I am totally embarrassed that I have visited this place many times over the past few years and never took the time to review it. Initially, they weren't on Yelp and I was too lazy to put them on. Then I noticed they were added and just kept forgetting to review over and over and over again. Well I must admit, throughout the years of me shopping here and forgetting to review, this place has been consistent w great customer service and has an awesome variety of items. I love the table when you 1st walk in the establishment! There's always several things on there that catch my eye that I want! It just gives you a preview of what you're about to see as you continue to walk towards the back of the store. You much be open minded and have a great sense of humor for the items in there. They have jewelry, mugs, books, greeting cards, clothes, scents, etc. I look forward to continuing to support this cutesy establishment for many more years to come. read more

I parked right in front of Brightside Boutique and realized I had never actually gone in. Curiosity got the best of me, and I'm glad it did! Brightside Boutique is a lot larger on the inside than it looks to be from the outside. This store has clothing, trinkets, kitchenware, stationery, and more! Every corner has its own vibe/theme. You could spend a while roaming around and checking everything out. The staff members are appropriately masked. I didn't stay for too long when I popped in because I felt uncomfortable with how busy it was getting. However, I'm sure I'll be back around Galentine's Day to pick up some cute gifts for my gals or during a Saturday to support this small business! read more

A cute shop to stop by and pick up gifts for friends (or even yourself)! I love supporting small businesses and this boutique is no exception. There's a great selection of seasonal clothes, jewelry, stationary, candles, and trinkets of the like. As a woman in her early 20s, I really enjoyed seeing the shop's selection of cards and books. The Hampden location opened a few months ago, and I've been here a few times just admiring what they've done with the space. A little history lesson, I've been going to Brightside in Fed and Fell's for years to get gifts for friends and family. I also first discovered the place when I used to get tattoos from Kike Castillo at the Fed Location (Kike now owns and operates out of Brightside Tattoo not far from the Federal Hill Brightside Boutique). How amazing is that, a boutique with a traditional-style tattoo shop in it! Back to this location, of all three I think this one may have the best layout. It definitely feels very spacious and open when you walk in, and I was greeted by staff right away as I made a B line for the new Men's section. I also checked out some of the different parts of the store (gift season coming up, duh) and loved all the little touches from the wall of cards to the dressing rooms each with their own bit of style. I also purchased one of those cool round ice cube (ball) makers so I can impress all my homies next time we are trying a new Whiskey out. Brightside definitely feels like a good fit for Hampden, and fits that vibe of shops along the 36th St. you just have to pop into and check out. read more

I ordered a few tshirts online (they were on sale) and one arrived with a large stain on it. I reached out to the boutique via email to show them the condition I received it in and they said it was final sale and only offered me a 20% refund of the items price. When I said I would rather return it they refused to accept a return and only offered me the same 20% discount again. This has to have been seen when the order was getting packed up and they sent it anyway. A partial discount doesnt make up for an item I have to throw away. Whoever I talked to was pretty impolite and didn't say sorry but rather "oh no!" I won't be purchasing from here again, now I have to open a paypal case to get my money back. read more

Just wanted to say thanks to Emma for taking care of me today. I called in with multiple gift cards/payment over the phone. I know that can be a bit annoying, but she was kind and patient. Also wanted to mention that Brightside always has SUPER cute (and quality) stuff at decent pricing. And if something is a bit out of my price range, they frequently have sales. I appreciate the try ons they do in their stories on IG because it's really helpful to see how the clothing looks on an actual human. Bottom Line: Cute and quirky store with clothing and gifts. There are many great places to shop on 36th St. and Brightside Boutique stands out to me as being fun and upbeat. I love the eye catching grass wall and plethora of Edison bulb pendants. As far as merchandise goes, they have clothes and accessories for men and ladies alike. Cute boutique that skews young and skinny. Some men's clothing but mostly young women's, also accessories and gifts. I was approached and asked if I needed any help, which was nice. Otherwise, they left me alone to browse. Lots of sale items in the back but some of it was on the floor and in an uncomfortable spot for actually looking through. Prices were a tad high. I saw a plastic hair clip with a rhinestone kitty on it for $15 that almost made it to the counter. My spouse liked the men's stuff but its inventory wasn't very deep. Maybe, we'll try again when we're in the area. Certainly, I'll bring my daughter. read more

