My car never has a…read moreclean bill of health, there's always something additional I need to pay for to pass inspection. I like to come here because it's the closest place I can walk to from home. This time, I showed up at 9:40 am, dropped off my car. Desk clerk was very nice. Said they'd call me when it's done. I asked how long and they said it would take a few hours-- I figured that was the case. They called me at 3pm and told me that I needed some bulbs, some blades in order to pass inspection. They recommended I get my front pads and rotors. I didn't feel pressured by any of it. After he said this to me, he said he would call me back to let me know when my car was ready. Obviously it meant I wouldn't get it in the same day, which I had anticipated. Around 9:50am the next day, he called to say my car was ready to pick up. I walked down and did so. My total did come out to be $555 after my discount. Mentioning my AAA membership got me 10% off labor. Overall, polite, non pressuring service. Reasonably priced. Only go here if you're able to wait a day or two for your car to be done.

Overall great service, just wish they didn't have to keep it overnight, but beggars can't be choosers in the city (everywhere else was booked out for a few days minimum). Also the guy at the front desk was really helpful whenever I had a question

I had a mixed experience at Bastone's, where I went (on an old family friend's recommendation) to…read moreget a wheel arch repaired. The positives were that they were able to get me in very quick and were, overall, friendly and professional. I do think they know what they are doing. The major negative was that the final price came out nearly twice the original quote: close to $600 instead of the original $320. This was, I was told, because an additional part had to be sourced and installed. While I was already disappointed in this unexpected cost doubling, the icing on the cake was that I wasn't asked if I wanted to proceed with the repair. I was just informed that the cost had jumped, that the repair was complete, and that I now needed to pay up. This suggested to me that the original assessment of the damage had not been as thorough as it could have been. While a quote is an estimate, not a certainty, it's not good practice for businesses that run on quotes to let customers pay twice what they were originally expecting. In this situation, for instance, I would have appreciated a discount on the unexpected new part. That might have eaten into their profit margin, but it would have guaranteed that I would become a return customer, whereas now, I am not so sure.

**Wasted TWO WEEKS only to tell me he is unable to do the work**…read more This is not a professional place for any real work that needs to be done. First of all, ED doesn't run this place anymore. It's a young guy named Greg. So the previous reputation earned no longer applies. He was ornery from the start with an attitude about making an appointment and how it's far out. The thing is, if you keep mistreating people the work will dry up. Greg held my keys hostage for a week after telling me he would take a look at what the problem is. Then his little feelings got hurt when I went over AFTER A WEEK admittedly frustrated that he hadn't even as much as called to let me know he didn't have time so I could take it elsewhere. I suspect he enjoyed his wee little power trip. I had an appointment made for 2 weeks so I decided to just wait it out. Day of appointment, the shop doesn't open until after 10 (even though they say 9) and he tells me he can't work "with me" "we're not a good fit" bud, just say you're not competent enough to do the work and you need a therapist to unpack your trauma. This joker is confusing being a professional with some kind of relationship boundary. If you're a woman, steer clear of this place. The guy running the show has serious female bias. Yes, I know the location is convenient but it's not worth it. Go up the street to the guys on Braddock.
