Beautiful store with quality one of a kind items. No tourist crap here ! Great place for a gift or souvenir

Yesterday was my first time exploring Warrenton, and this little shop made me want to MOVE here. I'm expecting my first child in April of this year and their kids/children section is amazing and so adorable! So many handmade goodies, unique gifts, and treasures worth given attention to here. The only reason I left empty handed was because some of the prices were a bit high, but for fair trade and handmade goods, this was acceptable. I'm looking forward to coming back ASAP and showing others this gem of a shop! You'll likely leave this place inspired, joyed, and having been immersed of the artwork of others. Also-- the woman at the front was kind and offered assistance while also giving my fiancé and I the space to peruse. It was refreshing. :)

The Latitudes Fair Trade store is all about selling goods made from other countries - where the artist/artisan was paid a fair wage - a few bullet points from their web site: -Creating Opportunities for Economically and Socially Marginalized Producers -Developing Transparent and Accountable Relationships -Building Capacity -Promoting Fair Trade -Paying Promptly and Fairly -Supporting Safe and Empowering Working Conditions -Ensuring the Rights of Children -Cultivating Environmental Stewardship -Respecting Cultural Identity To this end they have all sorts of interesting products for sale - art, home decor items, jewelry, and more. The owner is Lee Owsley - she is a friendly, delightful person to chat with - but what really makes her store fun - is Rosy and Otis - the resident shop dogs - two adorable, soft, fuzzy, cute Toy poodles. Upon entering the store, Rosy made it very clear that she wanted some attention. Of course I could not resist her - she is a real sweetie! Check out this shop!

Love browsing through the store for presents. Everything is made with such creativity and love, and at a fair price for the artisans.

The Game Store carries a wide variety of Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, and other gaming supplies and accessories. There is a large are dedicated to tables for gamers to come in and play a game/campaign. There is also a private gaming room available for rental/reservation. I picked up a copy of the book: "The Practically Complete Guide to Dragons," by Dungeons & Dragons/Wizards of the Coast. I paid with Apple Pay. Really cool shop! #TheGameStore

None of our experiences here have been very warm or welcoming…read more The first visit, my wife and her friend went in and were asking questions about the space - is there a cost to sit and play for example. She used to work at Games and Stuff in Baltimore many moons ago, so she really loves game stores and gaming. She also asked the young man about one of the Pandemic's sitting by the front counter. He didn't look at her and said he didn't know anything about it. (This is fine, but not very customer-focused, which is why she's in public and not at home on the internet shopping). The second time was neutral-negative. No one really spoke to us and felt very outsider like. The third time, I wanted to ask some questions about the giant Overpower relaunch. I really love hosting tourneys, have extensive experience working Gencon tournaments for a different, well-known gaming company, and thought I'd see if there was any interest in The Game Store letting me put together some tournaments or games of Overpower after it's launch. The young lady informed me that "This isn't a card store" as she stood in front of a wall of cards. Then, Brad let me know that he will speak to "Over, what was it again?" at Gamma and if they're serious about their game they'll be there. Meanwhile, we're sitting on $20k worth of product we were willing to use for launching an Overpower intro to see if it would take off, in addition to the kickstarter package that's en route. Brad had some very condescending remarks about how he doesn't back kickstarters, as if we weren't general citizens wanting to find some other fans in the area, and we were trying to sell him something. Not that I expect anyone else to nerd out about OP like I do, but the entire conversation was so condescending and arrogant. It was just bizarre and defensive, and after all this we will find one of the other FRIENDLY local game stores that meets our vibe :) They have an OK selection of games, but don't come here for the personalities. And to TGS, maybe learn that people come to your store for an experience - the customer engagement. Otherwise, they would stay home and shop. Maybe think about that when you're on the clock.
