This was a great…read moreplace to pick up some cute holiday gifts (fancy dish towels, things for making craft cocktails at home, soaps, etc). They also make baked goods in the store. I loved that each item had the simple ingredients listed with it on the name-- this made it easy for needing to ask if you have food allergies, but also terrific to see that the treats are made with basic ingredients like you'd use at home! I tried a snickerdoodle whoopie pie with cream cheese icing inside. The cookies were perfect and the frosting was a bit on the super sweet side but that's how I like my frosting so it was delicious! My mom got a slice of pie- the flavor was pretty good but since it was kept in the fridge, the crust lost a bit of the crunch/flakiness. We bought a take and bake frozen raspberry pie for the next time we have guests over. Mom also got a brownie, which she said was very good as well. The wide selection of pre made salads and sandwiches looked great as well as the large selection of take and bake meals and side dishes. This is my favorite type of a local gem to discover. It's a perfect spot to stop on the way to or from Lake Placid. I actually visited twice in the same day! It's open Friday-Monday (as of when I visited in November'23). I think I'll actually head back to that area next weekend and stop back in to pick up a few gifts and some more baked goods! Update--- We also did end up going back to the shop the following weekend for some more shopping. Customer service could use some improvement. **As I said in my main review, we bought a frozen pie to take and bake. We baked it for Thanksgiving l there was no scent while it baked which was unusual. It wasn't the prettiest looking when it came out of the oven. More unfortunately, no one liked it! My mom said it was the worst she's ever tasted. The crust was so thick and the filling and crust both had a strange aftertaste. This was very disappointing because the treats we had in the store were delicious. If the review was based only on the pie, I'd be a 1/5 stars.

This unique general store has a deli counter (had a terrific fresh Italian sub) a beer cave, and everything you could need in a general strip. My wife and I buy about half of our groceries here-- we like it because we can walk to it. If you're looking for a gleaming, modern, cavernous supermarket with miles of aisles, look elsewhere. I was looking for things to make a Russian New Years celebration feel more at home and they had all sorts of things: like traditional black bread, red caviar, smoked herring, deli meats, pickled mushrooms and more! They had frozen desserts and entrees as well from Poland, Russia and other Eastern European countries. I do wish they had some more prepared pre-made salads that one could purchase by the pound, but the son of the shop owner was very helpful in explaining the products as he worked the register. If you're a local to the area, you now have a new Eastern European market to check out! I hope you're able to find some great gems as I was!

Not best of NYC-level mind you, but plenty good enough to scratch your breakfast itch. Options are good, although they do run out of options occasionally as they are the ones baking them. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Some seats at the front and outside, but most people take it out. Prices are very reasonable. I liked the cinnamon raisin best, although graham cracker was good too. My son liked the plain best and insisted on getting it every morning. My wife liked the spinach egg and cheese, although I stuck to the maple cream cheese which was excellent. Coffee is very good, with pour your own for basic stuff and they also know how to make a great red eye over ice. Will be back in Lake Placid, and will be coming back here!
