~ Horrible communication . . . customer service that is unable to provide a solution, or to rectify a problem that they, British Airways, created!
I have flights, booked months ago, from Pittsburgh to London to Delhi. I have return flights from Delhi to London to Pittsburgh.
Sounds simple right? Well, it got complicated when 1 of the four flights, just suddenly disappears from my app., leaving a big gap in my itinerary.
British Airways cancelled my flight without telling me (or my travel agent) from London to Delhi. They claim "operational reasons." I was on the phone with a customer service rep. for what seemed like an hour or more, and in the end I was not offered anything of use. At first they offered me a rebooking through Doha, then reneged because it was giving them "an error." Next they tried booking through Mumbai, and once again, that didn't work either. I asked for a direct flight on a competing airline (of which there were two available), and they said because of a policy, they could only do that if the flight was cancelled within 24 hours, and supposedly my flight was cancelled on 28 July (without informing me). So they were useless as far as accommodating me on any flight within the same day range of my original booking, and as far as I am concerned, never even communicated to me via e-mail, text, or on the app., that my flight was even cancelled. I fly tomorrow, and now I am scrambling to try and book another flight (at my cost (not to mention a terminal change and logistical luggage headache)) to get me to my destination on the correct day . . . THANKS FOR NOTHING British Airways . . . Pip Pip Cheerio . . . NO CHEERS FOR YOU!!!
UPDATE: Long story short, my travel agent was able to get me rebooked on a different airline, but my whole London layover that I had meticulously planned out is completely scrapped . . . now I fly to NYC to Delhi, and have to sit in JFK for eight hours . . . oh, the joys of travel!!! read more
