My room was a good size, with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi (that actually works!). The bathroom was functional and my stay was quiet. The staff are pleasant and helpful. I had an evening meal which was lovely (if a tad overpriced) and the breakfast provided is a buffet of continental (croissants, yoghurt, juice and cereal) and some hot items (sausages, baked beans, scrambled eggs and toast). It wasn't anything special, but gets the day started. Overall, an unspectacular but comfortable stay. I'd stay here again.

This hotel is newish and very clean. The food served here is good (nice breakfast) and they do have a bar if you desire a cocktail. We even had bunnies and deer in the back lawn which were fun to watch. They have a biking/walking trail right out their front door which takes you to a bus stop that will take you to Cambridge Center. Next door is a large workout facility that you can use for a discounted rate thru the hotel. But the best thing about this hotel are the staff, namely Kim and Paulo. Both are very helpful. Needed a converter for my phone, no problem, Kim had one. Needed help with my Just Eat order that didn't show up, Paulo there to help! I would definitely stay here again.

This was freezing, no matter what time of day I tried and I was here for three nights. They can say all they want about "sustainability" but this is about being cheap. And I can run the shower. I was in Scotland with a shower just like it and the Scots gave me hot water. And they promised me 5 pounds if I didn't get my room cleaned. They didn't clean and they never gave me my voucher. But the big thing is the water. I would have paid more to stay some where else for a decent shower.

First hotel that we stayed in for our UK trip and I have to say after being around the entire area…read moreof UK this one is pretty alright. Yes Ibis is known to be a pretty small and very tight hotel. There also is no front desk, they have places for you to sit at but you aren't allowed to eat any food that is bought outside! While I was there I saw a group of 20 people trying to use the level one facility where breakfast is served, but they had bought 8 large pizzas. Overall this place is suppose to be budget friendly which you can see a lot of different types of people here. Location wise it's pretty convenient and close to the train station. But I have honestly never been in a room this tiny before. If you paid for breakfast it's pretty much the same thing daily which is a traditional English breakfast filled with eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, toast, fruit salad, sausages, and some cheese. But I would say skip it and just go outside to a coffee shop. It's not worth the amount that you have to pay.

While staying at this Travelodge during a heat wave in the UK, the building's air conditioning went out. That night, they moved us to 3-different rooms to try to remedy the situation. We eventually landed in a room with air! Unfortunately, that room conked out around 3am. The next morning, a little rough for the wear after a sleepless night in a hot room, the front desk staff informed us that not only that evening's stay would be comped, the ENTIRE 3-night stay was refunded. I've never experienced such proactive customer service in my life. We didn't even ask for a refund -- they were just determined to make things right. The hotel itself is in a good part of town, close to the train station, lots of restaurants and shops and only a 15-20 minute stroll into city center. The room was efficient and comfortable, at least when the AC was working.

I stayed here for a few days for work. I wasn't looking forward to it, after reading reviews from…read moreprevious patrons. All was true, I have to say! I arrived at 1:30 PM and was told that I could not check in until 3 PM unless I paid 10 pounds. So, I sat in the lobby and used wifi until 3 PM. I've never been in a hotel where I had to pay to check in early. She was really rude and very unhappy, it seemed, about her job. When I checked in, my room was on the third floor. You have to use your key card to get into all of the entrances, including your floor entrances. My floor, the third, had its door broken, so no key was required. My room was in the middle of the floor, with a window looking at the retail center next door. It's very sparse and simple. I can deal with that. However, there is no phone in the hotel room(s) - how unsafe and weird is that? I've never seen that before. You also have to pay an arm and a leg for wifi, so if you want free wifi you have to sit downstairs in the lobby, which had only two plugs for you to juice up your laptop, and they are always being used. The shower was okay, and somewhat clean. The bath tub did have a lot of rust. The wallpaper is coming off of parts of the wall and there is wall damage throughout my hotel room (i'm sitting here as a type, in fact). I can feel the springs in my bed and it's a floppy crappy bed. The walls are thin - you can hear photos ringing and loud people in the hallway. And there are lots of loud people - each night I was here I have seen drunken teenagers coming in looking for hotel rooms, so drunk they could barely stand, and staff had to call the cops. The hotel is across from a nightclub, and I think kids go there to get wasted and stay here. A lot of kids were "turning 18" meaning getting plastered! Oh, and the heat doesn't work in my hotel room. Nothing could be done because the hotel was fully booked. The staff is often rude and disinterested, they were even making fun of guests when I was in the lobby in the morning. There was one guy who worked at night, who was pretty friendly, the rest were terrible. If you are desperate, I understand if you'd want to stay here, but, try to stay in the city itself, or keep on driving.

Everything from the rooms to the carpets to the floors has been recently renovated within (I would guess) the last 4 years. The rooms vary in price and size. My co-worker was put into a suite that had a claw foot bath tub, a separate shower, and a large king-sized bed. My room was slightly more traditional European room in that it had a small stand-up only shower, no bath tub, and a Queen-sized bed with a nice armoire in which to hang my shirts and pants, and a great chest of drawers for the other clothing items (socks, undies, etc...). The hotel staff is overwhelmingly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast and dinner are actually pretty appealing considering it is hotel food and a hotel restaurant. Overwhelming positives: (a) Get a high room (5th or 6th floor) and enjoy the ridiculously stellar views of Cambridge. I am not kidding. The views are the bomb-diggity. (b) The hotel is connected to a spa and gym. You get a free membership to the gym with your stay in the hotel and you get a discount on the spa treatments. (c) Within walking distance of everything... and I mean everything. This was a really great hotel and spa experience in the UK.

Breakfast buffet was nice, I liked the choice of scrambled eggs or sunny-side up eggs and there were many options available. Using the hotel's valet parking made things easier for us, very quick to get the car whenever we needed it. Fantastic hotel!…read more Lobby: beautiful, multi-level with a large restaurant and bar area. There is plenty of lounging area. Rooms: For Europe, in general, these rooms are massive. The bed was a queen (not 2 twins pushed together). Very comfortable. There was a nice desk area with a large mirror for comfortable makeup application for my wife. Bathroom: Sizeable, nice shower. Parking: There is a small place that fits 3 cars in a single lane off the road for unloading bags. Parking is valet only. There is a lot of foot & vehicle traffic in this area, making it difficult to back out. Service: Very kind staff that is eager to help, whether you're at the bar, breakfast, check-in, or concierge desk. Breakfast: 7 to 10. Not your standard breakfast... There is so much well-prepared food that it is worth the stop.
