Well I'm crushed. I went in to see my amazing stylist, right as her previous customer was checking out. The poor woman looked like she was about to cry. To be fair, so did my stylist. She was having to explain how the owners had changed the prices, so her total went from $75 to $130!! For the exact same thing! Listen, I've been in the elite spa industry for 20 years. Working with double six figure stylists. This...has NEVER happened!!! One of my closest friends, and godmother to my daughter, who retired from clairol, said "100%, never go back. The only excuse for THAT, is greed". She also told me to ask if the owners cut decided to take time off, because that's one excuse for suddenly jacking up their prices that much. I'm not going back, though. My appointment was for two men's cuts and a dry cut. Our total was $150!! Again, I'm heartbroken. Best of luck to you Robin, you really are phenomenal. read more

Michaela is an angel sent to bless us all with fierce hair. I get compliments on my hair nearly every day thanks to Wicked Salon! But I confess -- I wasn't always this fabulous. Before coming here, I had never been really happy leaving a salon nor could I get on the same page with the stylist for what I was looking for. I knew this place was The One as soon as I sat in Michaela's chair and she started asking me Q's. Michaela took the time to evaluate my hair and make real recommendations on what would work for me and came up with a plan to get me to the color I wanted to be. Wicked Salon is a gem! Fred is a miracle worker, the salon is bright, comfortable, and clean, and there is always good conversation. At the salon I was offered hot tea and made to feel at home right away. I have thick, unruly Irish hair and I have never found anyone who can cut it in such a way that I wake up with tame, perfect hair every morning...until Fred. Now my hair is on point from dawn til' dusk, no exaggeration. I needed to find a new hairdresser, asap but as we know, that can be an anxiety inducing process! Fortunately, I turned to YELP which lead me to WICKED Hair Salon! After reading all the glowing reviews I knew this was the place I felt most comfortable trying. At Wicked you get the Best of both worlds!! 1st Michaela; Michaela is a colorist who's spent many years in NYC perfecting her craft. Let me tell you my hair was no easy task! My normal ( BLACK) roots were growing in & after my last hairdresser over processing my hair to the point of hair breaking off, I was afraid I would have to wave Buh bye to my ( anything but God-given) blonde locks. Michaela took the time to ask me what it was I wanted to do & after hearing I "wished" I could stay blonde, she went way above & beyond to not simply touch up my roots, but rather Very meticulously adhering the bleach, then color, only to the black root line ( did I mention I have massively thick hair?) so she had her work cut out for her (pardon the pun;) she did many more steps & when she was done I was truly in Awe of the beautiful color, so natural, you'd never know I was born with nearly Black hair!..now my Cut :).. Fred, Stylist extraordinaire; I was watching the attention to detail this man took with each of his clients. I've patronized many a salon in my day & the norm has become overly chatty Hairdressers who often put more attention on the conversation than to your hair ( atleast that's comprised an abundance of my experiences) not so here! After looking at your hair closely, he then works his magic but you can tell he does t just settle for "good enough"! Even after your hair is styled & dry, when others would send you on your way, he takes a final look & trims any stray ends, really not settling for less than perfect! As I told them both my Cheeks hurt from smiling by the time they were done! Lol They work as a Team & truly compliment Eachother! I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the young Lady who greeted me so warmly ( sorry I didn't get her name). She offered me something to drink & was so helpful to Fred,Michaela & all the customers! I've been going to Wicked salon for a few years, I found them by watching Mass Appeal on channel 22 demonstrating different tips on hair cuts, coloring, styling. Fred cuts my hair and he takes his time doing your haircut. I've had Michela do my highlights on my hair, I'm very satisfied with the service. You have to make appointments as there is no walk in service. All the staff is very friendly and accommodating. read more

Of all the places I've had my hair cut in Western Massachusetts, Wicked Salon is now my favorite by far! Fred's amazing skills with scissors and razor yielded one of the best summer styles I've ever had. That would be enough to earn a five-star review on its own merits, but Wicked deserves a sixth star for customer service. It was, hands down, the most hospitable, friendly, and enthusiastic crew I've ever met. I got there early and had a short wait before they were ready for me (at exactly the time of my appointment). While I was waiting, they really went out of their way to make me feel at home. The shortbread cookies (shaped like the salon's logo) are a great touch, and really show the attention they pay to even the smallest details. I can't recommend Wicked highly enough -- if you don't need a haircut right now, just book yourself a scalp treatment so you have an excuse to drop by. Have you ever been to a restaurant and you were seated right away, the service was incredible and the food was out of this world? Then you thought about writing a review but paused for a moment... 'OH NO, OTHER PEOPLE ARE GOING TO FIND OUT ABOUT MY FAVORITE SECRET SPOT AND RUIN IT!' That's where I am right now, but obvs, for hair salons. I have tried countless salons in MA, CT and NY since my favorite stylist left without any notice. Admittedly, I have difficult and uncooperative hair to color, cut and style. After requesting the usual caramel Level 5 or 6 brunette, I have walked out of many salons with black or blonde hair. Cue the tears and hysterics. This has happened at the most high end and high priced salons in East Longmeadow, NoHo, Boston, and NYC. No more! Michaela is a hero. I adore her work. I explained my past hairstyling problems and what I wanted. She made a few recommendations and got to work fixing my color and free hand painting my highlights. She seemed confused why other stylists had trouble in the past so I waited anxiously to see the results... PERFECT! GORGEOUS! AMAZING! I am so happy! It has been 4 weeks since I went in and the color has held up extremely well. I will go back in a couple weeks for a touch up and I'm excited to get my hair cut by Fred this time too. Also, the prices are insanely low for the quality service you get, even for Western MA. Please transfer those savings into the tip so Michaela sticks around! I live in DC and I've been going to Fred to get my hair cut for years. I'm sure a lot of local patrons were devastated when they heard he was relocating to Mass. I'd had one crappy haircut after another, when I landed on Fred back in 2008, that was it. He does an EXCEPTIONAL men's haircut. I was introduced to him by a friend who is a partner at a DC law firm and she also has been going to him for years. He's a little more expensive than the average guy, but it's worth every penny. I can easily go four to six weeks without another trim and my hair still looks good. West Springfield just got hooked up! He's the best. Go here. I am so thrilled with Fred I don't even know where to start. He was on time (a first for me) and professional and sweet and considerate and I look FABULOUS. My boyfriend stopped dead when I walked in and gushed about my experience with me for an hour, seriously, not just that oh, honey, you got your hair cut thing they do when they know they're expected to say something. It's rare we're both impressed by something like this; normally it's just, yep, this stuff is in my way, again, time to deal with it. I feel lighter, my hair is happy, soft, calm and elegant. I found these folks online and felt fairly confident about my pick but you never really know until you go through the experience. It was perfect from A to Z. I was greeted by a friendly staff; the person who washed my hair, Mattie, was great. The person who cut my hair, Fred, knew exactly what I wanted and precisely how to get there. There is some interpretation to be done by the artist and they either have that gift or they do not. He's got it and I felt that I could trust him from the moment our intro conversation concluded. How lucky are we to have a top New York color expert and top DC stylist right here in Western Mass. It's Wicked awesome. Michaela did Balayage highlights on my dirty blonde hair (previously highlighted and well overdue) and it looks awesome. My parents think it looks great!
