After waiting for years, my family and I were so excited to hear that a Carvel was finally opening near us. I'm happy to say it's just as amazing as I remembered! The ice cream and soft serve are absolutely delicious, and there's nothing else quite like them. It's hard not to get addicted! If you've never had Carvel before, you definitely need to stop by and give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

I ordered a hot white mocha with half and half and it was very very good. I enjoyed it. The one thing was interested in was the savory "biscuit and gravy cinnamon rolls" not gonna lie...my ass bought one. My standards were set high af. They looked good. Really good. But as soon as I tasted it I started to taste cinnamon. I don't know if my taste buds were WANTING to taste it because I was used to an actual cinnamon roll or if it was actually made with added cinnamon. Either way it was not good. It threw the whole thing off. I was so wanting it to be good. I even had my partner taste and the same thing was shared that it tasted like cinnamon was added to the roll. I will be back for coffee just not for a savory dish lol.

They have many pastries that just look divine, and not to mention some of the best macarons I've yet tried. It was such a sweet atmosphere and added on to that with how friendly the barista was. The coffee is delicious, well made and strong with the perfect bit of flavoring. I also tried one of their seasonal refresher drinks which had coconut milk, and either raspberry or strawberry and it was amazing. Really fruit in it and you could just tell it was fresh and had good ingredients in it. Starbucks refresher ain't got nothinggg on this. So dang good. Will definitely be trying to find a reason to visit this area again just so I can come back here.

Freshly Roasted Perfection in Venice…read more I stopped into Black Gold Coffee Roasters and was blown away. I ordered an iced mocha that was absolutely delicious - you can really taste the coffee through the chocolate instead of it being overly sweet, which I loved. The coconut macaroon I got on the side was phenomenal and paired perfectly with the drink. They're roasting beans less than 20 feet from where I was sitting, and even before we walked in, you could smell the coffee from the parking lot. It adds so much to the atmosphere knowing everything is that fresh. Service was top notch: super friendly, accurate with the order, and genuinely down to earth and inviting. This place feels like a true local gem, and I will definitely be returning.

They have very cozy indoor and outdoor seating, and friendly and engaging staff. The owner was present and happy to chat with us with helpful tips about visiting the area. You can tell she takes a lot of pride in her business and the quality of product they deliver. In addition to caffeinated beverages and bakery items, they have an impressive menu of sandwiches and lunch items. We kept things simple by ordering an iced cafe mocha, a dark roast coffee, and a chocolate croissant. You can tell they use high quality ingredients since the iced cafe mocha had chocolate flakes in them, but somehow managed to accent the beverage perfectly without making it too sweet. The chocolate croissant tasted absolutely delicious and had a wonderful chocolate filling inside unlike most traditional recipes...we both agreed it was great and tasty. The owner mentioned she gets her croissants from Europe and does the filling and final baking on premises to serve it hot. I'm not aware of any bakeries that go to all that trouble, but it makes for a high quality product. All in all, an excellent coffee and pastry experience at By The Bay Bistro...it's a place I hope to return to and would recommend to others visiting the Venice, Florida area.
