I was an established patient there in the midst of a cardiology work up with the doctor who Dr…read more Brion referred me to. Suddenly, (2025) I was told they no longer accepted my insurance. Today, while trying to locate a rheumatologist through my health insurance app, Dr. Paul Brion's name was listed as a contracted provider. I called United Healthcare (UHC), and Gabby confirmed that I am indeed listed as an active member with the policy and that Dr. Brion is contracted. We then called Sharp Medical Group (SMG) on three-way, and we spoke w Jonathan. He also told me that I am active w both UHC and SMG, and so is Dr. Brion. Jonathan confirmed that there was an auth on file. I was given the auth number and the dates that the auth was good for (5/1 - 10/28). When Jonathan called on four-way for us, Dr. Brion's answering srvc picked up, so Jonathan left a msg for them to call me to sch the appt. I called Dr. Brion's ofc a bit later to get sch'd. I just barely missed their call. The person didn't leave their name, but they did leave me a vm, asking me to call back to schedule. So I attempted to do so. (if I am able, I'll attach the transcribed message left by their ofc). When I called (solo), Brenda answered. She told me my info wasnt listed online in the Sharp portal, and there was no auth on file. She said there was NO record of me in the Sharp database. When I asked her if we could plz call them on three-way to clear up the misunderstanding, she literally said to me, "No; I have other calls." She acted as if I was inconveniencing her by calling. She left me on hold for an extended period of time before telling me she would not do anything to assist. I asked who the manager was and if I could speak with that person. She told me her name was Tiffany, and "she only works remotely." she says she's left Tiffany a msg to call me. So, I hv to call Sharp back to try to get assistance with sch'ing w Dr.Brion's ofc. Everyone was on the same page except the Dr. B's ofc. I spk w Amanda with SMG. She confirmed all the info I had gotten from the previous call w Jonathan and Gabby. Amanda calls Dr. B's ofc again, on three-way. Rosio picked up. Amanda again asked to speak with Brenda, who we were told "was tied up." After a couple of minutes, Rosio found my info online, and she noted I had been an est'd patient there since 2024. After Amanda offered her an auth and a ref number, Rosio said she DID see an active referral and authorization on file for me... They just needed my PCP to change one of my procedure codes from a "99215 to a 99214" (A procedure code ofcs use for billing purposes. If Im able, I'll attach a pic of the comparison between the two billing codes. After establishing it was a procedure code holding things up, Amanda directly asked Rosio why Brenda turned me away. She said was bc Brenda told me I needed to have those codes updated. That was absolutely not the case. Brenda gaslit me, and she stonewalled the appointment process. She never mentioned a procedure code. I would've been happy to contact my PCP's office to request the update on the auth. Brenda told me I wa in the system at all. There's no authorization. Open and shut. "Leave me alone." My professional and personal lives hv been consumed with medicine and Public Health. other pts would give up. I'm not trying to rob a bank. I'm trying to sch a follow up appt w my doctor. Ultimately, I wasn't able to sch the appt I've been working on all day. Fortunately, I felt very seen and heard by Amanda w SMG. She also noted the way in which we were brushed off, and Rosio was covering for Brenda in that call. Amanda commented to me that Brenda's behavior was completely unacceptable (she actually used the word "embarrassing") , and she'll be reporting his ofc and staff to management within SMG. She apologized to me for the way I was treated, though she doesn't work for his ofc. It's challenging to hv many different specialists and continually be given pushback as if I am (you are) doing something wrong by trying to sch an appt. Pts shouldn't end up in tears after calling your ofc. If you treat me that way, you treat other patients the same. We all know the expression, "one bad seed..." This is unfortunate. Dr. Brion is an excellent doctor. As a patient, you have options. If the staff is abusive, try to find another doctor.

However, it should be shared in a simple statement, on search engine sites like google, Facebook and others, that their information, that they do not have a website, and that they have an automated voice front desk. The automated voice, should give the address, and the option to speak with a live person. Their doctors are very good.

