Came in for a keratin treatment Monday afternoon. Was very easy to schedule an appointment online. I showed up about half an hour early but was still taken back right away. Amelia did my treatment and she went over the steps first and asked if I had any questions beforehand. Overall had a great experience through out the whole treatment, salon was clean and everyone working there were very nice. Also better prices than others in manhattan for similar treatment. I've tried over salons in NYC and the upper east side in particular and all have been hit or miss, Mure has stayed consistent in quality across different stylists. This review is long over due! I am so happy I found Mure Salon, I have been going for about 2 years now and am always consistently happy with my experience. It's located in an amazing neighborhood and on a great stretch of the UES. The vibe is always great, everyone working at Mure is always friendly and helpful. I personally don't get my hair colored, just cut and occasionally a glaze but I never feel rushed out or less important than customers who are getting more extensive services. A special shout out to Amelia who is amazing! She somehow understands what I am describing and does just that. I have found that it is hard to find a stylist that is able to listen to you and give you what you want but is also honest about what will look best on you. Amelia is just that! read more

Update! I visited recently and had nothing short of an exceptional experience with Benjamin. I was seen right away, and was checked in on during every part of the visit. The wash felt great, and Benjamin made sure I was happy with the length prior to the cut. I got layers and then was styled with beach curls. Let me begin by saying that my hair is extremely thin and challenging to style. I was on the verge of giving up and considering wearing a wig. I decided to give Mure Salon a try, hoping to find a style that would make my hair look presentable. I scheduled my first appointment many years ago and was fortunate enough to have Maria color and cut my hair. Unfortunately, I relocated to San Francisco and tried various salons without success. And more than two years later, Mure is still tops! Mure prides itself on its icy blondes, but fear not my dark haired beauties, they are amazing with brown/black hair too. Benjamin is amazing, his cuts and color are second to none. He gives his honest opinion on what will work and what won't. Benjamin does highlights beautifully, they blend naturally with my hair. Benjamin did a beautiful job on cutting my son's very long hair and I will be bringing my daughter for highlights/balayage in the near future. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Mure also carries my favorite Oribe products which they discount. With NYC more or less out of pandemic mode, Mure is back to offering wine with their services. Amazing salon! read more

I booked with Sergio, who I'd never booked with before at Mure and was absolutely blown away! I came in wanting a balayage initially on my dirty blonde hair, but had previously put pink manic panic that had stained my hair permanently. Sergio talked me through possibilities and situations that might happen due to the dye I'd previously used. I felt like I was in super good care and I loved that he was 100% honest about what might happen with the bleach. As we suspected, the bleach lifted light pink and he had the amazing idea to blend those strands in with a peachy toned color, which he also pointed out would go well with my skin tone and makeup style due to the warmth... he was absolutely right! He mixed the absolute perfect color for me and I cannot get over it, this is my favorite color job I've ever had. Sergio has a strong passion for helping his clients and it is so apparent that he is there to make a difference in people's lives through their confidence. His technical skills are incredible and his ability to think outside the box on my difficult hair situation was so reassuring. On top of all of that he is extremely nice and great to chat to! My colleague, who always has great balayage/highlights (e.g. perfect tone for her base color and complexion, shiny and healthy hair), recommended that I book an appointment at Mure. I have had varying styles of highlights for my entire adult life, and I let my hair grow out during the pandemic when upkeep was just too much. For the past couple of years, my hair has been healthier than ever, so I was reluctant to go back to blonde, but increasing amounts of grey hair pushed me to try something different. Upon arrival at Mure, everyone is quite friendly, and I was struck by how busy it was - a good sign. My colorist, Sagita, thoroughly listened to my hopes and concerns, and gave me a couple of options that she felt would work best for my hair type, base color, skin tone, amount of grey, etc. I went with her advice, and could not be happier with the level of blonde that she lifted to and the toner she chose for the roots and ends. Amelia did my cut, which was perfect, and she took great care to make sure that it was the length I was going for. Sagita and Amelia were a highly courteous, friendly, and professional team, and I left with hair that I am so happy with! I have received so many compliments on how perfectly it brightened up my face, and I was struck by how much healthier it feels than after typically getting color done - even over a week later. I would highly recommend this salon and team, and will definitely be back. read more

You're barely greeted when you walk in, and the overall tone makes it feel like you're inconveniencing them just by being there. I told them multiple times I had a head injury from a concussion and the lack of care was very concerning how abrasively they washed and handled my head. My most recent appointment was a complete failure. I asked for a warm, golden brown and came prepared with multiple reference photos. While the color was processing, I clearly flagged that it was pulling purple. That concern was dismissed, and the product was left on longer. The result was the darkest my hair has ever been, almost black with a cool, purple hue. The exact opposite of what I requested. The color job is all mismatched, the lower part of my hair significantly darker, the roots are sloppy and uneven. When I pointed this out, the response was defensive and dismissive. At one point, I was sarcastically asked if I wanted to "bleach it," which is an inappropriate and careless suggestion for already fine hair. It was mind blowing to have this handled so poorly and then be rushed through a cut that does not look anywhere close to the quality of the past cuts. I followed up requesting a refund, given that this will take months to correct and fade, and received no response for over 48 hours. It's not even about the money - it's about the severe lack of respect. What's most surprising is that this level of defensiveness and lack of accountability was unacceptable, especially after such a grave mistake. Instead of thoughtful adjustment and ownership, the response was dismissive in the moment and silent afterward. Mistakes happen. How they're handled is what defines a business. This was not handled well. NYC has no shortage of salons that can deliver both technical skill and professionalism. This is not one of them. Super easy and convenient. My stylist was Senait and she was fabulous! I showed her pictures of my past haircuts I liked and she did a superb job recreating it. She was friendly and talkative without feeling like she had to talk to me the entire time. She did a fantastic job and I will absolutely go back to see her again. The whole appointment (wash, cut, dry and style) took about an hour and cost $95 (I have relatively long hair, I believe they quote a price range to account for length). The salon itself was busy and a bit loud. It is very bright (likely because they do hair and makeup) and felt more like a party rather than a relaxing place/spa. They have a ton of staff so I was taken back right away. When I went, both men and women were there for haircuts and someone was getting their makeup done. I would absolutely go back and go to Senait again.
