I've waited about three weeks to write this review.....I wanted to give Brighton Ford a chance to "make it right". I'm sad and upset to say that didn't happen. About 4 weeks ago I went into Brighton Ford to lease a new Ford Edge. This was the third time I have purchased a vehicle from the same sales associate at Brighton Ford. I have to say truthfully that I was very happy when I left Brighton Ford with my new Edge. That's where the happy story ends and the problems begin. The next day I went to try and start my Edge and it wouldn't start. When I pressed the start button/break nothing happen and in the window on the left side of the front console the warning screen was going crazy. I waited a couple minutes and tried agiain and it started. This issue happen at least 5 times over the next couple days. But that isn't the worst of it. A couple days later, I was on my way home on a very busy 696, I pressed on the gas and nothing happen absolutely nothing. Thank God, I was able to pull off to the side of the highway without getting in an accident. I turned the car off and waited for my heart rate to return to normal. I turned the car back on and tested the gas. It seemed to be back to normal and I was able to drive the rest of the way home without it happening again. The very next morning it happen again on my way to work in the middle of rush hour traffic in downtown Ann Arbor. Ok, now I was really scared!! I immediately called my sales associate at Brighton Ford and left a message. He called me back a little after 9am. He told me that there was nothing he could do for me do to the fact that I was in Ann Arbor and he was in Brighton. He said to take my vehicle to the nearest Ford dealer. "Wait what??????" He also reminded me that I was given a package where I could rent a car for $35 a day if needed. "What the.....????" I was shocked. This is a huge safety issue!!!!! I was waitting for him to care. I was waiting for him to say " Bring the car back ASAP, we'll give you a car to use while we fix your new Edge". Neither of those things happen. I was able to get my car into Briarwood Ford the next day and was thankfully able to use a relatives vehicle during that time. Briarwood Ford had my Edge for a week and couldn't figure out the issue. Extremely upset my husband called the Brighton Ford sales associate who proceeded to tell my husband there must have been some miscommunication. He would be happy to have his service people look at the car and give me a loaner. "Miscommunication" my butt!!!! I picked my Edge from Briarwood Ford and drove it up to Brighton Ford. To make a long story short Brighton Ford also had my Edge for 5 days. They couldn't find the issue either. During that time I talked to the new sales manager at Brighton Ford. I expressed my concern about my safety with this new Edge. He didn't seem to care at all. He was very rude and basically told me that the papers are signed and it's my issue now. I couldn't believe. I do have to say that the service manager and service team members were nice and seemed to be the only ones who really cared. One of the service members suggested I call Ford Motor company and start a case with them. Which I have. It's now almost a month later and my car is now back at a different dealer because I do not want to deal with Brighton Ford ever again. I have only been able to drive my Edge for about 6 days. Of those 6 days, I only had one day were there wasn't some issue with the car. This has been the most frustrating new car experience I have ever had. No one in the new sales division at Brighton Ford or Ford Motor company seem to care about me or my families safety. I have been a very loyal Ford customer for about 25 years. The first car I bought after college was a Ford. I have been buying or leasing Ford vehicles ever since. I don't understand why they( Brighton Ford and/or Ford Motor Company) aren't willing to stand behind there product. I don't understand why given the fact that the problem with the vehicle started immediately why can't they just "exchange" the car for another Edge that (cross our fingers) doesn't have this issue. Yes, I know there is paperwork involved, I'm sure they might have to jump thru some hoops and maybe they (Brighton Ford) might loose a little money in the deal but..... Isn't the safety of their loyal customers important to Brighton Ford. From my experience, I would strongly say NO! read more

