I am very disappointed in this company. I reached out to this company and spoke with Mr Brighton who assured me he would assist with a door repair that Brighton Home installed. He asked that I send pictures, etc. I did everything requested and he kept promising me that he would set up an appt and informed me of what the price of the repairs would look like. I was completely fine with the fee. I just wanted my door repaired. After that one conversation, NOTHING. I kept calling, leaving messages and texting-- no reply. One time I called, he picked up, and asked me to resend the pictures; then stated ( as he did before), that he would get back to me to set up an appt. I called to follow up, and as usual, Mr Brighton did not answer or reply to any of my voice or text messages. Very disappointing. I spent a lot of money with this company when I purchased a new door AND replaced all my windows on my entire home. I did not deserve this kind of treatment after being a loyal customer. While Brighton had a wonderful history of doing great work, you have to be careful using them now. It is not the same Brighton. Brighton is no longer working out of 4607 S. Pulaski. You need to know exactly where there office is based out of now. In essence, you go to there office directly if you decide to use them. I can not trash Brighton because my work did get done . It was an excellent job done. However, if you are a little old lady or man and can not make sure you don't have someone take your money and disappear. You should probably go somewhere else. read more

Ahhhh.... Spring. When a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love. It's also when my girlfriend's thoughts turn to walking barefoot on the wood deck Brighton Home Products built for her in 2006. And, as has been the case every Spring since 2013, it is the time of year when my thoughts turn to either tightening or replacing screws on the decking that have raised up above the decking over the winter. This year, as has been the case every year since we brought the situation to Brighton's attention in 2013, the screw heads popped above the decking because the screws have corroded and the threads no longer hold the screws in place. As the nice folks at Brighton explained to us in 2016, this corrosion is caused because the folks who provided Brighton with the screws for the deck gave them the wrong deck screws. Since 2013, I've been tightening screws as they pop up above the decking, and replacing any screws that break off when I try to tighten them. For the first few years, I was dealing with 10 to 20 screws a year. This year, I used almost an entire 1 pound box of deck screws to replace those screws that have corroded to the point of breaking. I probably should bite the bullet and just go ahead and replace all the screws on the deck, but the prospect of removing and replacing 1,040 deck screws is more than I care to deal with. When we last spoke with Brighton about this, my recollection is they said their deck guys would replace the decking for a few thousand dollars. A 1 pound box of the correct deck screws costs me around $7 at Home Depot. I figure that over the next 5 or 6 years, I'll end up going through 9 or 10 boxes of the screws and eventually get all 1,040 deck screws replaced. I'm an old guy, in my mid-60's, and while I could do without the bruised knees and sore back that comes from removing the corroded screws and replacing them, spending a few thousand dollars to replace the decking because Brighton's supplier gave them the wrong screws doesn't make a lot of sense. So I'll spend $60 or $70 on the deck screws each year until I get them all replaced, and stop back each year to remind folks interested in having a deck made of pressure treated wood to make sure whoever builds the deck uses the correct screws. In all fairness, I should point out that my girlfriend had Brighton do a fair amount of other work besides the deck back in 2016. With the exception of the corroded deck screws and some other issues with the deck, Brighton fixed all the other problems to our satisfaction. I'm just a bit tired and cranky at the moment after spending my Sunday afternoon crawling around the deck, replacing corroded screws. read more

I arranged a visit to look over our dated bathroom. He listened to our ideas and came up with very good suggestions from his lengthy experience. He was a pleasure to work with. The end result was a new bathroom that turned out better than our initial plan - to me that's the ultimate compliment. The work crew was excellent in every way. Not only talented, but respectful of your property, your family, and a very reasonable clean up at the end of every day. There were times when the lead man, Jon, would have suggestions and ideas to make the final project look even better. He would tell you if he felt something would not look right if done a certain way. We appreciated that he took so much pride in his work and kept us involved in the project for critical matters. The same goes for the electrician, Marius. You want a guy to see ahead and tell you if something is not right, or should be wired and positioned a certain way. Also, thanks to him, we had some electrical problems that were within the walls promptly corrected. In march I reached out to Brighton to follow up on getting a new front door. The customer service was slow. Laura was easy to work with but Steve was always delayed or rushed, like you were bothering him or he was too busy to help. I could not get him to come by my home to offer any assistance in trying to select a door. Laura spent time helping me online. I finally did all my own self research sent exact door and glass selections and weeks went by with no response. I finally get a call one weekday afternoon at work from Steve saying it would be easier to come by to show me some things to make the quote, he offers a Tue AM , I tell him I work 8am-5pm and will send dates and times that work in the coming weeks after work hours or weekends. From that point forward I got ghosted by both Steve and Laura with no response when trying to schedule. How can you expect a person to take time off their job to meet with you for a 10k or more project. The ghosting was completely rude after months of leading me down a path they were open to the job. I would not do business with this company they are not professional at all and Steve is unorganized and not interested in the needs of the customer. read more

