It was our last night in Hot Springs for a family visit. We decided to head to the Historic Downtown area where there are so many iconic restaurants to choose from. We had pizza on our minds but the restaurant we wanted to dine at had a 45 minute to 1 hour wait. We passed; our tummies didn't want to wait that long. We headed on down the street until we saw an interesting restaurant, steaks, yummy. We headed inside and were seated immediately. It was a Sunday evening, and the restaurant was approaching their closing time, but we had plenty of time to dine. After being seated at our table, Haley, our server, greeted us and took our drink orders. It was a bit warm, so iced tea was the beverage we requested. After looking over the menu for a bit, I decided on the 8-ounce hand cut sirloin, cooked rare, accompanied with a loaded baked potato and a side salad. My wife, who wasn't very hungry, ordered loaded baked potato soup. While waiting for our entree and soup we admired all the artwork on the walls. From what we could tell, all the pieces were painted by the same local artist. The artwork was focused on rock icons. Some of them were very interesting. In a flash, my side salad was brought to our table. I ordered it with Brick House Grill's House Dressing, cheese & wine. The salad was beautiful served cold and crisp with huge slices of cucumbers. The house dressing was incredible with a touch of sweetness. Yummy. Shortly, our entrees were delivered to our table by one of the kitchen's expeditors. I love my steaks cook rare, not medium rare, rare. So many restaurants' grill master's, when they have a rare steak ordered, have a tendency to cook more towards the medium rare side. My hand-cut 8-ounce sirloin was grilled to the perfect rare. The steak had a wonderful smokey flavor from being grilled. Haley, our server, checked in with us several times. She specifically asked if my steak was grilled to perfection. My wife said the loaded baked potato was wonderful, some of the best she's ever had. Haley was an awesome server, so attentive and pleasant. What an incredible meal and time we had! Next time we're in Hot Springs, we'll definitely stop in for dinner. read more

Big shout out to Jose, probably the best waiter we've had in years, you can truly see when someone loves what they do and he has been so kind, sweet, and patient with our big group! The food was so good too, the chicken on the chicken salad was done perfectly (thanks chef!). We also had 2 full stacks of ribs and everyone was in awe of the bbq flavor, texture and taste. We thought this restaurant looked super charming and the menu was amazing! However, the food was just ok. The restaurant has a really nice charm to it. There are pantings of popular celebrities on the wall from a local artist, which can also be purchased. The older gentleman who showed us to our table was warm and welcoming. My husband got the catfish and I got a sirloin salad. My salad arrived without dressing, and it took about 10 minutes to get any. The steak was tough, and I had the butt end of a Romain lettuce in the salad. The Italian dressing was really good though and barring the steak and butt of lettuce, the salad itself was really good. The catfish was also just okay. It would probably have been better if it and the fries ordered with it had come out hot. The mango tea was delicious. read more

We've been coming to Hot Springs for years, and finally decided to give this place a try. What a disappointment. We went on a Saturday night, after the races around 8:00 pm. We sat in the bar area & ordered dinner. Not much ambience, no music. Took a long time to get our food, and the waiter brought our steaks, but forgot the salads. He finally retrieved the salads, but forgot the dressing. The steaks were chewy, and they forgot to deliver butter with the baked sweet potatoes. Wow. Wow. Wow! What a super underrated looking place. The staff was so kind and so inviting and we were automatically welcomed as soon as we walked in the door. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day and were completely taken by surprise with the portions of food we received on the lunch menu. Hit this place at a crazy busy time - start of the off season and we noticed several other eateries on the main tourist area closed. Nice bar area did not check out the rest of the restaurant. Waited for over 40 minutes to receive food after a 15 minute wait to get menus. The chicken Caesar salad had limp lettuce and bland dry chicken. No croutons or fresh parm. The burger looked great but was not warm and the fries were cold. The waiter was very apologetic about the wait and was really working hard. We really weren't sure where to go for dinner, so we just started walking. There were places that looked like they might be interesting but not open. We ended up at Brick House and sat in the bar. Brandi was fantastic and so helpful. She gave us great recommendations for other places to eat while in town and was very attentive. The food was great. My fav.... mozzarella sticks... were gigantic and super stringy. Best I have had in a while. The salads were fairly large for a side salad and good. We got the Blackened Tuna and the Brickhouse chicken. Both were delicious! After the cheese, I was only able to eat a 3rd of my chicken, but it will be a great snack/lunch one day. Brick House Grill has a real "where everybody knows your name" feel. It was a great afternoon spot to watch a football game. I wanted something light so I had a soup and salad. The baked potato soup is popular, but I'd skip it. I only ate half of it because it seemed to be missing something. They should revisit the recipe. The service was superb. Patio was closed because of possible rain but the owner Yvonne was so nice to let me sit outside with the new dog. Had the patio to ourselves. Then the food. My wife and I visited the Brick House Grill on the second day of our honeymoon. We had only had excellent food experiences in Hot Springs up to that point, so we were shocked by how poor our visit to Brick House was. We were seated upstairs under a burnt out lamp by a group of frat bros. We ordered two entrees, two side salads and an appetizer after a long wait at the table. The waiter tried to bring us two meals that were not ours, then tried to tell us that the kitchen was out of catfish that we did not order. When the food that we DID order came, it all came out at once, causing a tough decision on whether to eat the rapidly-cooking steak or the congealing greasy appetizers first. What little we could actually stomach was aggressively average at best, nearly spit-take inducing at worst. The manager was kind enough to take the appetizers off of our bill, which saved this place from the one star. We will not be coming back. read more
