Haircuts take around an hour, but coloring services can take over 3 hours and are hard to book. You can book haircuts kind of last minute but book coloring a month in advance if you can!

I paid $480 for my appointment and left with hair that looked patchy and not like what we had discussed. While disappointing results can sometimes happen, what bothered me most was the complete lack of communication afterward. I reached out to Masaki on May 13 regarding my concerns and attempted to resolve the issue privately. I never received a response. It has now been about a month, and despite giving plenty of time for a reply, I have been ignored. I did not immediately leave reviews or make public comments because I wanted to give him the opportunity to address the situation directly. Unfortunately, that opportunity was never taken. For $480, I expected a higher standard of work and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Masaki.

This was their "best advice for me" and that I should come back and get both together. I only needed a haircut and this was the only chance I got (I am a SAHM with 2 kids and minimal backup except this day) so I said I would consider it but I need a cut now. It was 6 months since my last. That must have just not been the right thing to say bc I was judged, insulted during the entire session and I got the worst haircut of my life. I can't even get it fixed because it is so much shorter than I wanted. There are huge "texture" discrepancies all over my hair, the most obvious being in the back near my neck. There's also a strand of hair far longer than the entire length of my bob cut. I don't even understand how this happened. I'm so traumatized. I would never recommend this place and will never ever come back. I really had 1 chance to get a cut as a treat to myself, since I really don't have extra time to spare. And now I have to live with this until it grows out, definitely more than 6 more months. If I could give -1000 stars, I would. Please do yourself a favor and find a salon that can do a nice cut for long AND SHORT hair. WITHOUT A PERM TO MAKE IT ALL STRAIGHT FIRST. The skill level here is just so sub par. I could have done it myself.

During the balayage, the stylist cut/thinned (no idea what he did because he never asked me) some of my hair (maybe 10 "snips"?) and they later charged me an additional $70 for the "haircut." This really pissed me off because in the middle of my appointment, I even heard an assistant ask in Mandarin "is she getting a haircut?" and the stylist shook his head. I was really unhappy with my hair that I went to get a hair treatment (for the dry, damaged hair) and toner at a different salon a week later. That stylist even asked "who did your hair?"

They tested a strain on my hair and it turned out red, and said that I wouldn't be able to go ash blonde. I was a bit disappointed to see that it looked nothing like the picture and it was fake rose petals which I thought was weird. I'll give them an A for effort though although it looked nothing like the picture. The massage was amazing. She did a really great job. Most of my massages are pretty rough but she did a great job with light to medium pressure. I really liked the glass of champagne and the chocolate truffles. The private soak was nice but I really enjoyed the sauna. It was definitely a great experience. Came out feeling revitalized. My boyfriend really enjoyed the massage and the amenities.

I finally love my hair! I have never liked my fine, thin, frizzy hair or knew how to style it, often resorting to hats, hankerchiefs or even wigs to hide it. Flat and curling irons, blowdrying, overstyling and semi-permanent extensions damaged it even more. As an actress and performer who is supposed to look trendy and on-point it was even more of a headache. I wanted Instagram model hair, and instead I looked like a homeless, malnourished cocker spaniel. I came to Briggette from a friend's referral who said Briggette was the best hairstylist she'd ever experienced. I've been to many top, expensive salons in NYC and LA over the years and after experiencing Briggette's work now I have to say I agree with my friend. Briggette is the best, hands down. Thank god Rihanna or someone famous hasn't discovered her yet and stolen her away from us normal people. I came in with a horrible dye/highlight job with some burnt-off hair, an all-one length cut that did nothing for me, and some greys. She did a lengthy consult with me, listening to my ideas and what I wanted and then offering her opinion and the best course of action for the condition my hair was in. We spent a long time going over color options, taking into account what would look best for my skin tone, facial features and personality/lifestyle. She redid the highlights, color corrected and gave me a new cut and color that has transformed my hair into the sexy trendy Instagram ready look I wanted! The color and cut has literally taken 10 years off. I've gotton tons of compliments, one friend commented I looked like a "rockstar," another guy that knows nothing about hair said I looked "shiny" and glamorous, some kid in my building hit on me. I wanted it to look natural, and it really has that "maybe it's Maybelline" effect, where I just look overall prettier and hotter and younger than before. I had told Briggette I needed a hair makeover and