We recently had some security/storm doors replaced at my mother's home along with weather sealing around the main entry doors. Tim G. was our contact person from start to finish. We received another quote from a company that specialized in these types of doors, but they were overpriced and the salesperson never returned our calls for further questions or concerns. Tim from Brighton Home Products, however, was very responsive with any questions I had, contacted me to confirm some possible changes to the door styles and confirmed it before ordering them. He was so pleasant to work with. Carlos installed our doors and he pointed out some issues that may come up with installing the doors, contacted Tim and between the two of them, was able to work out a plan so that our installation was done properly and to our satisfaction. The weather sealing around our entry doors turned out great as well! I am very happy and satisfied with the work and the service received. I highly recommend this company for your replacement door needs. Ask for Tim for quotes - he's great to work with. Carlos for installation as well! If I could give zero stars I would. My parents hired them for some basement remodeling. They installed new louver doors. The doors however did not have the slats facing the correct way. My parents complained and for over a year they were given the run around about getting the doors replaced. The problem was never corrected. They also repaneled the basement and the trim work is atrocious. Didn't use any mitre cuts etc. Everything looks like crap. Do not use this company. read more

We had our bathroom gutted and redone by Brighton. We had a wonderful experience. Steve at Brighton was by our side through the whole process. He helped us chose fixtures and provided recommendations on ways to maximize our space. Also, because it was a gut job we also had to hire an electrician and a plumber that were separate from the work Brighton provided. Steve at Brighton helped us with this too and oversaw them to make sure that they did their work appropriately and provided reasonable pricing. He also dealt with all inspections and ensured that everything was perfect. We had a stress free remodeling experience because of Steve and his experience and expertise. I would use Brighton again for future projects and would recommend them to anyone. read more

If I could give this business 1/2 stars I would. We needed a new front porch as our brick and concrete porch was giving way. This is a big job for us because our roof is partially supported by the porch. Steve came out and looked the porch over and we told him we wanted a wooden porch and it needed to be Brazilian hardwood. He came back with an estimate which was high but knowing that wood was expensive we said ok. Signed the contract on June 2 and gave him 1/3 down and was told it would be a couple of weeks. We wanted to have a city permit because we didn't want any trouble with the construction. The couple of weeks turned into 3 1/2 months before started the job and a few thousand extra that he didn't tell us about up front. One happened to be that he did not have a current license with the city. The job would have taken even longer if I hadn't gotten involved and contacted my alderman who put me in touch with the city building department. I ended up having to get the permit put through, even though Steve hired an expediator to do it, at an addition large cost to us. I also ended up getting the inspections scheduled because Steve didn't know how to do it! The only saving grace in this whole process was the carpenter, Jan. He did an amazing job on our porch! Wish we could have just hired him and not gone through Brighton. read more

I needed to have a double paned window replaced. It was a wooden window, which I have several in my 1911 built home. I thought there would be a problem when I asked to have the wooden window replaced with another wooden window. Steve Draths, my salesman, said there would not be a problem. It would take about 4 to 6 weeks to fabricate the window. It was not installed until 8 weeks later. It was well worth the wait. The window is beautiful and the installers were just the nicest guys. Very polite, explained to me what they were doing and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely use Brighton Home Products for future work. read more

I had 2 new sliding doors, 2 decks and a new roof installed by Brighton, all of this activity occurred on the 4th floor of my home. I would absolutely use Brighton again for another project. From the initial quote thru finishing the project i could not be happier. All tradesmen who did the work were professional, courteous, and prompt. Work happened when they said it would and was completed to my satisfaction. Any issues that came up, there was 1, were brought to my attention and we talked about what needed to happen before additional work was done. I'm sorry to say these guys have completely dropped the ball for me. Trying to buy a new front door, I had one disastrous experience with another company and turned to Brighton with good referrals and high hopes. At the beginning they were very attentive and meticulous in taking measurements. I was given a date of delivery for the door and told that they wouldn't pester me with "updates" until nearer the installation date. Fair enough. Installation date came and went so I e-mailed and then phoned. Apparently my salesman was no longer there, and had "dropped the ball". They also said the manufacturer had kicked my order down the road since it was such a small order. (Pity no one at Brighton held their feet to the fire on my behalf.) Four months after my initial contract with Brighton I was then told that the door would be another 8 weeks, and even then, they couldn't guarantee it because it's out of their control. I asked for a discount for the late delivery and was offered $200 (on a $4500 door); when I expressed my disappointment, the salesman asked if I wanted my deposit check back. Ironically, it reached me within two days. I guess my order was too small to really be of value to them. read more

