Perfect, if you don't expect more than you pay for.
I stayed at Fenners for three nights, attending a conference at Cambridge University. The staff was totally friendly and helpful big plus!
The room was tiny, yes, but just sufficient for a few days, and nice and cosy. For a longer stay it would get awkward, I guess.
It's also clean and tidy. The hotel is situated in an old townhouse, and these tend to look somewhat shabby compared to newbuilt hotels, even when they are well-kept. Which this one is.
Having a 24h check-in desk is both a plus and a minus. There's always someone available, but it also means that guests do check in after midnight and haul their suitcases up the stairs. Bring earplugs, if you're sensitive there.
WiFi worked well.
The breakfast does not offer much choice if you don't like English breakfast (if you do, it's probably quite good, from what I saw). Fresh fruit would have been nice.
Good, basic accommodation for a very reasonable price (in an expensive town). read more