Its to NO surprise that they have a 1 star rating... this so-called "customer service" driven stealership. LOL Here is my google review with a reply to the "response from owner." I must say I HAVE to laugh when I see responses from the owner stating "customer satisfaction is our number one priority!" HAHA! Let's get this straight. We ALL know car salesman are anything but trustworthy individuals. However, I have bought MANY cars from MANY different dealerships across the country and I have NEVER come across one just as crooked as @brightonford @brightonfordmi. Todd was our salesman in used cars, @adammckimmy also became involved, ultimately making the decision not to help us and the owner backed him. We were CONNED into believing we were getting an extended warranty on our vehicle we bought from them. They said it was "included in the price." When they put the paperwork in front of us, we quickly realized something wasn't right. The price at the top wasn't the price we agreed on. Todd said that's because some of the numbers below roll up into that number, so we were really getting it for what we agreed on. For SOME reason, we fell for it. When we got home, I realized NONE of the numbers rolled up, but of course down. Rather than the extended warranty be included in the deal, they tacked on an extra $2350!!! Talk about a CROOKED stealership! I went back the very next morning to confront them. They said "we would never lie, we would never lie. We aren't like that here." THEY LIED.... THEY STRAIGHT UP LIED! We were going to pursue the amount in court. They immediately hired an attorney. CUSTOMER SERVICE??? LOOOOOOOL! WE WANTED TO SUPPORT LOCAL AND ENDED UP A TERRIBLE MISTAKE!!! IF WE CAN PREVENT EVEN A FEW PEOPLE FROM BUYING A VEHICLE HERE, WE WILL BE HAPPY. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS!!! BRING YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE! TRUST ME! YOU'LL BE HAPPY YOU DID! Note: We took them to small claims. They referred us civil court due to the nature of the claim. We never even went to civil court because it wasn't enough money worth hiring an attorney. We did file but RATHER than the "CUSTOMER SERVICE" that they talk about, they hired an attorney instead! Great "customer service!" We never actually went to court. Thanks to Salesman Todd Cowen!....Story with this... I had a 2006 Cadillac and loved it.. but it was getting up in miles and starting to cost me money in repairs... So I started looking for another one... I called Todd who sold me cars before.. asked if he had any low millage used Cadillacs on the lot.. He always can get me what I want if I give him time... He told me ... "You should look at the new Taurus Limited ... I have a few 2013 with low miles!" I said .."Taurus?.. What?... ... you go drive a Taurus!... I drive Cadillac's .. I'm not 80 years old.. I don't want no ugly Taurus!" So anyway he got me to come down and look at a BMW... and while I was there he said.. " Just go look at the Taurus...I'm telling you.. they're sweet" .. So I shook my head and said..."OK... let me go look at the geriatric mobile" Well I can tell you something... Ford has outdid themselves by miles... I test drove it... it drives like a dream.. more power than my Cadillac..more interior room than my STS...more trunk space.. 19" wheels... more Options and Features than my Cadillac.. the Fit and Finish is impeccable... Car drives and sounds as tight as a drum. "Microsoft Sync" in the car... All LED displays and screens... back-up camera and 'cross traffic warning indicators when you back up so no one can swipe you coming out of a parking spot in a mall. I can confidently back this car up anywhere and never even need to look behind me. And the power adjustable seats... Steering wheel and brake and gas pedals make this car the most comfortable car I have ever driven.. the more I drive it... the more I love it!! And to top it all off.... gone is the ugly old Taurus body style... they made this thing pretty! The world of the Automobile has certainly changed!! And Ford has taken a mid-priced car and gives you plenty of reason to not buy in the mid-priced luxury market!! Thank you Ford for saving me a bunch of money! I had to take some time and share my experiences with Brighton Ford!! My husband and I have bought six vehicles from their pre-owned lot, where we normally work with two people who have become more like family, George Hawes and Dave Livermore. We know we are being treated fairly and nothing hinky will find it's way in to any of our dealings! We don't always know exactly what we want, but, God LOVE 'em, they are patient and they always find us the right vehicle for our families needs, and have never put us in the "poor house" to "make a buck" = like you hear soooo many places doing. We have sent our kids over when they were in the market, and they were treated with respect and found great vehicles! And now to the service dept, needless to say = but I am here, so I will = THEY ARE GREAT!! We may not always want to pay for new tires or brakes, but, we know that when we are, we actually need them and we are getting the security of knowing that Ford Certified Mechanics are working on our vehicles! And coming from a woman who has seen her years...I am not afraid to bring my car in to get checked out. I know they aren't trying to sell me anything my vehicle doesn't need and I know their pricing is competitive for the work itself, not to mention the Ford OEM parts I will be getting installed in my car, that won't void my warranty!! I have read some of these other reviews and I have to say I am surprised. I understand that being in the position to have to