Very impressed by our visit here. We came in around 5pm on a Saturday night and the place was busy-…read moreand for good reason. I didn't know it was pirate themed prior to coming, which was interesting. I don't understand it, but I'm sure there is a reasoning. We placed our order at the front quickly, and had our food out fast. We were able to find a table easily. The place wasn't too loud, and felt clean. We had a 1/2 brisket sandwich with coleslaw and rolls, as well as "The captain", which we both greatly enjoyed. The brisket wasn't anything out of the world, but for the price I'm impressed by how much we get. The slaw was great- a mayo based sauce. The rolls had a nice garlic taste. The fries were crispy, and had plenty of toppings. Overall, for the price of barbecue now a days, I'm impressed and will come back. Two barbecue meals, and two canned alcohol beverages for $45, along with good service and fun atmosphere is hard to find these days.

So you don't have to go through the restaurant if you dont want to. Its dark and moody in all the best ways. I was warmly greeted by the bartenders. I took a seat at the actual bar even though they had plenty of seating. I was super impressed with the cocktail list. All the drinks sounded delicious . I asked the bartender for suggestions. I decided to go for the Key Lime martini. Beautiful presentation and it tasted just like a key lime pie. My friend ordered the spicy margarita. It came in a cool, skull glass. Overall, very impressed with the drinks and the service. Will definitely be coming back to try more of their speciality cocktails.

Best ribs I've ever had in my life…read more The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the interior is sparse but nice and clean. It is obvious in his demeanor and the quality of the food that Ben is doing what he was put on Earth to do. The pulled pork is great, the coleslaw is flavorful, the peach cobbler hits the spot, But the ribs? Transcendent. My dad kept a list of his favorite ribs. Ben's would've taken the top spot. Get there early, because they'll run out. It's worth the wait.

I almost skipped it, and I'm so glad I didn't. It was incredible. The BBQ sauce deserves a shoutout too. It has the perfect balance of sweet and savory with just enough vinegary tang to keep you coming back for another bite. The peach cobbler crisp was really good and the slaw was well seasoned. My only hope is that they get some more sides in the future like fries & Mac n cheese. But meat is the real MVP. One piece of advice: get there early. They just opened their new restaurant and are still figuring out how much food to prepare each day, and they were completely sold out before 2 p.m. That's a good problem to have! Show up hungry because you'll want to try everything. Be patient as they are figuring this out and have huge crowds. We waited in line for about 40 minutes and it was well worth it. On top of all that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the BBQ. Ben is a blast to talk to, and his staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming. You can tell they care about both the food and the people walking through the door. I'll definitely be back. Best BBQ I've had in Indiana.

We got a meal for eight and took two boxes of leftovers home We ate at the outside picnic tables. We had table side service with runners bringing us sides in serving bowls as well small trays and larger round trays for the adults. All of our meal trays were HOT! The slaw was five star from all including everyone who "doesn't like slaw." There are three sauces. Everyone had their favorite. All are good. I went back in after the fam left to refill my water for the ride home. WHAT? Brunswick stew and pork rinds? I was offered a sample of the stew and snagged the last bag of rinds (even bad rinds are better than no rinds, right?) I was offered a sample of the Brunswick (all the meats, a little corn, Lima, potatoes, bbq sauce, tomato's). This is a a low-key restaurant. Great service. My favorite pulled pork, Mac and cheese (which I do not eat, but tasted just for you), law that was universally, loved, and overall excellent sides, and dishes. Great service indoors, or outdoors. Yes, I'm coming back. If not just for a bag of pork rinds the best I've ever had! Ambience indoor outdoor. Not four star service or serving but a perfect picnic site with excellent service. Try it it's been around for a long time. I took too long to do this one!

Sammy could not have been nicer and more helpful and cheerfully said, "Mistakes happen. You keep the baked beans and let us give you your green beans." He really saved the day for us as most of the kids present did not like baked beans. He said, "Have them try them, they'll like them", and they did! The menu features more carryout and party options. I ordered the barbecued brisket sandwich with tater tots. They have a small number of tables inside where you can eat and watch Pat McAfee on their big screen tv. The food came out fairly quickly. My sandwich was heaping with moist, brisket on a fresh soft roll. Their bbq sauce is fabulous - sweet with a tinge of heat and lots of spices. The tots were crispy. The owners are friendly. We chatted about local sports for a bit. Their hours vary. They close early if they sell out of bbq, which happens frequently. But you can special order for pick up. These were really good. The sauce to dip them in as well, was such a great combination. I want to take my husband back just to try those fried green tomatoes. If you have tasted a lot of FGT, don't go by advice, because I do not have another option to compare them to. I'm gonna give it a 4 star review because there were a few persistent flies. I don't know if it was because we were sort of near the front entrance and a draft was bringing the flies in. But they would not go away. Which was offputting. No one likes to be flapping their hands around while trying to talk and eat to make sure flies aren't getting on their food.
