Espresso Martini
Steven B.

I woke up Easter morning and there was no Easter Basket filled with chocolates waiting for me. What should I expect when I am an old man living alone with two dogs. Since I had no basket to enjoy, I decided to take myself out for Brunch. I remembered the last time I went to brunch at, Brick + Bramble, it was pretty good. So I made myself presentable and headed to Edwardsville. I'll tell you up front, this Brunch far exceeded the last one and I thought it was outstanding. I seated myself at the bar, my favorite place to eat when dining alone. Was glad to see one of my favorite things and that is Hooks and Outlets Under the Bar. It's such a nice touch, to provide those for the customers. Let me start out giving a shout out to the young lady who was bartending. She did an outstanding job making my cocktails and taking my order. I ordered a Morning Martini and she asked if I wanted that or did I really want just an Espresso Martini. She quickly explained the differences and I went with the Espresso. I've had the Morning, but this espresso one, made my morning. While I was reading the Brunch menu, another server came up to retrieve drinks for her table. As she waited, I asked her what would she recommend for me to order. Without blinking she said, Fried Chicken Benedict. I giggled and told that was what I was leaning towards and her recommendation made my mind up. When my Benedict arrived, my eyes bugged out of my head. It was huge, I mean seriously huge. I could not eat all of it, I had to take half home. Later that night, a little warm-up and I had dinner. The Benedict was grilled biscuits topped with hand-bread fried chicken breast topped with over-easy eggs and house made sausage gravy. The breading on the breast was crunchy and crisp. Eggs were done perfectly and the sausage gravy was equal to a farmers wife. I may have been getting full, but I couldn't just have one cocktail. After all it's Brunch and Easter morn. After seeing the flier for the spring cocktail specials, I ordered a Pistachio Martini. It's vanilla vodka, Amaretto, Bailey'sBlue Curacao with a Crushed Pistachio Rim, made up for not having an Easter Basket filled with chocolate. The rich creamy texture was like drinking a dessert. Before spring is over, I'll be back for another. Again, shout out to the great bartender who took care of me.

I can't get over this cute little spot! This visit was only for a drink to kill some time before dinner reservations but I've absolutely already planned to go back for brunch! The service was great, the music selection is what I need everywhere and the drinks were so freaking good. I can not wait to go back and try the food!!!

Chicken and waffles...you see the butter

Back at Brick & Bramble for the second time, and clearly, they're not playing with Edwardsville's brunch reputation. A friend and I stopped in for brunch, and it was a reminder of how refreshing it is to have a spot on this side of the river with standout food and an atmosphere that doesn't feel like an afterthought. I had the chicken and waffles. Crispy, well-seasoned chicken, a fluffy waffle, and that cinnamon honey butter....it was warm, sweet, delicious! My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy, and once again, Brick & Bramble proved they respect the classics. The gravy was rich and flavorful, the biscuits held their integrity, and she paired it with a mock red sangria (not pictured) that looked like the perfect "I have errands after this" brunch beverage. Service? Still on point. Our waiter (CJ) was friendly, attentive, and kept the experience seamless without hovering. In a world of inconsistent hospitality, this team continues to deliver. Bottom line: Brick & Bramble earned my repeat business, and my repeat praise. If you want a Saturday brunch with great energy, great food, and zero buyer's remorse, this is your spot. And seriously, don't skip the cinnamon honey butter.

Brick + Bramble in Edwardsville is giving happy hour the glow-up it deserves. We stopped in for their weekday happy hour (Tuesday-Friday, 2-5 PM) and were very happy indeed. They offer 5 small plates for $35--which is basically an invitation to order everything, and we did. Here's what we loved: Truffle Parmesan Fries - crispy, herby, addictive Crispy Brussels Sprouts - that balsamic glaze? Chef's kiss Queso & Chips - creamy, cheesy, topped with fresh pico Pork Potstickers - flavorful and came with a trio of dipping sauces Crispy Fried Cauliflower - perfectly seasoned and golden And then there were the cocktails... We tried The Bramble (vodka, blackberry, champagne simple) and it was pure magic in a glass. But let's talk about the Smoked Olive Martini--bold, savory, and absolutely a reason to come back on a Tuesday for their Tini Tuesday martini lineup ($8 all day!). The vibe? Chic but relaxed. Lots of natural light, comfy seating, and a layout that works for a date night, girls' night, or just posting up solo at the bar. ‍ Follow me on Yelp, GoogleMaps, Facebook, and Instagram for more local gems, happy hour steals, and cocktails worth planning around. I live for a good small plate situation--and this one? Totally worth the drive.

