I placed an online order for five large pizzas for my daughter's birthday. When I arrived to pick them up, I found Brickyard Pizza completely without power after a storm. Trees were down in the area, the lights were out, and the entire crew was working in the dark. Because the internet was down, they hadn't received any of the online orders, including mine. At that point, most places would have locked the doors, put up a sign, and called it a day. Instead, they apologized, explained what had happened, and told me the gas ovens still worked. They offered to make the entire order from scratch. The team stayed in a hot, non-air-conditioned building, cooking pizzas by flashlight and waiting for every customer who had placed an online order to arrive. They could have gone home. Instead, they chose to take care of their customers. The pizza was excellent, but what stood out was the character of the people working there. Flexible, resilient, and genuinely committed to doing the right thing despite difficult circumstances. That's the kind of business worth supporting. Five stars. read more

We were so happy with our experience here! We were bummed out they don't offer dine in but it ended up working out for us. Their pizza menu is extensive and I have to say that their gluten free crust was actually delicious! The service was friendly and fast. Meatballs a little salty and featured a big chunk of melted cheese in the middle of the container....not sure if that was supposed to be mozzarella sprinkled over all the meatballs but just collected as one chunk in middle (?). The eggplant rollatini is fantastic! I usually get that and a side of spaghetti. I also order their meatballs which have a great flavor and are huge. My brother likes their spaghetti with meatballs. First time here! Hostess was extremely nice & gave mouthwatering suggestions on the menu!!! We got the magherita pizza, baked ravioli, eggplant rotini, & a dozen garlic knots (it's only two people too lol but it all sounded so good!!)!!! Plus at like $3.59 for a dozen garlic knots how can you 'knot' do it!! Also got two extra marinara sauces for 75¢ each. And they have a sign showing that they sell their saw for $8.99 for a 32oz jar so how can you ignore that it's literally A SIGN THAT THEIR SAUCE IS GREAT ENOUGH TO TAKE HOME TO GRAMMA!! I will be updating after my feast!! (Has to do takeout because they're seating area is pretty small so for extra covid measure it's probably best to carry out. Plus it only took 15 minutes to finish making so not long at all!!) UPDATE: OK THE PIZZA WAS AMAZING !!! The ravioli was great too and my only issue was that I should of been more patient and put my eggplant in the oven to warm up vs the microwave because it did make it soggy (flavor was amazing still don't get me wrong). And we drove about 20 minutes to bring the food home so i definitely believe if you ordered it there (or live nearby) and ate it the crunch would be amazing because it was perfectly coated in a golden brown layer. My go-to "neighborhood pizza place. Picking up my order has been an adjustment, from where I lived previously. But I've made it a "reward" on my way home from Walmarts. Or from picking up a bottle of wine at ABC . I'm usually not a crust person, but their's is really good. My only negative is that I wish that were more consistent. I have been trying to find a solid pizza/Italian spot for 5 months now. So far, I am really happy with this place. We have been twice in the last 2 weeks. Every other place has just been okay and i've tried about 12 spots so far. This is a tiny spot between a gas station and an Ace hardware. It is not the most quiet nor uppity and the prices are good for the amount and quality of food you get. The first time we came, we had Ada (I believe that's what it was) and she was absolutely lovely. Great service from her, refills super fast, and no hovering. Perfect. I love the marinara-it's simple and isn't sweet like a few other spots around Tally. Cheese is really good and the dough is also simple. I like it because they aren't trying super hard to do 1000 different menu items or things. It's really good food with good service. I'm very happy to find this place and we will keep coming back. read more

The best lunch special I've ever run across. $7 for numerous choices. It is lunch portions but you can get 2 lunch orders for $14 depending on how you eat. Lunch specials come with drink and if Sammy is in the kitchen you're in for a treat. All cooks there are great and I've never been upset or disappointed with an my order. Dinner is great too but the lunch special if you like saving money is worth every penny. Brickyard salad and pizza lunch specials is what I get. But I've heard the eggplant sandwich is amazing also. I was really craving pizza for lunch, so I googled some pizza places near me. I noticed Brickyard had a lunch special for 2 slices and a drink, so of course that sounded great! I called them, they took my order, and off I went. When I arrived, I was greeted very happily and my order was ready to pick up. When I opened the box, I was even more excited to see that not only had they given me my 2 promised slices, but FOUR! A whole half of a pizza! And it was very yummy, I was extremely pleased with my order and was very excited to go back. The only reason I've knocked off one star, is because I haven't been able to go back. The last couple of times I tried to call in and place an order, their phone just rang and rang, forcing me to give up on the dream. Although I have been back in Tallahassee for four years, I had not had the pleasure of trying Brickyard until recently. I had a friend tell me their chicken parmesan was her favorite in this area. Being that chicken parm is my husband's favorite dish, I had to make sure we gave Brickyard a go. His chicken parm came with a great deal of pasta and sauce. In addition, I ordered myself their large meatball appetizer (needed keto friendly) and a large antipasto salad. Their meatballs are hearty and dense, not full of fillers like some places. My kids shared a Stromboli with bacon and enjoyed. While in there I saw on their food board an advertised Family Meal Deal of ziti with six meatballs and 12 garlic knots or spaghetti with six meatballs and knots for only $24.99! We feasted on this a few days later and I must say, that ziti with the meat sauce is enough to feed at least 6-8 people. Ended up here on a whim and what a great place. Not a lot of tables so get there early or be prepared to wait (worth waiting for - and I HATE to wait!). Arrived on a Wednesday night around 6:30 PM and they were on a short wait. Almost went to the Food Truck Bazaar across the street (every Wednesday) but the aromas and the constant line of pickup and deliveries indicated that we should stay. We ordered a Large Greek Salad, a medium pie with pepperoni, onions and basil along with a B.S.C. (Brickyard Stuffed Crust). Each was amazing, memorable and will be ordered again when we visit. The staff was friendly and engaging. Provided good advice for those whom have not been there before. They also had won an award for Best Pizza for their area - I haven't eaten at any other pizza joints in the area - and there is NO REASON TO! It truly was a great dinner. Brickyard is truly the BEST pizza in all of Tallahassee and the surrounding areas. I have yet to find any other pizza place that is as delicious as Brickyard. I know what good pizza tastes like and it is very hard to find in the southern US. I am from CT and Brickyard reminds me of the amazing pizza that you'll find up there. It's all about the crust, the sauce, and the quality of the cheese and other toppings. They also have "grinders" on their menu, which is a New England term for sub sandwiches...I love it! No one else in the Tallahassee area has that on their menu. I wish Brickyard was closer to my home, but they are worth the drive.
