Things finally aligned to get a chance to try this Italian restaurant that we have been wanting to…read moretry. First visit will not be the last. They are in a brand new building on the way into Woodville. There is a good bit of parking. The dining area is one big space with tables and booths. There's a little bit of bar seating facing the wood fired oven. There's table service and pleasant folks to wait on you. I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese and the wife got the Lunch Special pizza. The Bolognese didn't have enough meat to suit me and it hadn't been cooked long enough to develop that rich depth of flavor that my all time favorite Bolognese at Mimmo's in Destin has. More like a marinara sauce than a rich and thick bolognese. The pizza, on the other hand, was stellar. Tasty thin and crispy crust with a nice sauce, delicious cupped pepperoni and plenty of cheese where extra cheese might be overkill. Would have loved more fennel bite in the sliced Italian sausage but the overall taste of the pizza was so good I wouldn't quibble. We have a local pizza favorite close to home but I would drive right by them, all the way through town and down to Woodville for this pizza. It tasted that good.

Not sanitary. You don't handle money then touch all over someone's food. Pizza is super salty $35 for a large cheese pizza. Every time I go their prices have gone up. One time my husband called in an order and I went to pick it up and they take the pizza out and a guy asked if I wanted basil I was confused and was like "uh no it's ok?.." and it turns out my husband ordered it with basil so why are you asking me if it's on the ticket- learn how to read. Dined in before and service is bad- like no training at all. Wouldn't recommend. Last time I order a salad Togo they forgot the chicken. Just a waste of time and money honestly.

And its 4.5 rating out of (900+) was the assurance I needed that I would have a quality experience. On the menu, I instantly took an interest in the 10" Margherita, which was what I ended up ordering with pineapple as my second topping added. Whether it be Grubhub or now Uber Eats, I love ordering online because it is convenient. Much praise to the Uber Eats delivery driver, Danilo, for arriving with my order at a reasonable time, as well as meeting me in front of the hotel. And Danilo also confirmed that it was me grabbing the order, which I cannot thank him so much for. Once I retrieved my order from Danilo, it was so hard to not smell it inside of the elevator headed up to my hotel room. It made me smile knowing that I just put pineapple on a Margherita pizza which is just not normal, tehehe. Even with the addition of pineapple, the pizza looked wonderful once I opened its box. I must say that the hint of cracked black pepper gave it a very nice touch appearance wise. Along with that, the pizza was topped with a combination of fresh cut basil, tomato and extra virgin olive oil with fresh mozzarella. And slice by slice, I devoured it as its toppings fell from it right back into the box. If you are looking for something to order from Gaines Street Pies, and love Margherita pizza as much as I do, then I recommend it. Being that I had a great ordering experience, I would surely order from Gaines Street Pies again whether it be Uber Eats delivery or takeout whenever visiting the city of Tallahassee. It was pretty darn big. Neither one of us could finish it. The day we went, they had no ice, so we got Jarrito sodas - which weren't ice cold either - coming from a refrigerator. The service was very friendly and before the team member there started our order he did tell us about the ice machine being broken. The pizza is made to order - even the slices. However, the temperature of the pizza was not that hot - you know the first bite of out of the oven pizza should be gooey and stretchy and burn the top of your roof of your mouth hot. It was not ... it was decent. The mushrooms were fresh (yay! Hate canned mushrooms). Loved the artwork on the walls. All in all, the pizza is decent (like the name), service was great and friendly. We'd probably go back if we're in the area.

My kids' minds were blown, and they loved getting to customize their slices. My only regret is how much we ordered. We got way too much food, having forgotten how very much they give you. They have improved their sauces and now have a very good spicy ranch as well as a garlic dip, which I do not recall getting or seeing previously. Our kids enjoyed the arcade game and pop selection. Everyone who was working was very nice.

I was on this part of town because I found a sauna to try and on my way back to my hotel I looked up the closest pizza place. This place was busy and seems like a neighborhood favorite. I was quickly greeted and ordered a pizza and a salad and went outside outside to sit on their very large patio. My food was brought to me in a timely manner. It didn't take too long, but it was definitely cooked fresh. I made it a pattern to get a Bianca style or no tomato sauce type pizza and a Caesar salad at most of the restaurants. I tried while in Tallahassee. So I ordered a pizza with a non-tomato base. It was absolutely delicious. Well cooked good toppings and I really liked it. The Caesar salad I added chicken too because there was no meat on the pizza and I believe they don't charge extra for chicken so that was nice. The salad was great. Everything was great and the atmosphere seems like a fun family place to have pizza. They also had ice cream. And if I wasn't full and moderately lactose intolerant, I would've gotten some ice cream. But again I was staying in a hotel with no freezer so I didn't wanna risk having to eat it quickly.

I've also gotten a small Mediterranean salad and I added chicken and the thing was huge. It took up the entire container and was a really good deal for all the food that you got. i've ordered a head on their website or using the Clover app and it's really easy. They never have any issues and everything's usually ready on time. I don't usually show up before the estimated time so I haven't had any problems with things being late.
