Stopped by yesterday to try this place after seeing a video review online. Place is small with a few tables for eating in. Line was almost out the door. The top negative was the fact that it seemed like there's no air conditioning. They did have portable units. Unfortunately, the extra bodies as well as the heat made it toasty. They have menus you can look at while waiting as well as on their website but people still had no idea what they wanted once it was their turn to order. Knowing your order speeds up the line.
Food came out fairly quickly which was nice since they were so busy. Just a heads up, the Big Bacon Energy is available on a biscuit on Sunday only. You can get it on a bagel if it's not Sunday when you're there. Might be a good idea to have that on the website so anyone taking orders doesn't have to repeat that all shift. I would be saying "sorry, biscuits only on Sunday" in my sleep.
There's a few different options for bagels. I will warn you now, these bagels are not like other shops. They're much darker. Not sure if that's on purpose or if they're maybe wheat. If you want white bagels this isn't for you.
They have several cream cheese flavors so mix it up. The bagels are very good & a decent size. They're very soft inside which was nice. I'm told that the Big Bacon Energy on the everything bagel was delicious. I didn't try it so I have no opinion. It did look like it had a good amount of bacon on it.
I had the bagel & lox minus the cucumber. I love cucumber but the preliminary cause of the current health situation was unknown so I've been refraining from eating produce. The addition of dill (I KNOW, I forgot about holding it too. Don't come for me!) was really different in a good way. I'd never had it on a bagel before but it works. My only issue was the bagel didn't seem to be toasted (that could have been my fault for if I know then I definitely ask for it to be toasted) & it was tough to bite into. I'd say that if you wear dentures, this might be an issue for you.
I loved the flavor profile. Between the saltiness of the lox, the creamy cream cheese, the freshness of the dill, the brine of the capers & crunch of the onion made this sandwich a 8/10. If the bagel is toasted even lightly it would be better.
My main concern is the location. GPS will get you there but it's also in an area that has a lot of empty businesses so it's hard to know if it's open. I don't know if the prices will work for the area but time will tell. I sincerely hope that this place stays as it's literally less than a half mile from us & you don't find good bagels here. I look forward to trying those biscuits next time.
They do have a few lunch options as well as Ramen occasionally. I don't know much about it so I will suggest you follow them on social media or maybe check the website for details. read more
