Machine ate my money and wouldn't give refund. No number listed anywhere to ask for help.

Being new to town I needed to find a mechanic to work on my 15 year old SUV that in my previous…read moretown I only took to the dealer (too lazy to find someone else so I paid the high prices). After asking friends and neighbors with no luck I turned to Yelp and saw the great reviews for Monona Motors. I had seen this place dozens of times on walks and bike rides - it is just a mile away so I thought I would give them a try. It is a tiny place so it is hard to get into but I was not in a rush - two weeks out was OK. Greg and the guys were really friendly and straightforward in helping to figure out what was wrong. They only fixed what was wrong and did so in a cost effective way. They also discovered a very rusted out part that needed replacing in order to replace a rocker arm (I saw the old one - wow I am lucky it didn't fall apart). They tried getting the part from Nissan but due to pandemic supply chain issues it was not available but they found one from the South on Ebay for a quarter of the price of new. It was in great shape (no salt used down there). I like their initiative in trying Ebay for the part. I brought the car back for this additional work. It was done quickly and for the price quoted. So far so good with both the brake job and the front end work - and I am sure I saved a ton of $ going to these guys. I am glad I found them on Yelp!

Definitely the most convenient place to fill up and get a car wash on the east side. The wash code…read moreprints out on your gas receipt right at the pump. Eight bucks for the best quality touchless wash including scented prewash and undercarriage wash and spot free finish, and the car comes out really clean and shiny and smelling fresh. There's also two lower levels of wash at $7 and $6. Really an affordable day brightener, this time of the dreary winter. I'm a fan. Note: If your car rides low, or you have an extended bike rack that rides low, be sure not to go out the Fair Oaks St. side of the lot, or you will scrape loudly and painfully on the steep grade. The Milwaukee St. side exit is nice and flat.

I have gone to Seversin's for 6 or 7 years since I moved to the east side of Madison. I have found…read moretheir prices reasonable and, most important, their service honest. I have used them for oil changes, exhaust system problems, and tire repairs. Most recently, since I bought an EV, I had my car towed to Seversin's after flying off the road and getting a flat tire in a snow storm. On a weekend. They talked to me on Monday, and told me to wait. Called me Tuesday and said the tire held air and didn't need to be replaced ( they could have lied and charged me for a new tire...I was totally convinced the tire was ruined). When I picked up the car, I asked, "How much?" No charge. I have had a different tire torn previously, and they replaced it within two days and charged less than $300 for the new tire and labor. These guys aren't fancy but they're honest and timely. They also allow use of their outside air hose absolutely free! You can trust them.
