I had an evening gown tailored here and the seamstress did a wonderful job. I was very happy with the length she measured it to on me. It was a double hem and she did a good job. It cost $65 and payment is upon drop off. A sign says there is a cash discount. I dropped it off on a Friday and it was ready the following Wednesday. My brother also gets his work shirts laundered here. It costs $5, which is a few dollars cheaper than another cleaners in the neighborhood. read more

HAD TO CALL THE POLICE AFTER PAYING to get my item. Crooked people. Harassed and held hostage in this store for an hour while the seamstress refused to give me the things I PAID FOR. Needed a simple hem for an event the following day and said I would pay for rush. The seamstress agreed & said to pick it up the next day at 10 AM. The business was closed when I got there the next day. When I went to pick up the dress two days later I expressed we obviously misunderstood and I would not be paying the rush fee but will for the hem. The seamstress said we never had that discussion (I have witnesses) called me crazy and said I had to pay the entire price ($70 for a two inch hem) or she would keep the dress. I paid the entire amount & AFTER SWIPING MY CREDIT CARD & TAKING MY PAYMENT... SHE MADE ME PROVE MY IDENTITY in order to give me my dress back because the signature on my license from when I was 16 looked different from the one I signed to pay for the dress! She harassed me asking me for my ID, my license, my credit cards, and drivers license number and asked for my credit card number as well as CVC code. I showed her everything in my wallet in including my valid NY STATE drivers license, credit cards, photo ids, library cards, they all match and expressed how this was not necessary. She did not give me my dress back & kept the receipt. She refused saying she was "teaching me something" & held me hostage in her store for an hour telling me she was not going to give me my dress back after I had paid for it. I had to call the police and she finally gave me my dress back that I owned and had paid for regardless of any dispute. She harassed me, got in my face, touched me, tried to reach into my wallet, and I had to call people to come help me. Do with this what you will. read more

After moving to the area I have been looking for a honest and reliable cleaner in a few blocks radius and had issues with the first two that I tried out. Finally, I came across Bright cleaners and decided to give them a shot. They were really wonderful, All my husband's shirts came back beautiful and spotless. So far, all the clothes I've sent have come back impeccable and smelling like clean laundry should. I also sent my husband's cashmere sweaters which they took very good care of. They make it very easy for you by picking up and dropping off for free. All you have to do it call to let them know you have laundry ready for them to pick up. Also, I tried their tailoring services and they did not disappoint. I had to have a silk dress taken in and they did an excellent seamless job. The owner, Caludia, is very trustworthy and is always available if I have any questions or issues about the garments. The dry cleaner closest to where I live is great quality but WAY overpriced (and cash only). No bueno. Last weekend, I took a short walk around the neighborhood and spotted Bright Cleaners. The woman behind the counter was upfront about the cost of each item and very nice. My clothing (mostly work suit pieces) was delivered on Monday afternoon as promised and in excellent condition. No funny smell, and it was very well-pressed. I also had them repair some buttons on my trench coat ($2 per button). I'm so glad I found this place! read more

I always liked this neighborhood cleaner, but they just saved half my winter work wardrobe, so I'm super-happy. I put 4 suits, a jacket and a pair of pants into my dryer with a couple of those "dry-clean it yourself" sheets. The sheets work ok to freshen, but I left a dark red indelible MAC lipstick in a pocket. It melted, leaked out and nearly every inch of these clothes were covered in streaks or a film of red lipstick. The woman behind the counter told me she'd never seen anything that bad, she was really nice about it and said they'd do their best. I just got them all back last night. They had to hand spot-clean the items for hours. They put them through cleaning 3 times. All of them are as good as new! read more

Overpriced and shady owner - dry cleaning is expensive and to hem a pair of pants she quotes $20!! Last time I took 3 pairs of pants and she charged ($54). When I asked why higher than I paid in the past ($16 - she checked the system) she said she was giving me a deal at $17 each (do the math - it was $18) and that prices went up because rent went up and it's comparable for the area. $ Ps - it is not, I checked. Worst customer service!! I got a pair of Uggs cleaned there and I was not happy with how they came out. The fur lining came back a coarse and matted mess. When I confronted the owner she told me the lining was exactly the same as when I dropped them off (which is not true) and then walked away from me mid conversation. She's done permanent damage to expensive boots and doesn't even have he decency to have a conversation about it. People who treat their customers that poorly don't deserve to be in business. read more

My go-to dry cleaning and laundry place in the UES. They do their cleaning on-site and do not send out. Clothes come back nice and don't have the typical dry cleaning smell. Laundry is great. They sort and fold. Wonderful. read more

This cleaners not only pressures u to get things dry cleaned when it can simply be washed bc the label instruction also says it but the lady who is in front, also the owner is known around the neighborhood to do ANYTHING to get the business....! I happened to be talking to a neighbor while walking my dog and she also told me shes heard from doormen from her building as well that asks them out on dinners w her so she can get business...... yuck.....! Not only is she not professional but has no work ethics or self respect....! My clothes came out w holes and she didnt even apologize or offered to do anything for me......... never going back there! Bright Cleaners is the best in the neighborhood, and walk around any day you can see how evident it is they are the best. Claudia, the owner, is very reliable, and there was a negative review stating she has no work ethic....no debates but that is far from the the truth. Every customer knows she is available at all operating hours. Everyone has the right to their own opinions, but I believe the slander about the work ethics of the sole proprietor is completely false. Have been a regular customer of this cleaner since moving to the area over a year ago. Last week brought in 8 shirts and 1 coat, and only received back 7 shirts and the coat. Unfortunately did not realize this until two days later when my husband went to wear one of the shirts. I felt compelled to write a review as I was treated so awful by the owner/manager. I was informed right from initially going in "You lose shirt, customer always say this then they find item in closet. Go check closet." She then blamed me for not counting the shirts upon leaving, but I am nine months pregnant and was carrying groceries on the day I picked this up, so forgive me if counting the shirts was not my top priority. Lastly she informed me she checks all the shirts when the come in. The advertising and signs all indicate that work is done on premise, which is clearly a false statement as the shirts do get sent out. All in all, they have lost me as a customer, lost my husband's shirt and the manager took this opportunity to share with me her theory that the CUSTOMER is ALWAYS WRONG. She indicated she has plenty of customers and does not care if I don't come back. Do yourselves a favor, in a city with multiple dry cleaners per block and do not go here. I've lived in the area for years but never tried this dry cleaners before. What a find! My cream jacket no longer has grubby cuffs and ingrained subway grime. Claudia did her magic and it's clean once more. My old cleaners tried a number of times to clean it and failed miserably. I brought a very expensive shirt to Bright Cleaners hoping they could get red stains out of the sleeves. Another cleaner had washed the shirt in warm water, the colors ran and they told me that nothing could be done. To my amazement, Bright Cleaners returned the shirt to me looking brand new! I recognize that it required lots of effort on the owner's part and I'm grateful. They saved a Robert Graham shirt...bravo! read more
