Well I'm crushed. I went in to see my amazing stylist, right as her previous customer was checking…read moreout. The poor woman looked like she was about to cry. To be fair, so did my stylist. She was having to explain how the owners had changed the prices, so her total went from $75 to $130!! For the exact same thing! Listen, I've been in the elite spa industry for 20 years. Working with double six figure stylists. This...has NEVER happened!!! One of my closest friends, and godmother to my daughter, who retired from clairol, said "100%, never go back. The only excuse for THAT, is greed". She also told me to ask if the owners cut decided to take time off, because that's one excuse for suddenly jacking up their prices that much. I'm not going back, though. My appointment was for two men's cuts and a dry cut. Our total was $150!! Again, I'm heartbroken. Best of luck to you Robin, you really are phenomenal.

I had a really great experience here. I made the appointment one week in advance. They call to…read moreremind you about two days before your appointment, which is very helpful for people like me....who forget about literally everything. Oops. I forget the name of the girl that worked on me, but she was wonderful. I'll have to find out and update the review so she gets credit. She got right to work and understood what I meant, didn't seem to be confused at all. She is a 'new' type stylist, so she's a bit more affordable, but her work didn't feel new or amateur at all. She handled my weird, super thick, under-cut havin' hair like a champ. She was also very gentle, as I have psoriasis and sensitivity to heat. The flat iron didn't touch me once. Praise the lord. As an introvert, I also really appreciated the non-invasive personality she has--She talked to me a lot, but not too much, and I zoned out a ton on my phone and respected her work flow--in turn, she respected my lack of motivation to talk much. All my poor dead ends are gone, about 4 inches worth, and my hair has never been more silky and shiny. I hope to God it looks even half this nice when I wash it next. My whole cut and styling cost $40, but I left $10 for a tip. 10/10 would go again. :~)

I recently moved to the area and feel lucky to have found Timothy Richard Salon. The receptionists…read moreare friendly, they call you back regarding appointment requests, costs are comparable to the going rate and the stylists are on time, professional and don't make you feel uncomfortable while you wait for color to set etc. I have had my hair colored and also have done a wash and style with two different stylists who were each excellent. Shalynne gave me the fastest blowout I have ever had (I have long thick curly hair) and it lasted stick straight for days without having to use a hot iron. Overall a great salon, modern and stylish without being pretentious and a bang on job for a great price. Love it!

I've been going here on and off for about 7 years and I can not say enough good things. Anytime I…read moretry another salon for 'convenience' I end up feeling rushed, disappointed and my nails start looking horrible not too long after. I've had various tech's do almost everything: acrylic & gel tips, gel manicure, and The Deluxe Pedicure is THE BEST $45 you will spend! They focus on detail and making sure you leave happy. My newest obsession is the dip manicure (powder polish), it's a great way to protect my weak/brittle nails without full-on tips being applied. Only $30 every week and a half/two weeks for flawless nails. Tips: 1) Make an appointment 2) Don't get update if you have to wait, even if you have an appt. They have an endless flow of walk-in's. They fit people in when possible but if the customer then decides to select a more time consuming service once they've started, they have to finish. They don't make you wait on purpose, this is probably one of the most efficient salons around with plenty of nail stations and staff.

I occasionally come to Sophia's Nail Care when I'm visiting family in Western Mass, and I really…read moreappreciate the convenience of having this service available in the Agawam area. I've had a few good experiences in the past, and I'm not someone who's particularly picky when it comes to my nails--I usually just need them to look clean and last a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was really disappointing. They didn't have the pink/nude color I picked, nor the alternative I chose, and the end color was completely wrong. The dip manicure took nearly two hours, which made me miss a reservation I had afterward. Even worse, the end result just wasn't up to par. The dip powder was applied in at least five thick layers, making my nails look bulky and unnatural. The edges were sloppy, and there was visible residue left on my skin and around the nail beds for days. What was also crazy, is that the tech kept dumping way too much powder to coat them (using half the jar!!) and blowing it off in my direction. I was completely (I mean COMPLETELY) covered in dip powder that other customers stuck their fingers in by the end of the appointment. Now that I've left Massachusetts, the dip is already chipping and catching on things. It's frustrating because when you're traveling, sometimes you just need your nails to look decent until you get home--but this time, they didn't even meet that basic standard. I really want to continue supporting this business when I'm in town, but I hope management will consider providing additional training for their technicians. Attention to detail truly matters, and with a little more consistency, Sophia's could be a reliable spot. 2 stars because there aren't really any other options in the area. (Note: the photo with the red nails was taken a few years ago (I've had pretty good luck since then, but not this last time).
