Good food and service. Lots of room for small family dinner or group seating. Would definitely go again or pickup takeout

After trying it, it tasted fine, but it was so rubbery and hard to eat - you had to chew on it forever. This fish was obviously extremely overcooked or hadn't been stored properly. My husbands meal was exactly the same. It was all I could do to get that fish into me. We won't be back. A waste of money.

There were a few people making some noise but the place was somewhat subdued. The restaurant really should be called 'The Bare Minimum'. Beer options lacked craft options. The kids Fish and Chips clearly lacked fresh fish and the fries were not only frozen but embarrassing the lowest or second lowest grade of frozen fries. A 'famous' Fish and Chip restaurant should have fresh fries. The wings were overpriced. The hot sauce was Franks. They were over cooked. I could even order a double or a half order on top of what seemed to be a disappointment waiting to happen. The menus were all crinkled and the o unfortunate lack of appetizers was evident. No chocolate milk for the kids. The taste was disappointing at best. If I was the owner, I'd be legitimately concerned about the obvious corners he is cutting. We are to fill our stomachs and not for the love of food. I get it's an attempt at a bar scene as well as Fish and Chip joint. Details and quality matters. I hope the owner puts some genuine love into this place, because it's not gonna last like this.

My gluten free..the fish was dry and disgusting. Tasted like it had been made before and was just heated up. The regular halibut was rubbery. Chips were also hard and gross. Great, fabulous restaurant!…read more Seriously, it's your classic 'fish and chips' spot and honestly, the food is delicious, but it's the SERVICE that really makes this place a 5 star! it's a 'mom and pop' independent establishment and you can tell these folks really care about their business! I don't eat there all the time, but every time I do, the lady always remembers my name and asks me how I'm doing. You can feel good giving your money to Captain Jack's restaurant in exchange for their lovely fish and chips; big chain restaurants don't really need your money and have servers that will never remember you and don't really love their jobs. Captain Jack's, however, is an amazing, independent restaurant, run by a hard-working couple who deserve for their restaurant to thrive for many years to come. I recommend trying the mushroom soup as an appetizer; it's different from anything I've ever had, but quite delicious. You will clean your plate and come back again for more delicious deep-fried fish and chips goodness!

Okkkkie dokie Came…read morehere for a family reunion invitation. My elders suggested the place. Mind was thinking hmmm will it be a good place? Drove up with the family to join the shin dig. The place is nestled along the coast associated with a marina. The complex the restaurant is housed in reminds me of an assisted living vibe that was repurposed as a family resort. Kinda like if you added some water slides and pools to the side of an ol folks home. We walk in, wife and kids begin chirping about how the restaurant looks ok but is giving off some retirement home, but! The patrons are mostly family. We are seated at the back of a nice room , however our back wall adorns a large lcd screen emblazoned with a digital beach scene. My back is to it, so it doesn't bother me too much. Now that ive set your expectations to "questonable"we get to the food. Wife and i not expecting much. We go with the recommendation from my parents to try the tomahawk steak- for four people, kids ordered salmon rice veges, and spaghetti dish, The tomahawk takes about 45 mins to prepare. Comes w a Cesar salad, and we also ordered a calamari appetizer. The house bread is soft warm and fresh. W a sid eof roasted red pepper butter. 5/5 Calamari has light batter w. A nice sauce chipotle mild? Very yum- 5/5 Ceasar salad on point w the right composition of dressing, and fresh greens! 5/5 Kids: My sons who are picky 1. Salmon rice broccolini dish- completely gobbled up. 5/5 2. Spaghetti w carbonara sauce. 3/5. He said it was ok. Maybe too heavy on the cheese. Tomahawk - came out cruise missile style and landed into my top steaks crater. This thing was pre cut, on a meat board , w delicious gravy in a gravy pot, side of perfect mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables? Maybe some were also grilled . The meat was perfectly done a medium- light red , tender, touch of blood. Made to order. Meat was all eaten , as were the veges and the mash 6/5! Considering my expectations were low when i was judging this place on its looks. Also tried a side of the mushrooms- well cooked w good aroma 5/5 Desert was a chocolate lava cake - light cake part and rich chocolate lava part-4/5 Needless to say. Exceeded expectations. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Fresh food for what we ordered. Hidden gem at this seafood restaurant was the tomahawk steak- MVP!. Give this place a try!!! Service was good 4/5

We had a private dining area with Alex as our server . He made sure all our needs were met, provided exceptional service and was attentive at all times . Everyone in the group enjoyed the evening with delicious food, tasty appetizers, great wine and delectable desserts. The restaurant is beauty, great view of the bay, an oyster bar and an inviting atmosphere. All dishes including Chicken, Salmon and prime rib were delicious as the Main course and the chocolate mousse and crème brûlée were decadent.

We had a large party of 14 and didn't have a reservation. It was Friday afternoon around 430pm and they were able to accommodate our party. John took great care of us, as well as all the other staff helping. The fish and chips are phenomenal here, we usually get the cod. I ordered a 2 piece meal with a Caesar salad and upgraded the fries to poutine. The servings are huge, and I split the meal with my cousin. Everything tasted incredible!! We also split an ice cream lava cake that was delicious. I ordered a drink that I can't recall the name of, but everyone enjoyed all the drinks and beer that was ordered.

Staff was and continues to be friendly however a 2 piece haddock and chips was virtually a chips dinner (3/4 of the meal) with with a side order of 2 pieces of haddock. Way too many fires (soggy as well) for a single side order and the haddock was small. Taste if the haddock itself although cooked seemed to be lacking in taste. This had been our favorite fish and chip location in Ontario for nearly 30 years. Whether it is because of change of the times or Covid this location has lost the magic it once had for us. The price did not match the quality.