Love to support local small business, just not this business. Diversity amongst models and store staff is extremely poor. The worst return/store credit I've ever heard of. Never wore an item, it was still for sale in store and full priced, they wouldn't even give me a store credit. That's all I wanted. The owner is one of the snobbiest and rudest people I've ever encountered. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this business at all costs. read more

I can no longer support another business who's clientele is that of young, skinny, privileged white people (mostly girls). They're not inclusive sizing and they do not model any clothes on anyone other than slender white women. They also are posting on Instagram about where to open up locations for more privileged white people in the midst of Black Lives Matter protests around the world, rather than showing support, solidarity, and listening. Posting one message of inclusivity means nothing. How about posting about some already opened black-owned businesses? read more

This boutique has cute items but none of the associates greeted my friends and I when we entered the store. They walked past us while we browsed and didn't speak, but spoke to those who entered the store after us. One associate followed my friend every time she moved to look at merchandise in a different area of the store; needless to say, we didn't purchase anything and don't plan on visiting this store again. read more

Although this store had some nice clothes, the girls were not very friendly to me and my friends and the sizes were not very accommodating to regular size girls. I couldn't find a large or XL but luckily found the same exact shirt online on so many sites that were geared to people more my type. This store is mainly for young skinny type with filters. Not for the real type of woman or nothing diverse. A shame being from Baltimore. Hopefully Baltimore steps up their game and is for the culture. read more

Echoing what has already been said. Women above a size 8/10 will have a hard time shopping here. Cute clothing...too bad they don't have XL or 14 (my size) and above. Accessories were nice. Love the vibe of the store but really do not like the return policy! I was there last weekend and picked something up but decided that I could probably live with out it so I made time in my schedule to go back within a week of my purchase to do the return and get my money back. But since the store associates mentioned nothing about the poor return policy when I was checking out, I had no idea that they ONLY do store credit, no matter how soon after you come in!!! A policy like this really ruins a store, but they should at least mention it to customers because this is very unusual policy to have! read more

Brightside Boutique is a Baltimore City gem. It's located in all my favorite Baltimore neighborhoods with its Hampden location being my favorite. No matter what I'm dressing for Brightside is the first place I shop. I've gone to Brightside for everything including adding to my wardrobe, buying gifts, bachelorette fun, and home goods (They're candles are so good!). I am always greeted warmly when I come in and someone from their staff is always happy to set up a dressing room for me and give me suggestions on gift purchases. If not for Brightside, a local small business, there wouldn't be any other small business boutique offering said fashion. Also, offering a great selection of gifts for others or yourself! Cute store overall, I've been following their IG for years so I was excited to finally visit when I came to MD for the weekend. However I was met with a cold demeanor from the male sales associate. He was condescending and unhelpful, I don't even think he said thank you or gave more than a one word answer to my questions. The atmosphere of this boutique pales in comparison to it's Annapolis location. I have been here multiple times and have always gotten a "we are too cool to speak to our guest" vibe. In the Annapolis boutique, I always feel welcome and as though the staff actually wants to be there. There's a camaraderie that is palpable as the girls interact with each other. If my staff treated a guest the way my mother and I were this morning, I would be having a less than favorable conversation with my staff. Brightside is an awesome shop that offers unique clothing and styles to the Baltimore area and I'm really happy with the purchases I've gotten from there! The employees are kind and helpful, and the presentation of clothing is easy to navigate when shopping so my trip was quick and fun. I love this store but mainly I'm writing a review because I put a button in my pocket without thinking and before paying. When I went to pay, I briefly couldn't remember where I put it but eventually I found it in my pocket. I awkwardly gave it to the cashier knowing full well that I just made myself look like a criminal but she was still super nice and helpful.
