While waiting properly behind the designated line sign to purchase an item, an aggressive male customer began crowding and verbally harassing me to move up past the boundary. When I directly asked the cashier on duty to enforce the store's line policy, she explicitly agreed with me that customers are supposed to wait behind the sign, but then followed it up with, "Yes, but it's okay." It is absolutely not "okay" for a boutique toy store in San Diego to permit a grown man to harass a woman shopping alone. By refusing to enforce basic civility and line boundaries, your staff actively validated hostile behavior over a sensory toy. When I contacted corporate regarding this incident, I received a completely generic, automated brush-off stating they hope I "visit again soon," completely ignoring the safety breakdown that occurred under their watch. Allowing this type of unchecked aggression to slide in a toy store where families and children shop is incredibly dangerous. This total lack of accountability and failure to expect basic respect from adults is exactly what escalates into full-on physical brawls over merchandise. I now actively dread going to this location because management refuses to hold disruptive adults accountable. I am putting this on the public record now, and when a major escalation inevitably happens here because staff refuses to maintain basic order in the NeeDoh line, I will be back to update this review. Shop elsewhere if you value a safe, respectful environment.

The staff is both equal parts, professional, and also personable. They really go above and beyond to help customers out. And if they don't have the answer, they do their absolute best to help you regardless. The store is incredibly well put together, demonstrating a master class in organization, accessibility, approachability, and remains eye-pleasing to customers; it's a clean, organized, and attractive store. The location itself is also very convenient, with good parking near an area with a lot of other excellent businesses that are easy to navigate. The selection is usually good, and if they don't have what you're looking for, they are quick to make ample recommendations and work with you. The value may be set by corporate, which could be a hit or miss, but that is definitely not at the fault of the location. Overall, I cannot recommend this GameStop location enough. Even if you need to go out of your way a couple minutes or miles, if you're going to choose a GameStop location, then you'd be hard/pressed to not pick this one.

I had some issues with customer service though and left unhappy. There was a small line of three people. I was last. No one using self checkout. No one at the balloon bar. I asked a male worker if someone different is running the bar as I needed my balloons blown up and he said the lady at the register would do it. OK, no problem. I waited in line for my turn. When it was my turn, a woman came to the front and told the lady at the register to take her break. She greeted me and was ready to help me. We planned to start with getting the balloons blown up but the lady going on break said no, she needs to pay first. OK, no problem. The woman helping me told other customers who had formed a line behind me that self checkout was available. We finished checking out and when it was time to blow up my balloons, other customers needed help with self checkout, kept asking questions and she completely stopped assisting me to assist other customers. It was still my turn. She then told me she was going to quickly checkout a woman with a giftcard and someone else would be there to help me because she needed help to blow up the balloons and checkout customers. I let her know I had another place to be and was running behind schedule, that I waited my turn in line and would like her to finish assisting me. She said again that she needed help and wanted me to wait for someone else to come up front. This truly bothered me because why did I need to wait for the additional support opposed to other customers? Not only did I not have extra minutes because I was already in the store longer than expected but it was unfair to expect me to continue waiting to finish. I was made to pay in advance but service was delayed. I left. I returned Saturday morning to return the $20 balloons purchased and used balloons I'd previously purchased instead. Saturday morning customer service was great!

I have always received good customer service. Some even above and beyond. The only thing I did notice is that for a Saturday afternoon the lines were pretty long. Which I understand since they are closed Sundays. Not sure if they need to open more cashiers to help customers get out the door. But I'm usually not in a hurry when I visit so it hasn't really bothered me. I recommend you stop by for your hobby needs. Chances are you will find it and will get good customer service.

It's a retailer and variety store chain that specializes in household and consumer goods including cosmetics, stationery, toys, and kitchenware that was founded in 2011 in China and has expanded in 100 countries worldwide. Their stores are in 20 US states, with multiple locations in California. Miniso recently had a soft opening in Hillcrest area of San Diego inside the HUB plaza with plenty of free parking. Their website self described as: 'MINISO is based on three core principles: -Affordable high quality: guides our decisions from design to materials. -Joy: the response our customers experience while in our stores. -Lighthearted: the relaxed and happy feeling when encountering the large variety of goods available.' The shop has collaborated with various brands: Barbie, Disney, Sanrio, Harry Potter, Hello Kitty, Minions and others. Every isle has shelves of useful, funny and cool stuff! Some items are necessities and some are for play and fun. This shop offers lots of things I was interested in purchasing for gifting and also to keep for myself. There was a staffer who was helpful, friendly and nice. Overall, it was clean and organized as expected for a new shop. There were items for babies, kids, adults and pets. My pup Fendi and so had fun walking down each isle with wonder and amazement. A wonderful visit, will return and Recommend!

This place has a focus on random toys, some kid cosmetics and beauty, and a snack section. Oddly, easy to miss even when located in the center of Hillcrest's Hub. Walking around brought smiles seeing scanrio, care bear, and other things I use to be into as a child. Easy to buy something because prices were cheap. I settled for some Asian snacks that I thought were unique and fun and haven't tried or not seen at an Asian stores at convoy. Cool spot. Not sure if Hillcrest Hub is the right location for this shop but it brought in curious minds and a very small handful of people.
