For the first test, I was told, "Your insurance will pay for it, so you might as well do it." I agreed based on that representation. A second, much more expensive test was presented in a way that relied heavily on fear and uncertainty. After asking the doctor several times whether it was truly necessary, and finally asking whether he would personally spend $1,000 on it under the same circumstances, he said no, so I declined. Despite that, the office later scheduled me for the test I had declined. Worse, the first test was submitted to insurance in a way that resulted in a denial, and I was billed for the full amount. I have called and emailed Emma in billing multiple times to discuss the charge, but no one has responded. Between the pressure to purchase additional testing, the incorrect scheduling, the unexpected bill, and the complete lack of follow-up, this was an extremely disappointing customer experience. There are many cardiology practices to choose from, so I am sharing my experience to help others make an informed decision.

Dr. Ahmed is very knowledgeable in POTS/Dysautonomia, something most cardiologist aren't up to date with, and I was happy to learn from him about this condition. He is very thorough with his questioning of your symptoms and genuinely cares about his patients and left me with a feeling that he really wants to help, and not just brush me aside like others in the medical field have done to me because of the "Rare" issues that I have that aren't always textbook. Dr. Lizotte freaked my husband out telling him I was going to have a stroke or cardiac episode. He insisted I should go to the ER because something was wrong. He insisted the ER nurse would look at my blood pressure and rush me back. Not the case at all, I ended up spending 8 hours sitting in an ER and left with no diagnosis, normal labs and EKG. The folks in the office there don't even know how to take a manual blood pressure, they solely rely on machines to do their job! Do better folks! Don't go here for healthcare or to participate in a study.

I don't think I've ever physically gone into their office, or emailed with their office, and come out of the experience with an answer or a solution. I've dealt with MANY frustrating messages back and forth with his staff (he rarely messages patients) who hardly even perform their jobs at a bare minimum- they'll respond to messages within 48 hours, but they will not help you in any way unless you make an appointment, which brings in money for their office. One example is that I had a battery of labs completed to address abdominal discomfort I was having- and Dr. Italiano emailed me saying everything looked great, regardless of multiple readings being out of the "normal" range. I specifically pointed this out to him, and his staff responded saying if I wanted to address a new concern I'd have to schedule an appointment. A couple days ago I was asking them for help viewing a form they had sent me through their app, they responded that I had to view it in "the portal", and when I asked them what/where this "portal" was (in the app or somewhere else), they messaged me back saying they could no longer assist me and if I wanted anything I had to call their records department (who have also proven to be completely incompetent in the past). This office drops the ball in every way, and they only care about making money off office visits. They do not care about you or your health, and only want to line their pockets with the money your insurance provider pays out for endless office visits. I will absolutely be changing my PCM, because I'm so tired of dealing with this staff.
