It hasn't even been 24 hours yet and my vision is so clear. I'm experiencing very minimal discomfort and I feel fully ready to take on the world. Thank you! The place is clean, too, and the process is quick! Be sure to ask about additional discounts when you go in for your consultation!

Very disappointing experience overall. I was scheduled for surgery on Monday, but only two hours…read morebefore the procedure I received a call saying the doctor determined my corneas were too thin. What's concerning is that this only happened after I specifically asked them to review my scans again. Had I not pushed for a second review, I genuinely worry they may have proceeded with surgery despite the risks. I also requested a direct explanation from the doctor and never received one. Instead, I had to repeatedly call the office just to get basic answers and speak with someone knowledgeable. My impression is that the process felt far more focused on moving patients through surgery than on patient safety and communication. I would strongly encourage anyone considering a procedure here to ask detailed questions, seek a second opinion, and carefully review whether they are truly a good candidate before moving forward. I also felt the recovery expectations were presented in a way that understated how difficult and lengthy recovery can actually be.

I scheduled a visit for a contact lens exam and an employee calls to tell me it's been past 90 days, which it has not and I would have to repeat my eye exam from August, in addition to the contact lens examination. My initial visit was ok, the optometrist and other staff members I interacted with were pleasant , I will say that I don't think they have the best selection of eyewear. You have to park in the surrounding neighborhood but it's normally easy to find a spot. Based on the issue with my contact lens exam, I am hesitant on returning.

What kind of sense does that even make? We spoke on the phone days before, which would have been a great time to have that conversation. We told the person on the phone what we had. It wasn't a mystery that could only be unraveled in person. Beyond that unnecessary complication, however, the person working the counter when we came in was almost comically rude. When we asked how much the exam would cost without insurance, we were told $240, but the condescending little smirk he gave us was free, I guess. I have no idea how this place stays in business.

What is also disconcerting is the event that occurred just before this botched surgery. She had gone in for her annual eye exam In Oct 2006-and Dr. Littlefield STRONGLY suggested she get this cataract surgery immediately even though she had no side issues or complaints when going into his office that day for her annual exam! She has been seeking corrective treatment from the Wilmer Institute at John Hopkins University Med Center ever since! It has been a nightmare. Her eye color has even changed from light brown to blue. It has been painful for her physically and emotionally. The drives to Baltimore and the occasional overnight stays (surgeries) have been a monetary strain to her and she is not able to enjoy her retirement as a result of this. Not once has he called her to see if she is OK. If she had been more litigious - maybe she could have slapped him with a malpractice suit. Please think of my Mom before making an appointment with Dr. Littlefield!
