Made a good trade then came back the next day to get insight on cards I needed help with, great interaction and solid info shared Great shop they got everything read more

Finally stopped by here after a session at Sycuan Casino. I've always seen the signs for this place on the way home but never had a chance to check it out until a few days ago. I told myself that dat if I win at the casino I'm gonna stop by here and buy something. I was looking for some 2025 Topps Chrome Football. Everywhere is sold out and if you do find a place then the product is marked up. They had it at this shop so I decided to pick up two blaster boxes for $55 each. Only got one hit out of two boxes. It's all good. I'll go back again to try my luck. Person working the counter was named Desiree. She was cool. Check this place out! read more

Expensive and lowball you for trades. Also everytime im there he seems to be arguing with his girl lmao read more

5 Stars - Absolutely Amazing Card Shop! The Card Shop SD is hands down one of the best card shops I've ever been to! Right when I walked in, I could tell this place was run by someone who really cares about the community and the hobby. Sergio Mako, the owner, is super knowledgeable, friendly, and just an all-around great guy to talk cards with. I picked up a few packs while I was there, and I actually pulled an insanely good pack--definitely one of the best hits I've ever gotten! You can tell the inventory is well-curated, and everything is priced really, really well. No crazy markups like you see in some other shops. Whether you're a collector, a player, or just getting into the hobby, The Card Shop SD is the place to be. Amazing vibes, great prices, and unbelievable pulls. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

Called a day before to see if they had anything one piece and they did so I showed the next to buy a bunch of boxes for a personal opening and he had 12 of the new ones for 125 each. I asked if I could buy them and the guy sad yes brought out the whole box with all 12 and i also wanted to get 2 other. He slid the box over to me and not even 30 seconds later said never mind i can't sell it to you at that price, I want to keep them. Completely unprofessional and rude it was almost as if he was mad I could afford all of the boxes. I would recommend to go here if you want to deal with someone that has a ego, if you want to buy cards i don't recommend at all read more

Went in and the owner was very rude and just all around not a good vibe. Prices are way above market and just not worth it go literally anywhere else please no idea how this place has 4 stars read more

By far the best value card shop in San Diego if you're looking for Pokemon. Reasonable prices on singles and sealed product, unfortunately it's a bit of a drive for me but it's well worth it. You can tell these people enjoy what they do and they aren't just up for the money grab. read more

Went in and looked around for maybe five minutes. The one person on the staff was helping a couple of customers but even when their conversation broke a few times, at no point were my wife and I acknowledged. We checked out some of the product and saw that some items were marked up for almost 3 times the MSRP. I get that small businesses gotta make money too but dang, never seen prices that high. After standing around for a bit, we walked out without being asked if we needed anything. I don't notice these things all the time but the vibe just felt weird. Oh well, we won't be coming back. I'm only giving 3 stars because it was such a short interaction and might be what happens all the time. read more

They charge over MARKET price for sealed pokemon. On release week, they're charging $320 for a mega evolutions booster box that retails for $161 and market average is $280. Charging 20% over MARKET is insane for a card shop. Please avoid at all cost read more

What a great guy this owner is. Very very fair on all aspects of this business. Always willing to make customers happy. I stopped going to all other card shops after meeting this owber/store read more

Shady business practice. BEWARE They resale opened product. Bought a 3 for $10 pokemon packs deal. Paradox Rift packs were all already opened. They were cut opened and re glued. Hits all removed. Tried to call number and straight a voice mail that "hasn't been set up yet." STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE *UPDATE* Went back to store and inform of them of what had happened. Totally down played it, which raises my suspiciousion even more. Just replaced the packs and didn't offer more for the inconvenience or issue. And didnt really acknowledge phone not working. Still won't ever return, don't trust them. read more

Great service and selection of cards. My boys love all the Pokemon cards. It's great to have them in the Jamul neighborhood.

I'm all for supporting small and local businesses but the fact that you guys charge so much for product just because it's hard to get is ridiculous and you have some nerve for having your employees go into Facebook groups to advertise for the store and then say some stupid shit like "mention my name and get a discount". Like, oh sweet, a discount off of triple the retail price!!! :D read more

This place has nice stuff but way way over priced. The owner of the store is to attached to the cards. Treats the cards as if they were his personal collection. Is he running a business or what? read more

Had a great time going through the dollar boxes. They had a very nice selection of cards. I will be stopping by soon.

Don't listen to the negative reviews. Definitely worth checking out, if you're in the area! Great product, Great Staff, great area. read more

Just discovered this place a few months ago, my kids are getting into Pokemon now and this place has it all, the nostalgia alone has been awesome. They have singles, graded, boosters and even some Japanese cards. We recently grabbed a hit parade 2024 'Zard edition and pulled a graded Beckett 9.5 #79 CHARIZARD V SCR. Sam, the owner is super nice and has made our experience there great! Highly recommend. read more

Not the first review I have left on this place and won't be the last. DO NOT FALL FOR ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON THIS PLACE. Best selection of singles and hobby boxes that I have seen and they stay stocked up with all of the latest and most up to date boxes and packs that you will find! Prices are very fair and reasonable when comparing to other stores and company manufacturer websites so the value is on point no matter what you get. They also provide consulting for when you decide to get your cards graded by PSA, Beckett, SGC, you name it. Rudy, Sergio, and Sam are awesome guys and they love the hobby of trading cards. If you live in the San Diego area and looking to either get into cards or are experienced and just want to continue collecting, you need to go to this place. No other card shop matters but The Card Shoppe! -Craig read more

This is a great store with a lot of wonderful merchandise. However, the guy made a couple of ridiculously lowball offers to me for my collection. In that exchange, they tried to tell me my cards were damaged....They also were going to make an offer on a few of my sports cards before a gentleman came out of the back and started talking and saying the card had a line on it. Never going back here!!!! read more

Awesome place! The owner Sergio was extremely helpful. I'm not a collector but my boyfriend is CONSTANTLY collecting. And since I don't know as much as him, Sergio gave me great recommendations on what to buy him as an anniversary gift. The shop is very organized and clean. The owner made sure everyone had a mask on and sanitized anything customers touched, which I loved! And you can't beat their prices or selection! Definitely recommend this place and will be back in the future! Thanks for all the help!!! read more