On one hand, I could appreciate her honesty, but she was very wrong in her judgment. I had a test done that proved I had a medical problem. She told me that she took back what she said about me. That was really nice of her. On the third and fourth visit, she was better. I don't dislike Dr. Bui as a person, but as a doctor, I think she should have not been so quick to judge. Or at least she could have kept what she thought to herself and let the tests show her what was going on. The second visit was just awkward and felt weird. I would not recommend her to family and friends because I don't think they would like her personality. If she would have said to them what she said to me, they wouldn't have gone back for more testing and treatment. I don't think this doctor is for everyone. You need to be persistent when you know something is wrong despite what the doctor may say.

I wanted to look more refreshed for another event I had planned earlier in the week and so I decided to go in early for botox. I initially had a positive first impression of this office. The doctor is a family physician who also offers cosmetic treatments like Botox and lasers. I came in specifically for Botox, and although he recommended more units than I usually receive for my crow's feet area, I agreed, trusting his judgment and hoping for good results. He even asked me to return in two weeks for a follow-up touch-up. Unfortunately, within days, I noticed no improvement at all in my crow's feet. I tried calling the office multiple times and received no response. I eventually went in person to have him evaluate the results. When I showed him the issue, he told me "not to smile so hard," which was surprising especially since during my appointment, the medical assistant had encouraged me to smile very hard for photos. At my two-week follow-up, I was expecting a touch-up as discussed. Instead, he recommended doubling the amount of Botox, and when I asked if I would be charged again, he said yes. This was concerning, as I have never needed that much product before, and my regular provider achieves effective results at a much lower cost. While he attempted to justify this with scientific explanations, my experience suggested that technique and anatomical precision, both critical in Botox, may have been lacking, rather than the amount used. What was most disappointing was that after this entire experience, there was no effort to resolve the issue or stand behind the results. Instead, I immediately received a reminder text invitation to a cosmetic event promoting additional services and products. Given the outcome of my treatment, this felt dismissive and a lack of professionalism and patient care. Overall, I left feeling disappointed with the results, communication, and handling of concerns. In 2022 Dr. Perez's office sent several reminders for my annual physical which I needed to schedule. The reason for this review is on my third visit in late 2022, I came in at 8:30am due to a very painful hand with stiches. AFTER paying for his services, discussing the 2022 physical I still needed with his friendly assistant, and then waiting ~30 minutes in increasing pain. Dr. Perez refused to help me with what was a spreading hand infection - I needed antibiotics immediately! After he refused to even look at my hand - AFTER I had paid and waited & told him how much pain I was in - I subsequently spent hours driving around looking for an urgent care that FINALLY give me the antibiotics I really needed. At this point I had puss coming out from between the stitches and my hand was burning red. Healthtopia in Leucadia came through for me! So why did Dr. Perez refuse to even look at my infected hand and provide any help (although I urgently needed antibiotics for the infection) AFTER I had already paid and met with his assitant... Because he was still unhappy ( a year later...) with his interactions and reaction with my wife during the very stressful time of COVID. I feel this doctor is not following the basic fundamental medical Hippocratic oath, "first, do no harm". When I had a spreading infection in my hand (it was burning red and puss was coming out of the stitches) and he choose to focus on his personal issues he had with my wife (from a year ago!) instead of my urgent health problem in front of him. Lastly, he said I was using him to get a quick appointment, which he did not appreciate and and another reason he would not help me with my infected hand.

I left a voicemail, but during my previous experience, I did not receive a return call. I understand that medical offices can get very busy and staff may not always be able to answer every call immediately. However, patients should at least be able to expect that their voicemail will be returned within a reasonable amount of time, especially when they are trying to schedule an appointment or communicate with the office. I previously brought this concern to the attention of the receptionist/medical assistant, and they seemed surprised when I explained that I had difficulty reaching anyone by phone. Unfortunately, I am experiencing the same issue again. This is very inconvenient and frustrating, and I believe it deserves attention from management. A cardiology practice handles patients who may have important and sometimes time-sensitive concerns. Having a reliable way to reach the office is an important part of patient care. I hope management reviews how incoming calls and voicemails are being handled and makes improvements. I appreciate the medical care provided by the practice, but communication and accessibility also matter, and this has now become a recurring issue.

After multiple X rays and MRIs with no issue identified I saw Dr Goodman for an epidural type shot. I was told that it would take a week or so to kick in. This morning after getting the shot yesterday I was able to walk for 3 miles with no pain at all. Amazed with this result and feel I have my life back again. I.cant recommend Dr Goodman enough.
