And if you keep up with my Yelps you will know that I gotten a oil change July, Aug and now Sept. 18,000 miles in 3 months. The more I say I will slow down on the miles. I seem to get more. It is OK. So, now I'm walking the dealer lot to see what cars or suv's will be auditioning for my new 2026 vehicle I'll be getting. Bowling and me like traveling and if it is 19 hrs or less. I am driving. Reasons to stay away from this dealership: PREDATORY FEES, BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS, HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE, EXCESSIVE DOCUMENTATION FEE, EXCESSIVE FEES IN GENERAL. On January 2, 2026, I arrived around 5pm to look at a 2024 Toyota Camry SE with about 1860 miles. I was helped by a sales associate, Edwin Negrin. Edwin is an interesting character, he focused this sale by pushing many fees such as, window etch fee, lo-jack type of device (sorry, I forgot the name of the device), doc fee (which I understand, every dealer does this). Some breakdown - the lojack-type device was around 1500$ which Edwin said could not be taken off and when why it can't be taken off, he had no response other than saying he's only a sales guy and not a mechanic. He couldn't explain the window etch fee (300$). The doc fee (800$). I told Edwin the price that I liked to pay and he inquired about financing or cash, I told him I can do either depending on the deal that they give us but I want to make sure that there are no pre-payment penalty that I can pay the car off the next day. He said, all the finance companies that the dealership does business with does not have pre-payment penalties. When I asked about why these fees aren't listed on the price online, he showed us the listing of the car on their website and scrolled down all the way to the bottom which had the disclaimer portion. Extremely predatory behavior; using an umbrella statement to do this. I told Edwin that I am refusing to pay for the lo-jack alternative device; many dealers attempt to do this. I then asked to speak with a sales manager. In comes another interesting individual by the name of "Vinny Ferraro" which Vinny refused to tell me his name initially and never told me his last name (found out from Edwin). Vinny now introduces another fee called the PRE-INSPECTION DELIVERY FEE in the amount of 895$ which Edwin never told us about. This individual was extremely obnoxious and berating to me and another individual who accompanied me to this dealership. He would not let me or my friend talk and when asked about the fees, he would divert our questions with more questions and polarizing statements. He talked over us every step of the way in the conversation. When he left, Edwin would not give his name initially but did at the end. Vinny during the time when he was "talking" to us, offered the vehicle at X price which after a long back and forth, I agreed upon if I would finance the car. So then we agreed upon a price with Edwin after much back and forth and getting ready to start the financing process after filling out their other forms on our phones. Along this whole process, Edwin wanted us to go online and give him a five-star review which is ridiculous to ask of your customer who isn't even a customer yet). So, now comes in a new issue with the pre-payment penalty, Danny - another sales manager stated that there is a pre-payment penalty for the first 6 months. For me, it made no sense to finance and pay more in interest then the discount they were giving me for financing even for a lower price. My person that I was with, and I were led done the wrong path regarding the financing and lied to by Edwin the sales person. Ignorance of the rules that your own company or other companies that you use to finance is NOT AN EXCUSE. Edwin was so pushy, he kept on wanting me to give himself a 5-star review on google right there and then and kept persisting through the end. Edwin is not an honorable person as he lied to us, he kept complaining through the process that he is only making 66$ off this deal. Vinny is also not an honorable person; he displayed narcissistic type of behavior as he did not want to listen during the conversation, he cut me off when I was asking about the fees and other questions and he also cut off the individual that I was with. He (Vinny) just wanted to hear himself talk and was extremely aggressive. Full disclosure - in the end, I did end up buying it because I didn't want to go through this again. Visited this dealer this evening with my daughter & was amazed as no one offered any help. We walked around the lot - passed at least 2 or 3 salespersons while outside - & was never offered any assistance. We then entered the showroom - walked around & still offered no help . We didn't even get a Hello - (Funny Walmart & Home Depot do this to everyone. As we exited the building - there was an older salesperson w gray hair on one side of the door & on the opposite side of the door was a female salesperson - neither one could take a second to ask if we needed help. I was told that I needed spark plugs ($400) I personally just replaced them, so that proves they didn't even check them, along with them trying to get me to pay 1300 dollars for other services I did NOT need! I then got up and went to the desk and said I need my car back I've been here for 2 and a half hours. They proceeded to tell me that my car was not ready and they didn't have my keys yet... meanwhile my car was right outside, and the keys were on the desk. I purchased my 2025 Kia K5 GT-Line from Nick at Kia Bridgewater. The purchasing process was smooth, and the vehicle performed well during the test drive and immediately after purchase. However, within less than 3,000 miles, I needed to bring in the vehicle due to a problematic Kia Access update that caused all remote commands to fail. After that visit, I was not informed that I would need to reconfigure all vehicle profiles and re-pair all connected devices; I chose to overlook this since it is a reprogramming issue that can be addressed later. Today, 4/22/25, I had another service visit that was particularly frustrating and unprofessional. After owning the vehicle for approximately one and a half months, I noticed a high-pitched air/whistling sound coming from near the driver's side door at speeds of 45 mph or higher. This noise is audible to myself and other passengers, including my children, my 90-year-old father-in-law, and my wife. It