Sam was great to speak with and he answered all of my questions and gave me what I thought was a reasonable quote (given all the increased taxes and tariffs due to the Trump administration ripping off Americans!!) and scheduled time for them to come and install a new gas insert. The installers were quick and professional and did a good job installing the new gas insert, everything looks great and the fire is warm. :)

CF quickly jumped on it and we hadn't had any problems since. Then, a few weeks ago, our remote seemed not to work not to mention the unit itself unit was filthy. He acknowledged that the key costs about $20 on Amazon, yet charged me $325 for the visit. Before coming out, I told him on the phone that I thought a $325 service call was excessive. He replied that he would already be in the area and would stop by. Based on that conversation, I did not expect to be charged the full amount. The replacement key he left was old and clearly used. I also felt uncomfortable being pressured to pay on the spot. Had my husband been home, I don't believe the interaction would have unfolded the same way. Rather than argue or create a confrontation, I wrote the check and paid. I understand that service companies need to charge for their time and expertise, but charging $325 for a three-minute visit and a used $20 part did not feel fair.