that's exactly what I got. Bottom line, Briggette takes her time to figure out your individual hair and what will work best for you, and has integrity and vision in her art. I had an amazing experience with Briggette at her studio! Before even meeting, Briggette asked me to send photos of my hair as well as my hair goals. This allowed her to get an idea of what type of service would be necessary to meet my goals, as well as a guesstimate of duration and price - so helpful! I could tell she was passionate about her work just from speaking over the phone and was excited to find out she had a last minute opening the following day. As a student, I have limited time and finances to maintain my hair so in the past I've always had the balayage style as a low maintenance means to lighten up my hair (which is light brown naturally). I also prefer a more ashy look to golden blonde, which is very difficult to do without turning my hair brassy. In the past I've always had a toner put on after the balyage foils, with the colorist's request that I come back to the salon in 1-2 months for another toner (which I never did). Lots of $$ on purple shampoo later, I officially had brassy hair all the time. I searched yelp for someone who had success with blondes and found Briggette! She explained to me some inherent rules when it comes to color, and explained that balayage was not well suited for my hair, which is why the toner and purple shampoo were necessary. She opted to do baby highlights, which I was nervous for, since in my mind highlights meant dark roots and frequent maintenance. I expressed my concerns and Briggette understood. She took her time (which now makes me realize other appointments are so rushed!) and the results were great. The highlights are so small that there's no streaky look and she staggered the height so when the hair grows out there won't be a distinct line against the root; I'm excited to see what they look like as my hair grows in. Signed up to Yelp just to write this review! I thought about getting my hair done at home in London, but had a 5 week NYC trip planned so started researching colourists over here instead. Found this page and couldn't believe how consistent everyone's comments were. Never had my hair coloured professionally before and naturally I have very dark, fine Asian hair - and have always been a bit nervous about going lighter. Saw some photos that another reviewer had posted of herself on here - very similar natural hair to mine, and the result after Briggette had coloured her hair was very close to what I wanted. So I got in touch with Briggette on Instagram and sent her the photo, and after a few exchanges on Whatsapp we had booked in an appointment for my first day in NYC, which was a GREAT decision! Briggette is incredibly warm - I felt like I'd known her for years after about 5 minutes. She is a great host and conversationalist - and most importantly, colourist. She obviously loves her craft and takes it very seriously. She talked me through every step of the process and it felt like a collaboration. I'm so pleased with the results! But even if I wasn't happy, I would definitely have felt comfortable in telling her without any awkwardness - I felt like she really cared. "What can a little color do..........?" I was fortunate enough to get an appointment with Briggette on her business trip to Milan. Since, I am from Switzerland, the trip was accessible. Enough said, she turned my world upside down with a complete, sexy, slick and sophisticated look. She used Redken Shades EQ Gloss on my hair and after it was all done and saw the results, I felt like I drank a "glass of sunshine" that is how radient I looked and felt about myself. I have never colored my hair in my life and it was a big step for me, but felt confident with her talent. Her expertise, creativity, gift for listening to the client's needs and above all passion, makes her work truly ART.... Briggette took me last minute when I had an emergency. I discovered I was gray, and it was either die or wear a baseball hat, which I don't like. They make my forehead sweat and they look funny on me. They look good on Jessica Biel FYI. Anywhoo, Briggette took care of my scalp situation and gave me a nice head of blonde highlights. And I didn't have to wear makeup there bc her salon is private and it's just her, although she could do with a cat. They are so cute. I have one and her name is Meepers. Also, you can say vagina or any curse word you want in there because it's so private. I wondered if the neighbors wondered if she was selling the devil's lettuce, but she said no, bc she does all their hair too! My hair turned out fantastic, my roots are gone and Briggitte's sink is just like the one at the salon. Plus she has these cool fuzzy pillows that look nice and you don't have to deal with a receptionist or waiting. She'll paint you blond like a pro. Some people like pink, or blue. I wish I was that brave but I'm older now, so I'll stick to what works. Also, I'm so hungry but I'm going to eat at 5:30. Now it's 3:30 so what would you guys do? Briggette is the best hairstylist I've ever had. She has amazing taste, will absolutely cater to your needs and give you insightful suggestions. Every time I go to Briggette, i give her free reign to do whatever she wants with my hair (i completely trust her - once she gets