Seriously. We had Katie on makeup and Megan on hair. They arrived on time with everything they needed and were friendly, fun and kept everything running smoothly throughout the day. Katie made me the woodland fairy princess of my dreams and Megan definitely understood the assignment when I asked for a bohemian fishtail braid with flowers integrated into the whole thing. She even practiced on a mannequin at home after my trial to get everything just right. Truly can't say enough good things about HHB! I asked do not take more than an inch off as she was cutting. She cut off so much I look like a kindergartner who cut their own hair. I said they were too short . Her response - "don't worry they'll grow back" . But in the meantime I need to deal with super short bangs?? Really?? - Secondly she added toner to my hair after the highlights (was never done previously) which made my hair look darker. Why? I specifically said I liked my previous hair color. Why change it without asking me ??? - THE KILLER - charged me 25% more than my last appointment without any notice. So expecting to pay $140 (w/o tip) for my hair appt was now $185. It's ironic that I continually get reminders of my hair appointment via text & email but no forewarning of the price increase. This is a mistake that I have never made before; I missed my appointment. The second I realized, I called and apologized profusely and explained what happened. It was completely unintentional and I felt terribly. it was the end of an absolutely crazy week and my brain was scrambled. The woman I spoke to was nice about it and rescheduled me. What she failed to tell me is that they were going to charge my card for $165. The next week when I saw the charge on my account, I called them and left a message. Three days later, I called again and left another message. Three days later, again. I wanted to make sure that charge was for my upcoming appointment, since no one had expressed to me that I was going to be charged a cancellation fee. Mind you, I would understand 50 or even $75 but to charge the full amount of the appointment is extreme to me I felt really bad that I messed up, but it's unacceptable to just charge your card when you could easily enough notify the person that you were going to do so. They didn't get back to me for two weeks. When she did finally get back to me, she said that this was the cancellation policy and insisted that I had that information before hand. I explained that I was not going to be able to afford another appointment due to this charge. She said this was coming from the owner and that was that. Look, I know I wasted the time of the stylist, and I feel really bad for that. But this is the first time in my life this happened and it was not intentional. Their lack of communication and lack of compassion is why I won't be ever patronizing this business. They could've had long-term business from me had they done a good job, but instead, they chose to take my cancellation fee and run. Not so smart if you ask me.

Melissa seemed very approachable and even introduced me to a few co workers that we walked past on the way to her spa room. She made me feel at ease immediately. She talked me through the entire process and told me what she was applying or doing to my skin and why. Melissa seemed extremely knowledgeable about why she was giving me specific treatments as well as what the ingredients were in her products and what benefits they would provide for my skin. She asked about my daily skin routine and understanding that I am very low maintenance, offered samples for skin care products that would help me with my dry skin and also not add time or extra maintenance to my daily life. My skin feels softer than it has in a LONG time and I'm excited to use the samples that she recommended to keep up this dewy, fresh look that my face has right now.
