This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a company…read more I needed my jacket altered, and choose Sewing studio in Marda loop after being recommended by a friend. I checked the yulp reviews and had mixed thoughts (clue #1). My friend has some extremely nice cloths, and she should know a good tailor. I tried my jacket on when I picked it up in the completely disorganized work space (Clue #2). I was rushed to pay for it (Clue #3). On the big night, upon getting ready for an awards ceremony in Vancouver I noticed that the inside of my sleeves didn't look right. Upon further investigation I found that the liner had not been sewn up after the internal alterations had been done, not just on one sleeve, but BOTH!!! I immediately when to the mirror and upon doing my own quality control, I found that my Sleeve wasn't attached to the vest part of the jacket for about 4". I could put my hand completely through an area that should been sewn up. See photo I uploaded. I can't believe that I paid for a butcher to alter my suit jacket. Do not use this company! They have no quality in their work, well except for taking your money, that part of the deal worked flawlessly. I won't even let them fix it.

I had a mermaid style dress and had to order it big enough for my hips then bring it in 3--4 inches up top. She took the time to make it perfect, true to its original style and perfected every part of the dress. She is extremely busy because of her skills. So give yourself time when bringing in your dress and always call in before to make sure she is ready for you. I had 5 fittings in total, her prices to me were low considering how much work she did, and what other wedding specialized alterations places would have charged.

Her work is so good you can tell she's an expert in her field, she can eye the imperfections in a peice and dissect the whole thing, put it back together and make it look like a million bucks. And she knows what fits good and looks good. Most seamstresses I know will just hem what you tell them to without a second thought. She also custom makes wedding dresses(!) and halloween costumes (she made mine from scratch at the very last minute one year for my halloween party and saved my life). And she'll rush order hemming if you need it - and won't even charge extra. Pant hems are about $6, jeans are $8 with original stitch. I always pack all my clothes and take it with me across the border so she can fix em up. Definately worth the trip.

I recently took in my husband's super expensive dress winter coat in.. it needed a zipper that zips both directions. He was a little apprehensive about me taking it in but it looks good as new. I've also taken my daughter's graduation dresses there through the years and have always been completely satiafied. To some it might seem like a bit of a pricey service but you get to keep your favourite cloths longer, they fit better and you're not always buying new clothes. Definitely recommended.

Kim is my go-to girl whenever I need something taken in, taken up, hemmed or even restructured! And that is quite often for me as I tend to be shrinking faster than I can buy clothing. Kim has even restructured a cashmere full length coat of mine, which turned out to be significantly less than replacing it! The only thing I have not taken to 20/20 is leather, I have yet to venture down that road. Otherwise, pop into 20/20 if you are in the south and need something tailored!