to know your personality and taste, she is always spot on with her creations). When I moved to Paris, Briggette flew over for a week coincidentally on vacation, and I had her did my hair in my apartment. You won't find a more accomodating, attentive, and creative stylist anywhere. Before her, I had never had my hair colored, but after leaving my hair in her hands one day, she colored and cut my hair so exceptionally sexy I had my hair colored by her about 3 times after. I know moved to China, but wherever Briggette goes, I follow on facebook and instagram, because I never know where her travels will take her - and in case we are in the same country again, it is an appointment not to be missed! I am blown away by Briggette Baust! I had been waiting to get my hair done for months because I was not confident with anyone that had previously done it. When I reviewed Briggettes's work on her Instagram page I recognized her attention to detail and her ability to capture exactly what the client asked for. Previously I always had a colorist approach my hair with bleach to lift the color. Briggette recognized that my hair was not a candidate for bleach as it would only cause my hair to break and damage. Briggette was confident that to obtain that rich, buttery, blonde I was asking for that she could achieve it through color instead of bleach. I put my trust in her hands and let her do what she does best. A full head of color enriching highlights and a Bayleyage later - I was blown away with the results and needless to say a client for life. After the major color correction, Briggette gave me an amazing haircut to end all haircuts - a cheekbone enhancing, jaw defining, angular bob that gets more compliments then a pair of Jimmy Choo's. My mom was originally referred to Briggette about 10+ years ago, and we can't get enough of her amazing work! She does an incredible job making hair look 100 % natural. I have been a client of Briggette for the past five years, and have been getting blonde highlights to brighten my hair. She always gives great hair advice, especially, when I told her I wanted to stray away from my blonde highlights and go darker (brunette). She gave me some lowlights, and I am glad I listened to her and did not go darker. My honey blonde hair, is beautiful and youthful, and is a great example of her talent. I would never trust anyone else with my hair as much as I trust Briggette. I leave her place happier with my hair than when I arrived. She is always energetic, extremely creative, and experienced in all fields of hair color and hair art. She works wonders on any color of hair (my mom is a brunette, and I am a blonde). I met Briggette while working and her energy was undeniable. She's a fantastic person and her work is as good as her attitude is. When you do something so important as coloring your hair you need to not only trust your hair stylist but you need to make sure that they are loving what they do , otherwise your hair won't be as fab as you'd like it to come out. Briggette, fortunately, has both characteristics and as a result, she does her job well. Absolutely love her admire her for her passion and the work she does is great. I have ethnic hair - ALOT of it that is very hard to manage. I recently mustered up the confidence to dye my hair after 4 years and I'm more than grateful I went to her. She treated my curls with love and made sure my ends didn't split . She's tender with untangling too- for all the curly haired readers, we sure do hate when hair stylist are rough. If anyone knows how to read people, it's Briggette. When someone works this hard and is THIS good, the world deserves to know! I've had awful hair experiences and was nervous to try someone new but after meeting Briggette at the gym and insta-stalking her work, I knew I could trust her with my hair. I came in and she already knew what I wanted!! She truly listened to me and took the time to explain what would look good and what wouldn't by actually bringing out different hair color pieces and showing me. Briggette cares about her clients and I promise anyone who goes to her will leave satisfied and feeling beautiful. We had such a great time talking about everything and I have never felt more comfortable! In her studio, she has her tv playing photos of all of her past clients and they all had gorgeous hair. I was referred to Briggette by my Best friend of 10+ yrs I have been looking for a hair stylist for about a year now. Having gone from being a red head last year, to a blond, I needed someone I could put my trust in. The last few people ruined my hair. It was "fried" to say the least. And so I spent the past 6 months toning it and using a light 10 Developer with the hopes that I would come across the right person. And waaa Laa! It was she! I knew it the second I saw her studies of Guy Tang's work in Cali. (If you don't know him, look him up, he's amazing as well) Not only did she do superb painting on my hair (a true artista) but she cut and styled it, bringing it back to it's health. We still have a ways to go to get it where we want but it is just as beautiful as is. She is warm, friendly, and definitely knows an extensive amount in regards to her craft. This is her passion. I can finally say I found a hairstylist that I trust and will continue seeing regularly. After bouncing around trying several salons