If I could give NEGATIVE stars for this company I WOULD!! Based off of the good reviews I found here and on the internet, I scheduled an estimate for fencing with Brighton Home Products. Steve came 10 minutes late (fine- no big deal). I introduced myself and we shook hands. I was wrapping up another meeting with someone at my home but I showed Steve the project at hand. Steve then said he would re-park his car and come back in 5 minutes. After like 20 minutes, Steve was nowhere to be found. I called his cellphone number which he gave me when we set up the appointment TWICE- there was no answer. After like an hour, I called the office at Brighton Home Products and a man picked up. I asked the guy if he knew where Steve was and whether he was coming back because I couldn't reach him. The guy said he would call Steve to let him know and have him call me. There was no return call. After another 45 minutes, I called office AGAIN, the guy said "I don't know what to tell you, I called Steve and Steve just said OK and nothing else." STEVE NEVER CAME BACK. I waited at my house for another 3 hours before I gave up and left home to run errands. They wasted my time and ruined my day. I've dealt with my fair share of contractors in the past but I've NEVER dealt with THIS LEVEL OF UNPROFESSIONALISM and just plain RUDENESS. There was no call back and no explanation Why even show up if you had no intent on taking the job?! They now lost a $XX,XXX project and a customer for life! They came highly recommended to me to replace a window of mine. They want to be paid immediately, but the window takes weeks or order. That so far is not unusual. The salesman was only nice when you are buying something. Installation was cancelled due to weather a few times but nobody explained to me the reasoning, but was finally done. There were problems right away so I called and someone came out. The salesman yelled at me and said I was being too picky and there was no pleasing me. This window has a lifetime guarantee! I had more problems in spring and so I called again and they sent the company who made the window out. It is ok now, but not perfect, like you would expect to pay for a $3,000 window! And it turns out I was dealing with not just a salesman but one of the owners. I won't be using them again for recommending them. Who needs that kind of attitude! read more

Horrible. I was trying to get a patio door repaired. This is difficult, so the very first question I asked was - do you repair patio doors. Yes! Great, gave them all the information to come out that week. I get a call to tell me that they in fact, don't repair paito doors. I had some screens that I needed repaired so they were going to come look at it any way. The next week, when they hadn't come I called them, which took 2 calls and 3 days to get a call back. Days later they went, gave me a quote (VERY high) for a new patio door and "forgot" to look at the other screens. So, now I am 10 days in and have absolutely no resolve - and a whole lot of frustration! Based on this experience - NOT RECOMMENDED! read more

My family has utilized Brighton Home Products as long as I can remember, from the days of storm windows & metal awnings on this 64 year old house. Now that I own the home I grew up it, it needed so much work after 30 years of neglect, trying to be a savvy consumer I researched other companies, got bids on projects and checked out quality. Again I returned to Brighton Home Products calling Steve each time for help, in dealing with yet another home project, as always he is a pleasure to deal with, highly professional, he will listen to want you want as well as give you suggestions & insight to current projects, trends within the industry relating to your needs. More so he is a no pressure kind of guy to deal with unlike some of the other companies out there. I have had Storm doors, replacement windows and a bathroom remodel all done by this company, soon to be kitchen remodel next all because I am sold on the quality and service provided. FYI: The contractors they use are true skilled "old school" craftsmen, the carpenters, plumbers, electricians and helpers are impressive from the skill of their work to the attention to minute details to the clean up & respect of your home. You do not find this in the "Big Box Stores", these are the guys you should have called in the first place because (HD) screwed you over with crap product & work in the first place. read more

I have used Brighton Home Products twice now in the past year, both with unbelievably good service and professional, excellent quality to the work performed. Steve, the owner, was recommended to me by family that live in the Chicago metro area. I live in north central WI, and knew no one in the area to help us get my deceased mother-in-law's home updated (it needed an expansive new front door) to be ready for the spring real estate market. I called Steve, explained the time line and that I would only be in town for the weekend. Steve immediately understood the circumstances, and sent Tim, the door salesman (and a great guy, as well) down to meet my husband and I on a SUNDAY morning. That is service! The door was ordered and Brighton's excellent crew, Jason and Carlos, put it in a short time later. Two months later, we found ourselves purchasing and renovating a three story town home in the suburbs. Again, I called Steve and he was attentive; he even accompanied us to several properties to help us decide how to sort through renovations. I don't know many contractors who would take the time to help prior to a purchase, but Steve was able and willing. Again, we were crunched by a circumstantial timeline and Steve made it work. A total renovation of a kitchen, three baths, flooring, electrical, painting and roof repairs occurred with relative ease. Brighton worked with my handpicked sub contractor for flooring well, and he managed his crew and his recommended subcontractors professionally. My timeline was adhered to and I couldn't be happier with the results. It is worth mentioning that Steve handled a few curve balls I threw at him without blinking an eye, and all major additions, like door replacements and fireplace surrounds and tiling were done exactly as I hoped and within the initial timeline. Steve is as honest as the day is long, on the job site every day and a great manager of crew and subcontractors. Anyone thinking of using Brighton will not be disappointed with the experience or the results. read more

I recently ordered a Pella storm door from them and had it installed. Everything went well. In the past I have had difficulty finding someone to install a single storm door, as most of the companies are not interested in such a small job. Brighton Home Products sells Pella Storm doors as well as other brands and the installation went smoothly. I will use them again for other projects, large or small. read more
