I needed some alterations done and Ella was super responsive to my voice mail and I got in to see her for measurements the next day. She has a new convenient location in Beddington that has a nice space for getting fitted with mirrors and natural light. She operates privately now. I came to Ellie on a very short notice and asked her to alter a gymnastics leotard (a competition one), I didn't know if she was even able to because of the fabric and time frame. But she took it in anyways! One day later she was done and had me in for a final fitting, it was perfect! So in less that 2 days she had finished a very tough project just in time for my national competition. Her work was incredible and even left some extra fabric incase I grow and need the alterations gone, (without having to ask!!) she gave great customer service and was able to work around my tight schedule. They are only getting as "high" a rating as they are from me because she does good work. The work itself was nice. I don't like giving bad reviews, but... Customer service, not so good. Now, you might be fine if you are getting your winter jacket done in the winter. I specifically waited until summer, so I wasn't in need of it. They told me 4 weeks. Ok, that's fine. She was supposed to call if it wasn't done in that time. No call. Not done when I went in to pick it up - another month, I'm told. (You see, it was a winter jacket, and it wasn't winter, so other things took priority.) Nope, another month later, still not done. By the time the jacket was finally done, it was 3-1/2 months later and we'd had one snowfall by then, and I'd gone to pick it up either 3 or 4 times. Oh, I had to pay a deposit, as well, so I couldn't really take the jacket elsewhere, either. read more

To clarify the last review, the owners are Chinese and hand fortune telling is a popular part of the culture. To be told that you have hands that do not require you to work very hard is a compliment because in old China, labourers were considered a misfortune. Please do not let this comment ruin the integrity of this couple. As for the alterations, they are excellent and the quality is there. read more

She does nice enough work but her personality is very, very hurtful. While paying for my alterations she noticed I have soft hands. She said it's clear that I don't work hard because of that. Nothing could be further from the truth. Wearing rubber gloves for housework and using lotion does wonders. There is no need to be so nasty. I will not be bringing anything else to someone so rude! read more

I asked Elly to hem my wedding dress into a cocktail dress and it turned out exactly how I'd imagined it! She was hesitant to change the dress at first, but when she understood my vision she was able to make recommendations about taking the sides in and different length options. She was also able to do it as a rush in only 2 days (with a fitting in between) for an extra fee. My friends didn't even recognize the dress was my wedding dress (in a good way). read more

Ellie did alterations to my wedding dress in late 2014/early 2015. She did a hem, bustle, and took out the back panel. She had to replicate a lot of bead work and did it perfectly.