purchase a car isn't always the most desired for some people, but, the people that work there are human and they are customers too...so try to keep that in mind next time you are blaming them for a situation not of their making. My experience with Brighton Ford proved to me that some companies still care about their customers. Their motto for some time has been "customers for life" and I truly believe that to be true. I bought a 2010 Taurus from Mike Tabacchi about a month ago. Upon taking it home I noticed shaking when driving on the expressway. I brought the car to the service department and spoke with Cody who took the time to assure that the car was being taken care of on time and under warranty. Not all cars are perfect when you drive them home. But Brighton Ford service do their very best to fix any problem that might arise. Short story it was a part on the rear wheel and the tires that were making the car shake both replaced by Brighton Ford for free. Todd Spitler, the owner of the Dealership went above and beyond to help out a customer to make the vehicle right. I will always go back to buy my cars from Mike Tabacchi and Brighton Ford. All salesman here are great but I have delt with Mike 5 times now and he is in my opinion the best. See him and you will NOT be dissapointed. read more

I was pleased by the assistance provided to me by Mr Todd Cowen and the expertise he also provided in locating my vehicle of choice. Mr. Cowen at Brighton Ford provided me with complete details on the vehicle I wanted to buy and also on all options available on the car. His knowledge of the business also helped me a lot in how well he handled the loan I needed to purchase the vehicle and also got me the lowest interest rates of any dealer I had seen to date. Saved me thousands even though I had marginal credit. Todd and his finance manager acquired me a very low interest rate. I would definitely recommend Mr. Todd Cowen to future friends and family. Upon buying my new 2011 ford fusion he also creating financing that I didn't even know I was qualified for due to my prior credit issues. I was looking for a certain trim package on a 2020 Escape. Brighton Ford had it in inventory. I used the email contact regarding the on-line inventory I found. Within 30 minutes I was contacted on the phone by Jeff Johnston. In another 30 minutes I was at the dealership and it was after 5 pm. I test drove the one I wanted, tried an Edge for comparison, but I was committed to the Escape. I traded in my 2015 Escape. The whole process was was smooth, fun and I thought Jeff had a very warm and accommodating personality. I am very pleased with the result and the entire process was actually a FUN buying experience for me and I have had a LOT of them. Jeff was great. He was not at all fazed by staying until 7 to get my deal put together. I took delivery the next day and am so happy with my new car and the experience I had (first time) at Brighton Ford. We needed a new engine for our 2019 Ford Escape. Brighton Fors quoted us $5000. We went for another opinion and the other garage wasn't interested in that big of a job so we stuck with Brighton Ford. 3 months after the engine was replaced we had a very loud knocking in the engine so we took it back to Brighton Ford. They again quoted us $5000 for a cracked fly wheel. interesting that the only way a flywheel gets cracked is due to an improperly installed engine. But Brighton Ford believes they had nothing to do with it and weren't willing to help us out with the pricing at all. If anyone can tell me how a flywheel gets cracked other than during an engine installation please let me know. Otherwise I will always believe it happened at Brighton Ford and they completely covered up for their mistakes. We went to Thurmans Auto in Howell and they fixed it for $2000. I had to give at least one star to give my review otherwise they wouldn't get any. read more

My husband had emailed and received a quick response. We had an appointment scheduled for 6:30 that same evening with Dominic. I needed to reach out to them in regards for turning my mom's lease in early due to her death. I decided I was interested in leasing an Explorer due to having 7 seats to haul my grand-kid crew around. It ended up being a positive experience, my sister and I walked away from the balance of lease payments free and clear. They were interested in her car due to the low mileage being she was in her 3rd year of the lease. That did not work out (GM Cruz) with everything going on in DC with GM. Walking away free and clear is all we wanted. My husband and I did end up leasing a 2014 Explorer and are very happy with it. My kids call it the "General". TODD COWEN-AWESOME!! A friend of mine contacted Todd for me as they have done business many times over the years . Todd called ME immediately and I told him I was interested in leasing an Escape. I gave him some basic info and told him the monthly payment range I needed. He said he would call me later that evening and he did just as he promised. I went