diminishes the overall comfort and enjoyment of the vehicle. I would not have initiated service for this issue if it were not significantly disruptive, especially since my wife's 2022 Telluride Nightfall Edition does not exhibit this problem. Service staff examined the vehicle and asked me to wait about an hour. Upon returning, I was informed that there was no issue--everything appeared to be sealed and in order, and no noise was detected. I was firm in stating the noise was quite noticeable regularly and specifically during quiet moments without music or conversation, and it causes headaches during longer drives. The service manager, Bob, insisted there was no noise and took a test drive; during this, the vehicle was traveling at 50-55 mph on the highway, and despite my hearing the whistling clearly from the passenger seat, he claimed not to hear anything. This lack of acknowledgment of a consistent, noticeable noise was disappointing, especially given that multiple passengers of varying ages also perceive it. I also discussed the issue with the sales staff who sold the vehicle, but I received little acknowledgment or assistance. But they were determined that we take car home that night, sign some BS contract that if we dont return next day with certified bank check they will charge us like $380 a month. When they said they wanted it but wanted to pay cash the price ballooned $1500. So you only get the internet price if you finance though them with a very high rate. TLDR: I'd avoid this place -- rotten culture in an already rotten industry. Don't believe me? I'm seeing some other rough reviews populating the sidebar as I write this. Backstory... My wife and I were looking into buying a Kia Telluride. (For what it's worth, we are no longer looking. With demand high, supply low and prices through the roof, it's definitely not worth it at this moment. People are paying upward of 10k above sticker. Not us.) I spoke with Chris Koptyra, who, per his email signature, is the manager there. He told me the price over the phone, which was not unreasonable for the market -- he was just one of many I'd already called. When I asked if there were any dealer fees, he said, "nothing big." He then remarked how his dealership doesn't do mark-ups, and how he can't understand why others do that. I then asked for everything in writing, based on his assurance it wouldn't be much higher. When he sent it, he had tacked on $1600! A $600 dollar document fee (NY is limited to $75 but dealers in NJ can do what they want), and a $1000 LOJACK fee. We hadn't asked for LOJACK. He wrote, "let me know if you have any questions." So I wrote back: "Can you send me a breakdown of the fees and remove LOJACK?" I never heard back. Presumably he felt he could get some other sucker, given the demand. I followed up a couple of times by phone and email. Nothing. I called the dealership and they said he was at his desk, but he didn't pick up when they transferred. I then decided to simply call another agent. I got RJ. I didn't mention my dealings with Chris, but assumed it might get to him if he's the manager. RJ gave me a slightly different price. When I asked for it in writing, I added: "we don't want LOJACK." He said, "we never put LOJACK on vehicles unless asked." He called back 5 minutes later and said, "my manager just told me that we have to put LOJACK on this vehicle because it's in high demand and that's how we can make money." For real? Yeah, for real -- he said that. I'm paraphrasing a bit perhaps...but that was the unquestionable clear gist of what was stated. I then never heard back from him. A word about car dealerships (for the sake of venting perhaps): I made a lot of calls to a lot of places, about several different vehicles, new and used. The broad array of ways these folks advertise and then sneak in arbitrary costs is mind-boggling and disturbing. There's definitely a bad culture in this industry, which, of course, it's already notorious for. I just hadn't lived it yet! The lack of transparency in pricing in this industry as a whole is pretty disturbing. I can only assume it's systemic, as opposed to bad apples. Presumably the tricks of the trade have been proven to extract more money from customers (bait and switch), and are probably taught by managers who feel intense pressure from corporate, and that pressure is pushed on down the line. But it's sooooo inefficient and frustrating -- not to mention borderline straight up dishonest -- from a customer standpoint. Back to Bridgewater... Despite all that, the worst treatment in one of the worst industries unquestionably came from Bridgewater Kia, which didn't have the decency to even call back (2 times!) after already wasting my time with sneaky advertising, misrepresentations and a lack of follow-up. The vehicle may be hot, and Chris and his crew may be able to milk some suckers to bring home more bacon, but not treating customers with a basic level of courtesy -- injuring one's own reputation and one's own business -- also makes them suckers, at least in my book. I went to Bridgewater KIA (previously Kemper KIA), to purchase a 2023 Sportage, because I've been using them to service my Soul since 2016. Their service department is run by Bob Dempsey (previously Kemper KIA) who picks the best mechanics. We all spend a couple of hours buying a car but the rest of the time we spend in the service department. I traded in two cars for a good price, with a NON-PUSHY Salesperson and got a car that is a dream. I'm a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due. Recently I went to Bridgewater Kia for an oil change. My appointment was at 12 pm and i got out of there at 2:40 pm. I was sitting around till about 2 o'clock till I finally went into the office and asked the Service manager how much longer did I have to wait?. He went out, came back and told me that the mechanic was putting the oil in and then they were taking it for a wash. Everyone knows that an oil change does not take that long. If they were running behind he should say so when i got there and give me the choice to wait or take it another day. But he didn't. He didn't have the courtesy to go in the waiting room and let me know. I am very disappointed with the Service Manager. I don't know what to do next time that I have to take the cars (I own 2 Kias) for Service. Or should I take it to another Kia??? It will be a shame since this location is very convenience. read more
