We went here last Friday, a group of five with two small children. I found the atmosphere nicely comfortable and the staff perfectly amiable / friendly. We didn't have to wait any more than to be expected. While looking over the menu I worried that there would be no options for the kids, the waiter pointed out that I missed the Bambino which is a kids-size cheese pizza, which was perfect for my two (5yr & 3yr) to split. I'm surprised there is only one other review for this place. I'd like to see it talked up more. The first thing you need to know about Bricks is the owner donates the profits from the business to Compassion Now, a charity that "serves underprivileged children in developing countries." The second thing you need to know is that it is, like Punch, a VPN-certified pizzeria. The menus are very similar to the extent that the pizzas have identical names and toppings. What Bricks has over Punch is the selection of other menu items. Also, with the exception of the Caesar, Bricks' salads are better than Punch's. Between the two, Punch's pizzas have a better flavor, particularly with two of the most important ingredients: the crust and mozzarella. For those who are concerned about portion sizes, Bricks' pizzas are slightly smaller than Punch's. Service is friendly and attentive but unobtrusive. Since we live about the same distance from Bricks and the Highland Park Punch, we alternate between the two restaurants. I no longer think of Bricks as a rip-off of Punch. I see them more as a supporter of the tradition of Neapolitan pizza, and we are lucky to have a wealth of such places in the area. What is going on in downtown Hudson? Who thought it would be a good idea to bring good pizza to the people of this fine area? Tractors and rusty pickups don't know what basil is. With my nose high and my top hat tipped just so, I strolled into Bricks. Mind you, I was also just at Punch in the city, so I was ready to punch some bricks?... *crickets* I digress. We tried a artichoke dip starter and 2 pizzas. The dip was good, it wasn't super greasy or salty. The bread was a tasty focaccia instead of french. The pizza was a classic fire cook pizza with the normal stuff. I thought it was pretty darn good given where I was at. It would like growing up in a one horse town, and for some reason someone put a really upscale NY cafe there. why? beats me, the place was completely dead when I went there. But if you live here or are passing by on your way to Minnesota or Wisconsin, stop by! It's worth it! read more

My girlfriend and I went there on an off-hour time and still received great food in a great time. The bruschetta was awesome, and the pizza was even better. The prices are great, and the theme is very modern, not childish (which everyone seems to associate with pizza, sadly), so eating at Brick's is very enjoyable. With that said don't think it's stuffy or snooty, either. Customers will also enjoy brand consistency through the decor, music, and print, as the logo and theme fit perfectly within the restaurant, which kept me looking around and taking in the feel up until we got our food. My son took me to this restaurant for my birthday lunch on a Saturday afternoon. I was surprised at how small the place was but it was clean and the service was very quick and friendly. We each had our own pizzas, the names of which I can't remember but you could tell right away that the ingredients were very fresh and the taste was outstanding. My favorite part was the kalamari olives that they use on the pizzas (if you order them), very tasty! I would definitely go back. This is the second time in three weeks I ate at Bricks. Today, my wife and my 6 year-old daughter went with me. I like the warm feeling that the wood interiors bring. Today, I had the Focaccia di Robiola and the Siciliana enhanced with Pizza Fiume. I chose a glass of Salmon Creek Cabernet Sauvignon. The overall combination was a good mix. Portions were just the right size. The atmosphere of the restaurant blends comfort, warmth and family friendliness. This is my favorite east metro pizza place... I live 1/2 hour drive from it but it's worth it! The pizza is really delicious and their salads are downright amazing. Fantastic pizza. I would put it next to Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix anytime. I had the Bricks special with Italian sausage, basil, red onion, re pepper and mushrooms and the flavors went so well together. The crust was perfectly baked. Both times I have been to Bricks it has been fabulous! This time I went with family and we split a special pizza with mushrooms and brie, which was melty, cheesy and delicious. Then we had a sausage pizza with cheese. The sauce was zesty but I felt the sausage lacked in terms of flavor. We also split the crab cakes which had a nice amount of crab with a light bread coating on the outside. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a good pizza in your life! read more

The service was a little slow, but the food was good. The main problem I had was with the wine selection. They only had one wine from Italy on the list, and it was a red. I haven't been here for six years. It was as good as I remember it. Some of the best pizza by the river. I mean, you can see the oven as you walk in! I went there with my boyfriend. Their menu was simple and to the point, pizza and a few salads and sandwiches. We were there for the early bird so we got free salads. They did a wonderful job on them. I savored mine quite well. We got our pizza and I was pleasantly surprised to see how stretchy the cheese was. I forgot to mention its homemade cheese too! Awesome! Loved it. What a wonderful find! We tried Bricks last night for a friends birthday and it was amazing. The owner was there to answer any and all of our questions. From the best Arne Palmers I've had in a while to the delicious pizza the whole experience was perfect. I also highly recommend the Gorgonzola salad! There were so many pizza choices to choose from so we can wait to go back and try more. I enjoyed the fresh ricotta taste of the Conforto Pizza and the sausage and basil mix was delightful. I would definately go back to Bricks again. The pizza is not what I am normally used to as they didn't have sauce on them, but I definately thought it was very good and would recommend the place to anyone. Pizzas were a nice size, since my husband and I were STARVING we each got our own. I ordered the bianca and my husband ordered the Pollo e Crema. Both were very good. It was like they had butter as the sauce and then they topped it with different cheeses. The types of cheeses on your pizza depended on which one you chose - Iknow that mine had goat cheese and some other cheeses.