to the dealership on Friday around 1:30 and test drove an Escape and indicated the color I would prefer. I told Todd to call me after he did credit check and let me know what my options for leasing would be. By 3:30 he called me with approval and before close of business day on Friday I was driving my new Escape home! Todd Cowen...definitely a very good salesman! Knows about the vehicles he sells and also has a very broad and precise knowledge about the automobile business. He loves his job and conveys that sentiment to all. Don't know what everybody else is talking about in these reviews, but I try and switch vehicles approx every 2 or 3 yrs and I will look for very specific vehicles up to 250 miles from my house. I cannot comment on the new car or service teams, but my experience with the entire used vehicle team at Brighton Ford ranks right up there as one of the best I have had and Todd leads the way. Trade price on my old vehicle was very good, finance rate packages were very good, very low and available from multiple sources. So, if you know what you are looking for and you have a decent credit rating and record, there is no reason not to go to Brighton Ford and contact Todd. Well worth the drive! read more

I ordered a 2021 F350 Diesel pick up in January of 2021from Brighton Ford just as the "Chip Shortage" was starting to surface during Covid. They put my order in right away and I had my truck in less than 2 months. It's been a great truck except for 1 thing. The emissions system is an ABOMINATION at best. 2 issues in the first 35K miles. Brighton Ford has handled both of them in a timely and professional manner. The staff is easy to work with, knowledgeable and friendly. Could not be happier with the service. They have also resolved an issue with our 2017 Fusion Hybrid's (great car) ABS system. Again, in a timely and professional manner and at a reasonable price. I believe good customer service is meeting the customers expectations and GREAT customer service exceeds the customer expectations. That is exactly what I experienced when I bought a car a couple weeks ago. Customer service was simply amazing! Mike and the sales manager Adam far surpassed my expectations. I brought up a couple of issues I thought the car might have, they not only acknowledged my concerns and fixed them, but also noticed a couple of other minor issues that I had missed and fixed those as well. This is exactly the kind of place that gave car salesmen slimy reputations. Staffed with a army of silly macho jerks who treat potential customers with disrespect. We TRIED to purchase a car for my wife and even though I repeatedly told the sales weasel to deal with my wife and not me he continued to act as if she wasn't there and kept directing all of his attention to me. When I finally walked away he acted as if he couldn't be bothered any longer. The Neanderthal behavior was almost funny and it cost them a sale. (We went to Spirit Ford in Dundee instead) If you enjoy dealing with boneheaded, frat-boy ex-jocks and bro-boy attitudes, this is your kind of place. read more

If I could give Brighton Ford a negative value, I would. My Ford Explorer was due for a recall and after 3 different chat sessions and 5 voicemails over a one month period, I still am waiting for someone to call me back to schedule a time for this service to be completed. I even spoke with someone 2 times that assured me someone would be calling me back. I've moved on at this point but what a very poor example of customer service. I guess I am not shocked when I look at the overall view of this business and their 2 star rating. I am not really sure how companies don't focus more on customer service in this day and age. read more

Brought my car in for a manufacturer recall. Service advisor was extremely nice and explained everything that needed to be done in detail. Car was ready earlier than the time they said it would be. Courtesy shuttle driver was super nice and it really helped having this option so I could work at my office while they worked on my car. I've also brought my car in for oil changes and other basic maintenance and have been satisfied with their friendly staff and the work that they do. I've had my 2021 F -150 for just a few months now and I am very pleased with the upgrades in the new model. Scott Pratt made trading in my lease very easy and painless. He was very professional, helpful and friendly. And the workers all did their part with social distancing during the covid. This is my second lease with Brighton and I highly recommend this business. Went into the dealership just to look around, unsure of whether I was going to leave with anything or not. I was greeted by a Jon Atkinson, a salesman there, he made the process go as smooth and stress free as possible. He was very informative and friendly throughout the entire process. The managers made sure I was taken care of by getting me the best rates through the bank. I ended up leaving with a beautiful Ford Escape 2013 and I am very impressed and love the car.
