HORRENDOUS service--absolutely appalling and beyond unprofessional. We hired Visiting Angels to…read moretake care of my 87-year old father yesterday and the caregiver did the following: - arrived 10 mins late - proceeds to ask my mom if she could step out to run an errand and go to HEB to pay a bill - wore her mask on her chin (My father has not yet been vaccinated as he was just released from a rehabilitation hospital a few days ago. My mom had to ask her to wear her mask properly.) - never introduced herself to my father or interacted with him (she sat in the dining room while my father sat in the living room) - she watched shows on her phone literally the entire time she was at my parents' house - went to the restroom for 15 minutes at a time - folded 1 article of clothing when she was asked to assist with tidying up the living room - after reluctantly washing a few dishes, my mom gave her a plate after my dad was done eating breakfast and the caregiver asked, "Am I really supposed to wash this plate as well?" - Used the restroom for over 15 minutes at a time - FELL ASLEEP -- we have photo evidence of this. She laid her head down on the dining room table while her phone was propped playing her shows and she dozed off for over 20 mins. We contacted Visiting Angels immediately to complain about this caregiver, and showed Marisol Mauricio (Client Care Coordinator) the photo of their caregiver. She proceeded to almost make an excuse for the caregiver by saying, "Well, it appears as though she's reading something" -- though it was clear that the caregiver's eyes were closed and she was sleeping. Regardless, a caregiver should not be on their personal cell phone watching shows when she is supposed to be working and tending to an elderly person. We sent the caregiver home because instead of actually assisting, she only caused more headaches. And thank God my mother was home to witness all of this because she was originally going to work today. Otherwise, we probably would have never known the extent of this caregiver's neglect and incompetence. Our experience was incredibly disheartening, as we had high hopes after everything that was initially promised to us during our initial meeting with Claudia Massie (Director of Patient Care). My mom requested to speak to Claudia today after this unfortunate incident and never heard back from her. This service was supposed to assist, not create additional issues than we're already experiencing with my father's declining health. While this one caregiver may not represent all the caregivers in the entire company, it is rather difficult to believe otherwise when its directors have made zero effort to fix/make up for the actions of one of their unfit caregivers. The fact that this company is called "Visiting Angels" is ironic. They are anything but angels. Do yourself a favor and do not hire them. Hiring this company would create a huge risk as well as an unsafe situation for your loved one.

A friend placed his spouse in memory care here last year. The facility is stunning. The amenities…read moreare very nice. It's very clean. In the first day or so, the meals served to the family as they were getting her situated were outstanding. But as time went on and the patient could no longer use utensils, her "finger foods" have been less than desirable. Unless someone is there to feed her with utensils, she is left to fend for herself with chicken fingers, French fries, even scrambled eggs. After a number of falls (more than five), the staff recommended that the family provide their own sitter for daytime care. The national average for falls in nursing homes is 2-1/2 per year. Although The Parc claims to provide the "minimum" (1 attendant per 12 patients, I think) as the state requires, it doesn't appear to be enough in a memory care unit. Nor, does it seem to be enough for the most expensive memory care unit in the area. Expensive is an understatement. If you do not have Medicare or long term care, a place here is easily $7,000/month. Add a private sitter and the cost goes up considerably by $5,000-$6,000/month. That's a whopping $12,000 to $15,000/month. Unless you have won the Lottery, this will not be affordable for anyone. And lastly, I recently attended the funeral of one poor resident, a friend of mine, who had only been at The Parc for a few weeks. He fell and died as a result.

Start to finish it was a horrible experience at The Parc namely because I felt they were grossly understaffed especially in Memory Care. I asked if it was even legal to have 1 care giver for 12+ residents because several of them could not feed themselves and I was told, in writing, that while they would like 1 caregiver to 6-8 residents they were within the legal limits with 1 caregiver to 15 since "all but 1 was high functioning." High functioning??? They are in lock down memory care!! No one is high functioning!! So yes they will have you believe they offer "exceptional" senior living but really they are giving residents the minimum care allowed by the state of TX. I agree with A. Boykin, the food itself and the service is a hot mess. The food always seems to be late in both AL and MC. Plus, it's less than appetizing. Also, the mgmt demands the the AL and MC LVN's be dressed up in office attire including high heels which is ridiculous because how can you take care of residents if there is an emergency if you are stumbling around in high heels? This is all part of the treat them like resort guests and say "my pleasure" as often as possible. Don't be fooled by the pretty decor and piped in music because really it's lipstick on a pig. The second the AL director quit (who was absolutely fabulous) I moved my mother to The Langford. She is thriving and says "I feel safe here."
