Bricks is hands down some of the best Neapolitan style pizza I have ever had. I am overcome with joy every time I walk through the doors of Bricks in downtown Hudson. The staff is always so friendly, greeting you with big smiles. The space is very intimate and cozy. This is a fancy way of saying it's small but it's very warm and inviting. I absolutely love the brick fire oven in the back. It's beautiful. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything is made from scratch, in house. They have some amazing weekly specials that use fresh, in season ingredients. And DO NOT skip on dessert. The Tiramisu is incredible. I'm visiting out of town relatives and my sister-in-law recommended this favorite of theirs local pizza restaurant. It was the perfect choice! They go there often and love it. We were a party of six and had to wait a little bit to get a table but it was well worth the wait. It's an intimate, smallish space that is just perfect, not too big to be loud, big enough to seat a nice crowd. We ordered four pizzas and two salads for us all to share and everything was delicious. I think four slices remained for take home and a little bit of salad. I tried a holiday edition local brewery seasonal beer that I loved and will be looking to purchase more before I drive home. First time here & loved it. Got the artichoke dip starter and it was rich and delicious. Got a margarita pizza and another with pepperoni & sausage added. Both were excellent. The sausage was salty and had a bit of a heat kick which was unexpected but welcomed. The end crust was absolutely perfect, soft & chewy with that brick oven char...yum! OMG, stumbling upon this place was such luck. My hubs and I enjoy trekking over to Hudson to enjoy a nice dinner and a walk on the river. When one of our favorite places closed down unknowingly, we didn't just want to leave the area. We found Bricks and it has been a regular stop ever since. First piece of advice, ALWAYS look at the special menu sheet. A couple of our favorite menu items have been on this menu. Only disappointment there is that the next time you go, it likely won't still be on the menu. On the regular menu, my favorites are the hot honey pizza and the citrus salad. Tomato basil soup, salads and pizza - Oh my! Twice this year I've been here for an early dinner. The food is very good and service is alright. This last time in early November, with just one other couple in the place, I asked whether the loud music could be turned down a bit. They obliged my request; however, the attitude of the server was "cooler" than it had been previously to my request. There is nothing in the place to dampen/absorb sound. The repeat problem I've experienced with ordering everything all at once (which is what they expect customers to do) and requesting that the pizza come out last - after we've finish our soup and salad - is that they seem to not understand the timing of food course delivery (or choose to ignore the request), and so end up delivering both salad and pizza at the same time, which forces a very crowded table and interrupts the dining experience in general. Imagine you're midway through your bowl of soup, a spoonful halfway to your mouth, when someone is suddenly there table side with a platter of salad and a pizza for you. Great pizza, sandwiches, and appetizers! I've been driving to Hudson once a week, eating and reviewing every restaurant in town since Wisconsin re-opened for business in May. And I've been waiting... And waiting... And waiting... For Bricks Neapolitan Pizza to open for indoor seating during lunch hours. I finally gave up. I placed a big takeout order and I brought it home to eat in the Twin Cities. First of all, the food was very good. The Di Bricks Pizza was excellent. My Boca Panini Sandwich was flavorful. And my Artichoke Gratin was savory and wonderful. Finally, my Tiramisu was great. This is a tricky dessert to get right - not soggy, not crusty, just right. Second, I have to knock them a star for not opening up for indoor seating! Wisconsin has been "open" since May. Now, six months later, 95% of the restaurants in Hudson are open for indoor seating. But NOT Bricks! I didn't drive two hours to grab some boxes of food! I know that Bricks has the right to handle the health crisis the way they choose. But I also have a right to free speech and to express my opinion. It's pretty lame that nearly everyone else in Hudson is open for indoor seating - except Bricks. I give it three stars not because it isn't good but that I think it's pretty expensive pizza and Neapolitan isn't my first choice in pizza. if I was going through Hudson again I would probably want to give another place a try. Usually have a great experience here, but today the pizza was soggy. Completely inedible and for almost $20 it was pretty disappointing. We ordered the bruschetta and they barely drizzled any balsamic on the crust it was basically just cooked pizza crust, and the tomatoes that come with it were yellow. This is the BEST thin crust pizza you will find. The crust is unbelievably good and can be order w evoo, sea salt and rosemary it so good. The toppings are superior, all the good stuff. We have a few favorites but they are all good. Our daughter is vegetarian and just loves this place. The salads are fresh and crunchy. They are dressed perfectly, not over saturated. Sounded amazing. She opted for the Ricco, adding chicken on the gluten free crust. It did not disappoint. Loved everything about it. I went with the Brio (pepperoni and cheese). I know, boring, right? I threw on some red onion and roasted red pepper. No issues eating the whole pie. Have I mentioned the crust? So often the crust is just filler or a throw away. Not here. The crust was perfect. Crispy and not too thick. Ambiance was nice, but not fancy, but what counts is the food and it was right on. We got there at 5 and were the only ones there, albeit a Monday. The pizza was very good, they had generous use of tomatoes, tasty crust.
