This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a company. I needed my jacket altered, and choose Sewing studio in Marda loop after being recommended by a friend. I checked the yulp reviews and had mixed thoughts (clue #1). My friend has some extremely nice cloths, and she should know a good tailor. I tried my jacket on when I picked it up in the completely disorganized work space (Clue #2). I was rushed to pay for it (Clue #3). On the big night, upon getting ready for an awards ceremony in Vancouver I noticed that the inside of my sleeves didn't look right. Upon further investigation I found that the liner had not been sewn up after the internal alterations had been done, not just on one sleeve, but BOTH!!! I immediately when to the mirror and upon doing my own quality control, I found that my Sleeve wasn't attached to the vest part of the jacket for about 4". I could put my hand completely through an area that should been sewn up. See photo I uploaded. I can't believe that I paid for a butcher to alter my suit jacket. Do not use this company! They have no quality in their work, well except for taking your money, that part of the deal worked flawlessly. I won't even let them fix it. read more

Eva is an incredible seamstress. I ordered my dress from kleinfelds in NYC, and had it shipped here. I did alot of research before trusting someone with my dress. I had a mermaid style dress and had to order it big enough for my hips then bring it in 3--4 inches up top. She took the time to make it perfect, true to its original style and perfected every part of the dress. She is extremely busy because of her skills. So give yourself time when bringing in your dress and always call in before to make sure she is ready for you. I had 5 fittings in total, her prices to me were low considering how much work she did, and what other wedding specialized alterations places would have charged. read more

I brought in 2 pairs of pants to be hemmed and 2 shirts to be altered. I told her that I had received one of the shirts as a gift and the other I purchased for $10 she said "great, one shirt is more difficult but I can fix." I arrive to pick up the altered clothing. She doesn't have one of the shirts done so I pay $150 for the 2 pairs of pants and the first shirt. Because it was so expensive I thought she must have altered the complicated shirt. She tells me to pick up the other next week. I arrive it isn't done, she tells me to come the following week. I show up 5 times in total on dates she has promised to have the $10 shirt done. She's flooded with work and hasn't touched it yet. Today I go to pick up the shirt, she charges me $70 for the work. I told her that I didn't find it acceptable, she knew it was a $10 shirt how on earth could she think I would want $70 worth of alterations done. She tells me it was the complicated shirt. (So why was the first batch $150 worth of alterations? Even if the hemmed pants cost $40 each then she was charging me $70 for what she deemed as a simple shirt alteration) I told her I couldn't afford to pay that much. I'm a student and she's well aware of that. So she says she will only charge me $50 for the alteration, and gives me $10 worth of quarters. ($10 short for those keeping score) I wish I could give negative stars. I've been a customer for years. She altered my grad dress in high school. I previously wrote her glowing reviews, I didn't understand why so many people wrote such horrible things about her. I completely understand now. Ladies even if she's good to you now be careful. I had a woman twice my age scream at me today because she didn't understand why I wouldn't want to pay 7 times the price of the item for an alteration. read more

Terrible place to go, if they screw something they wan't even tell you. They have no insurance that cover damage, or accidents !!!! The owner is interesting only for collecting money into her pockets!!!! read more

Eva and her staff are wonderful and do excellent work. The work she did altering my daughter's wedding dress was amazing. She also created my MOTB dress from a couple of pictures I gave her and did an incredible job. I find her prices for the quality of work she and her staff do is very reasonable and I would entrust any garment with them. read more

This lady can SEW!!! She's at a level that no other can touch. I believe she actually has a degree in tailoring as well! Known her for over 20 years and she has NEVER let me down! She has done some miracle work with a bunch of my stuff! Moved away and went to another lady and she was awful! So...I come into town to have her do the stuff for me...she's THAT good!!! I phoned the Sewing Studio to inquire about some pricing and to ask of they were able to take a look at the dress I needed altered. Over the phone I was told that she was not able to give me a price as each piece is different and she will need to look at it first. So off I went to Sewing Studio to see what they could do for me. The lady(who's name I don't know because she never really introduced herself) had me try on the dress and away she went chalking and pinning the hem of the dress I needed altered. She seemed to know what she was doing and I felt like I was in good hands. When she was done I gave the dress to her and she gave me a slip for when I come back to pick up my dress. At no point had she mentioned any pricing to me. On my way out I casually asked what she thinks the final cost will be and she said 110$! I almost choked! I was NOT expecting that price at all, that was almost the cost of my dress. She tried to explain to me why it would be so much, but her explanation was poor and by this point I was so shocked I just wanted to take my dress and go. She kindly took the pins out and I left with my dress While I am sure the Sewing Studio does good work, and they seem VERY busy, The pricing there is expensive. I was not prepared for it, and feel like I should have had some sort of heads up as to what I was getting into. She just ran a number off her head as to a price without any real justification behind it. There seem to be two types of reviews on here - those that love Eva's work and those that complain about either the price or the speed of the work. First of all, I love Eva's work...she is extremely talented and the best tailor/seamstress I have found since moving to Calgary 15 years ago, and I have tried MANY. Her work is top notch. As such, it is not cheap. You get what you pay for with everything in life, and I personally don't mind paying a little extra to get the job done perfectly every time. As for timeliness...the only reason I didn't give a full five star rating is because this can be an issue. If you need something by a deadline you have to be VERY clear about the deadline. It will get done on time. But I have had a few occasions where things have taken longer than originally indicated. Bottom line: great service, if sometimes slow. read more
