Went here for lunch last weekend and had some delicious ramen! I got the Blade Runner, mild, but it still had a little kick, and my friend got the vegetarian, and both were excellent! The food came out fast and hot, there was ample seating and parking, and really it's all about the food! The ambiance is a little... stale, but the food more than makes up for it! First off, the taste levels this place cranks out are quite impressive in seemingly everything they do from the egg rolls, to the rice and poke bowls, to the gourmet sammiches that they tackle - like fried/buffalo/Nashville chicken, takes on bahn mi and even Cajun and catfish! That said I've now tried three different and creative takes on ramen here and have liked each one more than the last - making it the real star of the show here. First it was the Chicago-style Italian beef with giardineira, then the spicy beef birria style, then my surprise fave, the Mega City bowl with chicken curry, peanuts and 3 potsticker dumplings on top! The service is fast and efficient in a venue (the back half of the VFW) that clearly lacks ambiance. The prices are admittedly a bit steep (except for domestics at the back bar) but you will be blown away by the flavors and you certainly won't walk away hungry. My only other advice....try not to ruin the shirt you have on when you go, in fact you might care to bring or fashion a bib, cuz most of these flavors will leave permanent stains! read more

My friend took me for my birthday lunch. Since I had good experience last year, I thought I should try this place again. We both ended up ordering the Mega City noodle which it looked okay. When we both started eating it, it was like very gooey and thick with peanut butter. The whole bowl has nothing but ground pork, a ton of peanut butter with some peanuts and 3 potstickers! There was no vegetable at all and not much of any broth. It was my fault that I ordered that not knowing what I would get! I am not even sure who came up with the menu and if it was tested! It was the nastiest food I ever had in my life! Please consider taking that off from the menu permanently. If you go there, please seriously do not order that! The pork belly noodle is fine when I had it about a year ago. Staffs are friendly. The place has good traffic during lunch time. Sorry I won't be going back again! read more

Amazing surprise Asian cuisine in the VFD, it is no fully authentic Japanese noodle shop but us foodie kids couldn't complain. The flavor profiles, variety, quality, and textures all win. They sadly were somehow out of the pork belly which put us trying the other ramen. Tater tots, sticky pork bun, and pot stickers added on, us five were very happy with the speed and portions. The hubby wanted to try this noodle place. We had a difficult time finding the place because it's located IN the VFW! There is a poster like sign on a fence in front of the VFW, but we obviously were not expecting that kind of sign. We had to call the place. We came in, and sure enough, it's in the VFW dining area. We go to order and they did have a professional menu displayed on the wall. The food was delicious and plentiful. The prices were right for how much you get. As for the ambiance? It's not a restaurant. It's a 70's VFW hall. I give them full credit for the effort. They did bring the food to our table. It's really a counter service type of business. Went for lunch around 12:45. First time trying this place, read yelp reviews so let's go!. Placed our food order than trued to find a clean table, no luck so I got napkins and cleaned one myself. I ordered the pear salad and pork egg roll , husband the blade runner special. The egg roll was dry and tasteless. The pear salad was full of kale, I was expecting some more mixed green. The blander runner spice was spot on, he asked for hot.It was supposed to have roasted chicken, two pieces of chicken. When we left I made sure the table was clean. Nom Nom Noodle is soooooo good. The Ramen is amazing, especially the pork belly. The crab rangoon may be the best in town. And their bahn-mi specials are always something unique and incredibly tasty. I'm not a religious person, but this place is as close as I'll get to having a religious experience. They have a flavor that suits every ramen vibe, and I have every intention of trying all the flavors. They have pork belly for your sort of heartier, Korean food jonesing. They have chicken for your traditional, purist vibe, and when you're baked and/or starving and can't make up your mind between tacos and ramen, get the special! THEY ARE ALWAYS GOOD. I've had the birria ramen and since I wasn't baked, it took me 2.5 meals to get through. This pleases me and my wallet. Fear not, pescatarians; they have a kimchi bowl (which I'm getting next)! So if you're having a day where you want to curl up in your favorite sweatpants and watch Gilmore girls for the 800th time, but gotta grab the perfect takeout, please allow me to recommend Nom Nom Noodle for the tastiest dark living room cuisine in Bloomington. Also please try every single side. I am slowly but surely working my way through it, but I have yet to have one bad side. I can't speak for the tots, but the pork sticky bun is AMAZING. Try that first. The cucumber slaw is zingy and the perfect balance to your chicken ramen (I recommend half spice for the bowls by the way). Crab Rangoon is clearly made that day, the wonton wrappers fresh and lightly crisped and DONT FORGET THE POT STICKERS. The ambiance for this pop up kitchen sequestered in the squeaky clean, unfailingly polite, and always welcoming VFW here is no-muss, no fuss. No one cares if you show up in face tattoos and sweats, they just wanna serve ya some salty noods for your salty moods plus there's beer in the VFW while you wait. The seating area is kid friendly, so no matter what your kid is oozing from where, you could hose down every surface in an hour so bring all the squeezy pouches you need! As far as service goes, it's the best service I've had in Blo-No in 2023. I can say that without hesitation because I don't get out much and the only other memorable service I've had was just because my server pronounced merlot, Cabernet, and Pinot noir phonetically when I asked what the wine specials were (so precious though). This crew is awesome and they work hard to put together a great product for you. I have NEVER waited longer than 15 minutes, today I parked in a mostly full parking lot and was in and out in 7 minutes. Food is packaged for immediate, intense enjoyment. They separate their noodles from their broth because you don't want a ramen casserole, you want a pool of tasty broth and with each forkful of noods, you pray it's not your last. And since they know I'm about to chew off my hand and looking at patrons like they're about to turn into a giant turkey leg, they put the noodles and egg in a (compostable!) ramen bowl so I can just pour that spicy, salty looooovvveeee broth on top and enjoy a 35 minute slurp over my ready-made trough. I am so happy we finally got a chance to try this place! I'm a pescatarian and love ramen, but never get the opportunity to eat it out since it's always meat based elsewhere.
