I had a move out clean. They quoted me $200 to $400.00. They billed in $560.00. They were there for about 6 hrs. They did not clean the oven, they did not clean the kitchen floor. This vendor came to clean a vacant 2 bedroom apartment for us, sent an invoice for $250 (which I think is a lot but am ok with it if the job was done) only to find filthy dirty appliances, stains all over tile floors (tile floors, so they obviously could be cleaned), dirt and debris inside kitchen cabinets and drawers. Honestly, it's unclear to me why they actually did to rack up enough time to send a $250 invoice. When these items were raised, we were told they would come back but there would be an additional charge. Unacceptable! We use cleaners all the time and told them honestly that if they didn't make this right, our relationship was terminated. It was bad business to leave a job like that and even worse business to refuse to make it right, knowing this is what would happen. They should have come back immediately at no charge and potentially even waived the bill altogether for the inconvenience (we lost a prospective renter because of the unclean condition of the apartment). This business clearly does not care about their reputation. We will hire someone else to redo the job, pay them, and also pay the $250 invoice, but we will never use them again and try to prevent others from getting taken advantage of also. I really liked the lady I spoke with on the phone and I was really excited that she completely understood and cared for the little things so important to ensure a good cleaning and a satisfied client. Unfortunately, my actual experience with the lady that came by, Agatha, didn't live up to all of those principles that the business owner (not Ida, but the other one) espoused. She came at 5:30 for a 5:10pm appointment and forgot to bring her supplies from the car. She went back and didn't start until 5:45pm. She seemed okay with cleaning the kitchen and bathroom but reluctant to do much of the dusting and it took me several polite requests to get the dusting done and then I had to keep bringing her over to every table, chair, closet to get her to dust it. I also didn't think their rates were competitive because there just wasn't as much work to be done (bed, dishes, etc) and the apartment was completely empty and easy to clean. The still charged extras for some basic things. The lady on the phone had told me she has two people working for her and they have several years of experience, but Agatha seemed to only have spent less than 2years in the U.S. and that too, seasonally. They clean the halls of the building I used to live in and used to clean my old unit there and now clean my current home. They are VERY responsive via text, flexible with schedules, and show up on time every time. I've recommended them to several friends who have also used Brilliant Cleaning for some time now. I found this company 2 years ago. I was walking my dog and saw a business card sticking out of a fence and I shamelessly stole it. I gave them a call and had an estimate the next day. This company is owned and operated by 2 young professional women who employ an all woman staff. So, to cut to the chase, of COURSE after I got the estimate price, I called around and got a lot of other estimates and info, and Brilliant beat them all. I decided to give them a try. WOW. In the two years I've used them, here are my experiences: - ALWAYS on time - The owners are very responsive to emails/calls - Special instructions for anything you need done are always accomodated. They will change your sheets, and even do your refrigerator for a small fee. - I have all hardwood flooring and it's completely sparkling when they leave. Also I have a dog, and they get ALL the hair off the floor. - They do baseboards - They use your supplies so you don't have to worry about strange cleaning supplies being used in your house; also they use your own cleaning towels so you don't have worry about how dirty the rags are -- they are yours and never touch someone else's house! The service is just fantastic. They are so professional and do everything to accomodate your time schedule. My entire condo building is now using them, AND my neighbors down the street! And they're handling our common areas too! Because this is not a huge conglomerate, it's definitely more of a partnership type relationship -- they go the extra mile. They are extremely trustworthy; they have keys to all the units in our building and no incidence of any thefts or breakage during that whole time -- that counts for a lot in the city!! Getting them to clean your house is better than having a martini (or 2!) And their reasonable prices make it that much sweeter! They do some suburbs as well, so if you don't live in the city, you're not out of luck. Also - a note! They do NOT work on weekends, so make sure you can get your cleaning in on the week days! We tried several and had a horrible experience. Then we were referred to Brilliant by a co-worker/friend and have been thrilled ever since. I found Brilliant Cleaning from another family in our townhouse community who were very pleased with them. I've been using them for several years and have had no problems. They are prompt, responsive and do an excellent job. In the past I've hired cleaners directly and used other services. Hiring directly, if the cleaner is sick there is no back up, and with other services you could never be sure of getting the same cleaner so there always seemed to be a learning curve. With Brilliant Cleaning I usually get the same cleaner each week, so she knows my little peculiarities, but if she can't make it there is always a message and a back up plan. My neighbor asked for a recommendation, and is now using them too. Although I have only used them once so far, the cleaning was excellent and I have already set up my second appointment. I have tried several different services in Chicago and this is by far the best. Iwona came over and walked with me through each room detailing what and how they would clean, asked what my expectations were and gave a free estimate. They are friendly, courteous, prompt and I trust that when I leave for work my home is in good hands.
