My mother and I have both been to see Dr. Brion, a local rheumatologist, for osteoporosis. He is very knowledgeable about this condition and careful in his examination and explanation. He is very kind and patient. My mom is 100 years old, and Dr. Brion was gentle in his demeanor with Mom, and I'm happy that she and I are in his care. Feel like you have to choose between brilliant and good bedside manners? Guess what? You dont! You can have your cake and eat it too...even though Im pretty sure that since we need a Rheumatologist then we shouldn't be eating too much cake since dairy, gluten and sugar are all so inflammatory. Anyway, I digress. I have been an ER nurse for many many years and I have worked all across the country so I have interacted with my fair share of specialty physicians. Dr. Brion is brilliant. I mean super duper smart. He is humble and compassionate and respectful. And for the love of all things holy....he listens! I've been a patient with Dr. Brion for over a year now after needing a rheumatologist closer to home. My grandmother went to this practice for many years so I knew I was in good hands and he came recommended from my former rheumatologist. First, the office is so well run. The wait time is minimal (usually 10 minutes max) and Christina at the front desk is so kind and helpful. Appointments are always easy to schedule. Dr. Brion listened and worked hard to find a solution to improve my quality of life (which was a lot of trial and error!) but takes his time to only prescribe medication that are necessary. I have been seeing Dr. Paul H Brion with Arthritis Consultants of North County, Vista CA for approximately eight years. I go there as an infusion patient and from day one Dr. Brion, his nurses and office staff have provided a very caring, warm and professional atmosphere. This sure has made my treatment easier to endure. They are always prompt and stay on schedule so no one's time is wasted. My biggest fear was needles and that quickly went away when his nurse, Joanne, was so excellent at her job. Nancy & Susan are other key players in making sure that their patients are all doing well. Even Christina, at the front desk, always assists me with insurance issues and goes above and beyond. I love the laughter in this area of the office, it sure makes me feel more positive about my situation. My husband and I sure thank the whole office for me doing so well. I recently moved to Vista and had to find a rheumatologist as soon as possible due to the significant amount of pain I was in from chronic inflammation problems. The office staff was very helpful and I was scheduled quickly. Its a scary thing going to a new doctor but his front office staff member Christina was very nice and helpful. I wasn't made to wait too long before being called in. Dr. Brion was welcoming, he listened to my history and reviewed the forms I had filled out. He came up with a plan, made sure I was ok with it, sent prescriptions to my pharmacy and gave me a lab slip. I have been to see him about 4 times (my memory is terrible) and he always takes the time to listen to me. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and knows what he is doing. I haven't had to wait longer than a few minutes in the reception area or in the room which is unheard of for any doctor! Christina is very helpful and quick! You don't have to stand around waiting for your paperwork or prescriptions. She worked on getting one of my medications authorized and she made sure I was given the savings card for the medication since it can be pricey. The nurses who bring you back are very nice. Dr. Brion is a great doctor and the staff in the office are very nice and helpful. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Brion and staff. read more