who all damaged my hair or did not give me the blonde I wanted I am so relieved to have found Briggette. I recently came to see Briggette for color correction after receiving some seriously botched highlights that left me feeling hopeless. As someone who has suffered from hair loss for years, being able to trust a hairstylist to maintain the health of your hair while also highlighting it, is something I had almost given up on. It has literally been years since I've walked out of a salon completely happy with my hair color. Briggette did a thorough consultation to ensure that we were both on the same page regarding what I wanted. She even took the time to explain where other stylists have gone wrong in the past so that I'll be able to better explain what I want if I see someone other than her in the future. My hair was completely fried from having the bejeezus bleached out of it in recent years. Briggette took my ugly, brassy color and dark, gray-flecked roots to a natural, dark brunette with ashy brown highlights and hints of gold. I found Briggette through Yelp and reached out to her about scheduling an appointment. Briggette responded promptly and communicated with me by email to figure out what kind of appointment I was looking for. She asked for photos of my hair now as well as any Photos of hair goals and we worked together to determine the game plan. When I arrived at Briggette's, the consultation continued! We spoke about what I was hoping for, and then The Artist got to work. It turns out that not only is she an amazing colorist but she is also a fun, genuine and positive person. I really enjoyed our time talking and the hours actually went by quickly. She continued to check in with me as she worked and included me in choosing colors. In the end I went from DRAB to FAB and more than that, had a great time doing it! She also advised me on the next steps and blew me out beautifully. I have been coming to Briggette now for about 1 year after having had multiple disastrous experiences at other salons. I found Briggette through social media and what I immediately loved is that she is very forthcoming with her portfolio, especially before and after pictures. I loved this because you could see that she always achieves a perfect look, color and cut for her clients. Briggette is truly a master colorist. She spends as much time with you as is needed so that she can fully understand the color you are seeking. Briggette listens, is warm and engaging, and a great person to talk to while you are getting your hair done. I especially love that because she has a private studio, I have never felt rushed. Love my hair color! Briggette is an amazing artist and really makes sure that you're happy with her work. When I went in to see her I had 3 colors in my hair due to two previous poor dye jobs. I had light brown roots, a dark brown band in the middle of my hair and lighter ends. All the awesome yelp reviews I saw on Briggette really helped to solidify my decision to go to her. And now I see why she gets these amazing reviews. Briggette was able to get rid of the dark band in the middle of my hair and give me this rich awesome caramel brown color evenly that I wanted for so long! She not only gives you amazing results, but she really cares for the integrity of your hair. I'm the type that loves to change my hair color often and I know that with Briggette as my stylist I will be able to maintain healthy hair and explore different colors =D. I wanted my hair purple so badly. I had followed briggette on instagram and saw her work and knew I had to have her do my hair. I decided to message her on instagram and she was so friendly and set up a time and date with me right away. I came to her private studio, she was friendly, professional and knowledgeable on the hair painting process. I don't really know of any salons that I have gone too that do hair painting so i wasn't too familiar but she explained to me every step she was doing and kept me informed on what was going on. The color came out a gorgeous purple shade and the blowout she gave me was stunning. I wanted a unique color and she gave me the most beautiful purple, magenta shade with hair painting so it was very dimensional. I feel beautiful and would definitely recommend her to anybody. Few people stand out as true talents, and she displays all. An overall experience where your hair and you are the center. Before Briggette colored my hair she told me to get ready to feel like a supermodel and she was right because when she was done I loved my hair more than I ever have in my life!!! She changed my dirty blonde hair into a bright blonde with tiny little face framing highlights that looked totally natural. She used color instead of bleach and was so gentle on my hair, it was shiny and healthy after and I truly feel it has never looked better. I live in LA so I can't see Briggette as often as I'd like but when I get the chance to see her next I will jump on it. Not only is Briggette an amazing hair artist she's also fun and down to earth. They make you wait outside, won't let you in without a mask, take your temperature with an infrared thermometer when you come in, and immediately make you hand sanitize. All the brushes and combs were sanitized MULTIPLE TIMES during JUST my cut, and there were few people in the salon so social distancing was followed.
