My family and I have been coming to her for many years, and every single visit reaffirms why we continue to trust her with all of our eye care needs. She is incredibly caring, patient, helpful, and remarkably knowledgeable. It's rare to find someone who consistently goes above and beyond for their patients, but Dr. Lomonaco does just that. Her staff is equally fantastic--friendly, professional, and always a pleasure to interact with. Even after moving out of the area, we happily make the drive (sometimes over an hour) just to see her. That's how much we value the quality of care she provides. The office is clean, well-maintained, and has enough space for smaller families to feel comfortable during visits. They also offer a great selection of glasses and frames, which makes the process convenient and enjoyable. While parking can occasionally be a challenge (it is The Bronx, after all), it's a small price to pay for such outstanding service. I am absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated at Raymond Opticians in New Rochelle,…read moreparticularly by an employee named Jessica. Jessica is completely unprofessional, rude and arrogant. My problems with Jessica started back in December when I went to pick up my glasses. She came out appearing visibly frazzled, rushed and upset. While handling my glasses in that state and handing them to me, she BROKE them. She then gave me another pair and basically said, "Here, just take these." About a month later, I returned and asked a very reasonable question: What happened to the original glasses that were broken? Instead of simply explaining what happened, Jessica immediately became extremely defensive. Since that incident, I have noticed a complete change in the way she treats me whenever I need assistance. She has been rude, dismissive and unprofessional. Today was the final straw. I requested my contact lens prescription because I wanted to purchase my contacts through Costco. The prescription that was sent to me was incomplete and was missing necessary information, including the diameter and other information needed to fill it. I called the office, explained that information was missing and was told they would send the corrected prescription right away. They didn't. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, I called back because I still had not received it. While I was simply trying to get this resolved, my calls kept getting disconnected. Eventually Jessica got on the phone. Instead of professionally asking how she could help me, she began speaking to me in what I perceived as an extremely sarcastic and mocking manner. She said things like, "What's the matter, Larissa? Are you upset? What's going on?" and told me I was yelling. The way she was speaking to me felt like she was mocking me and making fun of the fact that I was frustrated. I explained that I was in a loud environment and was not intentionally yelling. Rather than simply resolving the issue, she continued with the attitude and then said to me, "DO YOU WANT YOUR PRESCRIPTION OR NOT?" She then HUNG UP ON ME. I could not believe that an employee would speak to a customer that way over something as simple as requesting a complete copy of a prescription. I have also since heard from others that Jessica has a reputation for being rude to customers. I cannot personally speak to anyone else's experience, but based on the way she has repeatedly treated me, hearing that certainly did not surprise me. I genuinely do not understand how an employee can treat customers in such a rude, sarcastic, mocking and dismissive manner and continue to represent a business. This wasn't one bad interaction. My issues with her began when my glasses were broken in December, continued when she became defensive after I asked what happened to them, and culminated today with her mocking me, asking, "Do you want your prescription or not?" and HANGING UP ON ME. Completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. I have contacted Raymond Opticians management directly because I believe they need to know how customers are being treated at their New Rochelle location. I absolutely cannot recommend this location.

Rich truly went above and beyond to help me. He took the time to make sure I received the correct prescription and that I had everything I needed in time. What could have continued to be a very stressful and frustrating situation was completely turned around because of Rich. He listened to my concerns, treated me with respect and genuinely seemed to care about helping me resolve the issue. This is exactly what excellent customer service should look like. They claimed the exam takes 25 minutes, which has not been my experience elsewhere. It is clear they care more about hitting the exit door than helping a new patient who was ready to buy a nice pair of frames. They tried to reschedule me for tomorrow, but I declined. I will be taking my business to an office that actually values its customers.