Really wanted to love this place but it was just okay. We had a party of 6 with a reservation so we were sat right away. We ordered our drinks and food pretty quickly but both took quite some time to come out. Everyone had gotten their food and almost done with it when I finally got my flatbread so that was kind of disappointing. Food was pretty good! They had a variety of different options, great for sharing. I will note a table of 6 does automatically get gratuity added to the bill ( not a big deal) just noting because it was not listed anywhere.

The cocktails and food were absolutely lovely! SO many things on the menu that I'd really like to come back and try!!! The ambiance was nice, though rather loud even if it didn't seem like it should've been. The service is where my rating went down even though I really wanted to give them a five. The waitress we had was GREAT, but there just too many tables assigned to too few wait staff. Not sure if someone called off, or if that's the norm here, but it really colors one's experience. Hoping it'll be better next time?

Lavender Lemon Drop Martini

A Night of Indulgence at Brick & Bramble After two long weeks of grinding and barely seeing each other, my handsome gentleman and I finally carved out some time for a well-deserved night out. And let me tell you Brick & Bramble did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was cozy, modern, and effortlessly chic the perfect setting for a date night filled with laughter, indulgence, and unforgettable flavors. Now, let's talk drinks because, whew! My lavender lemon drop martini was pure perfection smooth, floral, and just the right amount of tart. And his Old Fashioned? Let's just say that first sip had him leaning back in satisfaction. And then came the food, oh my goodness! Truffle fries--a crispy, flavorful delight that had me savoring every bite. Short rib ravioli--rich, decadent, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Potstickers--an explosion of flavor that left us wanting more. Steak dinner--because what's a date night without a perfectly cooked, juicy steak to share? I was over the moon fully satisfied, deeply spoiled, and feeling every bit of the luxurious dining experience. My man loves every curve on me, but after this feast, cardio is calling my name! Because looking my best while indulging in the best? That's just how I do. So, if you ever find yourself in Edwardsville, do yourself a favor and stop by Brick & Bramble. You just might catch this pretty lady there with or without her extraordinary gentleman. Until next time, cheers to good food, great drinks, and even better company. Xoxo, Sierra

Cute entry - couldn't snap photos of the chairs because people were hanging out, but it felt like being in your friend's house!

Fun find! We were visiting Edwardsville (cute IL town outside SLU) and looking for a quick bite. We lucked out finding this spot near our hotel. There were seats at the bar and they had a happy hour menu that hit the spot. We're usually one app/one entree diners, but on this trip we were tired from traveling all day. Everything on the HH menu looked good! It was a fun way to try out five small plates and avoid decision fatigue. Was it good? Yes! Check out the pictures for a closer look at our "meal."

Berry salad

Came in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We had a reservation but most likely didn't need one since we came right after they opened. I had a berry salad which was good. My bf and dad had the breakfast burritos. Overall the food was okay. The service was very attentive. The interior is a little dark. I think it has a better environment as a dinner/cocktail spot.

I was in the mood to try something new, so we ended up here. The inside is designed well and pleasing to the eye. We went at an odd time, so it wasn't busy at all. We were seated quickly by a friendly guy. I'll be honest, there isn't much on their menu that appealed to me. I'm a very boring eater. lol I'm sure some people would love it! Hubby and I both got the Bramble Burger and fries. The burger was delicious! I wasn't a fan of the fries though. I'm very picky about fries and I don't care for the ones with lots of breading on them or whatever that is. They weren't bad, just not my fav. I would like to go back and try their steak and hasselback potatoes! I would call this place "hip". I'm sure the college crowd will enjoy the vibe. I might be a bit too old for Brick +Bramble, but we enjoyed trying a new place. Our server took excellent care of us! I do hope to go back.

Moved to the area from St. Louis city and was looking for a brunch. All the food was pretty good but nothing was so outstanding. The service was great, however, and the prices were not too bad. The espresso martini was a bit too sweet.

The meat share and our sides
Steve W.

