Britches is Back!
J E.

For all those who grew up wearing Britches rugbys and have held on to them over the past 25 years (since Britches closed down), you can now come here and get your fix once again! This location opened a month or so ago in Warrenton and it's the first of their effort to open Britches Great Outdoors back up again. They have men's and women's clothing and are getting more over the coming months, to include getting rubgys aronud December. The girl working there was very friendly and helpful and they have a very nice selection of clothes. Looking forward to coming back and seeing what else they get in the coming months!

The Game Store is a cool gaming store - tucked away on a side street in the Warrenton Village…read moreCenter retail complex. The Game Store carries a wide variety of Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, and other gaming supplies and accessories. There is a large are dedicated to tables for gamers to come in and play a game/campaign. There is also a private gaming room available for rental/reservation. I picked up a copy of the book: "The Practically Complete Guide to Dragons," by Dungeons & Dragons/Wizards of the Coast. I paid with Apple Pay. Really cool shop! #TheGameStore

None of our experiences here have been very warm or welcoming…read more The first visit, my wife and her friend went in and were asking questions about the space - is there a cost to sit and play for example. She used to work at Games and Stuff in Baltimore many moons ago, so she really loves game stores and gaming. She also asked the young man about one of the Pandemic's sitting by the front counter. He didn't look at her and said he didn't know anything about it. (This is fine, but not very customer-focused, which is why she's in public and not at home on the internet shopping). The second time was neutral-negative. No one really spoke to us and felt very outsider like. The third time, I wanted to ask some questions about the giant Overpower relaunch. I really love hosting tourneys, have extensive experience working Gencon tournaments for a different, well-known gaming company, and thought I'd see if there was any interest in The Game Store letting me put together some tournaments or games of Overpower after it's launch. The young lady informed me that "This isn't a card store" as she stood in front of a wall of cards. Then, Brad let me know that he will speak to "Over, what was it again?" at Gamma and if they're serious about their game they'll be there. Meanwhile, we're sitting on $20k worth of product we were willing to use for launching an Overpower intro to see if it would take off, in addition to the kickstarter package that's en route. Brad had some very condescending remarks about how he doesn't back kickstarters, as if we weren't general citizens wanting to find some other fans in the area, and we were trying to sell him something. Not that I expect anyone else to nerd out about OP like I do, but the entire conversation was so condescending and arrogant. It was just bizarre and defensive, and after all this we will find one of the other FRIENDLY local game stores that meets our vibe :) They have an OK selection of games, but don't come here for the personalities. And to TGS, maybe learn that people come to your store for an experience - the customer engagement. Otherwise, they would stay home and shop. Maybe think about that when you're on the clock.