Had dinner with some friends here on Dec 9. CJ was our awesome waiter. He took such good care of us. Next time I'm there I'm definitely going to ask for his section. He makes you feel so welcome. Just awesome. Food was good too. They have these shares. Basically boards to be shared by 2-4 people. There were 3 of us so we went for the meat share and added mashed potatoes, lobster mac n cheese and asparagus. For the 3 of us this was the way to go. We all got something we liked and got to try a bunch of stuff. Quality and presentation were on point. Loved it.

It was a special night, a group of foodie friends got together after not seeing each other for a while. It was a group of 11 and the accommodations and service couldn't have been better. Our server was extremely professional and didn't mind that it was 6 different checks. As our server was telling us the Daily Specials and the Catch of the Day, I immediately knew what I wanted. Whenever I hear, Pan Seared Sea Scallops or anything with Scallops, I'm sold. My scallops (4) were huge and the Risotto that they were served on was moist and flavorful. I also learned that they offer half bottles of wine and one of them is my favorite. I love, Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon. I'm probably going to wine hell because I paired it with my seafood instead of a white wine. Also, I want to give a shout out for their, Crab Stuffed Mushrooms. I've been known to stop by and have them and a Martini and call it a meal. When: February 19, 2026 Why: Meeting up with friends

They offer bone-in and boneless wings. I prefer, bone-in. To me, boneless wings is just another name for nuggets. You also get your choice of sauces, or doing a dry-rub for your wings. I'm a fan of the dry-rubs, so chose Buffalo-Lemon Pepper. It was a combination of my two favorite flavors, so it seemed like a logical choice. The blend of the buffalo with lemon pepper, gave the wings an extra tangy taste. I also like how extra crunchy the wings were. Crisp on the outside and moist and juicy on the inside. When I eat wings out at a restaurant, I am a stickler for the number of drums and flats match. My order here at B&B was 3 & 3, so I was happy. In addition to my wings, I had a side of fries. Damn, they were good. They were crinkle, my favorite fry and they were good sized. The bartender offered a beer cheese sauce for dipping and I took advantage of his offer and tried it. The beer cheese was way better than using the typical ketchup. Being a Tap House, there were plenty of craft beers and commercial beers on draft. If you are torn on what to choose, they offer samplings. The bartender said, if I told him what I liked, he could make recommendations to match my taste. He guided me to, Floyd's Deluxe and it was a good match for my wings and fries. The ambiance is industrial minimalist, which is a relaxing sports bar vibe. I was pleased with my first visit, so I will be back and the next time I'll try a burger. Good food and excellent service, will always get me to return.

If you want a great burger--whether classic or a bit more eclectic-- some crispy tots, a fantastic soft pretzel with cheese, or the very best chili around, this is the place. It's always nice being recognized as a familiar face, and the entire team is consistently friendly and welcoming. A special shout-out to Jason for his command and control of the chaos on super busy nights--Jason multitasks effortlessly and keeps everything running smoothly. Getting there and parking: My family, including a pre-teen, met up at Stagger in to visit with a couple of our friends. Parking was a small challenge. There is a large public lot on the same block, but it was full when I got there around 6:20pm on a Wednesday. There is minimal street parking. Luckily, I found a spot after a couple of times around the block. Walking in, you can see right away that it really is a no-frills tavern. There's not even traditional table service, though it's not exactly counter service, either. You sit down, decide what you want from the menu, walk up to the kitchen counter to place your order, and give the ticket the kitchen gives you to your server. However, the menu was much nicer than what I expected, with very fair prices! Appetizers ranged in variety from French fries and wings to fried pickles and spinach artichoke toasted ravioli, with prices ranging from around $4 to $8. Entrees included a variety of sandwiches, salads, and burgers from $4 to $8.50 or so. They even had vegetarian and pescatarian options, including a blackened tuna sandwich and a black beans burger! All three of us, including a picky pescatarian adolescent, found food we enjoyed! Beyond the food, the service staff was friendly and the bar service was adequate. In all, it was a really great place e together up with friends AND bring a kid--at 6:30 on a weeknight, at least! I would very much recommend this place to a group looking for a casual environment with good food at good prices! Atmosphere: Food selection & taste: Service: Price: I'm not sure if would be fair to give 4 starts based on the above, though, because I wasn't to rate it for what it is, not for what something else is.
