The space, being in a new building, is clean, inviting, and still has a faint fresh paint smell even. The beef I got was excellent and both my grandfathers were beef ranchers so I know a thing or two about quality beef. The fish dip and potato salad I got--they have some ready-to-go sides like this--were also excellent. So the only reason I subtracted a star from an otherwise five-star experience was the lady working there. Now, she was perfectly friendly and nice, but she didn't know what a Kansas City strip was when I asked about one. She would only say "I'm from Miami and I've never had beef so good as what we have here" which fair enough for her honesty, but her knowledge of the product was not the caliber I expected for an outfit like this one. Still, there is no better beef for sale in the entire region unless you personally know a rancher. Beyond their fish dip I've not tried their seafood but looked good though less variety than Northwest Seafood has on hand. For a beef butcher, most certainly recommend.

We ordered the pork and beef special to share, a good deal at $13.99. Both meats were tender; the beef was a bit dry, however, we finished it all. The service was friendly the few times we've been here. We tried the fried green tomatoes this time and they were very good. One concern was my husband's beer, which he felt was flat but very cold, however my moscato was cold and sweet. The motive is a relaxing farm style. Very comfortable and relaxing. We will return.

Entering it kind of reminds you of a farmhouse, I guess. Pretty standard furnishings and decoration for a country diner sort of place. Of course, we were there for breakfast, so the standard diner breakfast was on the menu. The full menu consists of burgers, sandwiches, and a couple of barbecue dishes. If there were more screens mounted on the walls I would call it a sportsbar, but that isn't the case. Our orders were taken, and I had gone for eggs, hashbrowns, and corned beef because it was St Patty's Day. Realistically one of the few times that I have legitimately had food that was appropriate for the holiday. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time for a group of ten, so the kitchen and staff knew what they were doing. The food was fine... nothing to really shout out about, but also not bad. It was what I expected it to be, and that was good enough.

I think the restaurant may have changed…read moreowners a few times because various classic aspects of it come and go--they once had these great sweet hush puppies they brought out for free with your dinner and those have disappeared in the past year or so. The salad bar has also changed up a bit but thankfully the excellent bean salad remains on it and the large cubes of cheese which are really a nice addition to any salad. The decor is nautical, the atmosphere country as is the music on the radio including often older country hits (think Dolly, Conway, Waylon, early Reba, even Lacy J. Dalton now and then). It's cozy, family-friendly, and you're likely to see people you know. The waitstaff is super-friendly too though promptness varies--normally good service, sometimes someone will disappear for lengths of time, though--I like to say when that happens they've gone over to the springs to catch more mullet. The real winners on the pretty long menu: fried shrimp, stuffed shrimp, really anything they do with shrimp. The fried mullet, too, which is local. The shrimp po'boy or fish sandwich. The salad bar which, as salad bars go, is very varied and good. Best sides: sweet tater fries, swamp cabbage when in season, fried okra. All in all, a solid place for a good dinner and certainly nice people working there day in and day out--which, by the way, they're open seven days a week which can be a rare find out here in the country.

Our waitress was named Willow, and she was amazing, Food came out hot and fresh i opted for simple chicken fried rice, wife and friends shared a big family boil. If your a big Louisana style aeafood kind of person definitely give them a visit!!! The wings were flavorful, well-seasoned, and hit the spot, and the fries were crispy and satisfying, simple but solid. That said, when my friends' seafood boils came out, wow. The smell alone was incredible rich, buttery, and seasoned perfectly. I couldn't resist trying a few bites, and I'm glad I did. The potatoes and broccoli were especially good, soaking up all that seasoning, and the seafood itself tasted fresh and well-cooked. You could tell this is really where they shine. The portions were generous, the food came out hot, and it's definitely a fun, casual spot to go with friends. The atmosphere feels laid-back and social, which makes it great for group dinners. While my non-seafood order was good, seeing (and tasting) the boils made me want to come back and try a full seafood meal next time. Overall, a solid spot with great flavor, especially if you're a seafood lover. I'd absolutely return and next time, I might just give in and get my own boil.

Gainesville Seafood, out on the Eastern end of town, is that place. It may not be the easiest spot to stumble upon, but that's part of its charm. This is the kind of hidden gem that loyal regulars keep quietly to themselves, the sort of place that feels like a reward for those willing to seek it out. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, the kind of no-frills setting that lets the food do all the talking. I went for a seafood platter, which was shrimp and fish with fries. They have a variety of different kinds of fish available that you can pick from, which is a nice touch. It gives the meal a sense of personalization that you don't always find at casual seafood spots. I went with the flounder, and it turned out to be an easy choice to feel good about. The platter was generously portioned, the kind of meal that leaves you satisfied without the need to contemplate dessert. All of it was excellent. The flounder was light and flaky on the inside, with a crisp golden crust that had clearly seen well-seasoned oil and confident hands in the kitchen. The shrimp were equally well-executed. They were plump, tender, and fried just right, without any of the rubbery disappointment that lesser seafood joints often deliver. Even the fries held their own, providing a solid, starchy counterpoint to all that seafood goodness. The wait wasn't at all bad either, which is worth mentioning because a place this good can often mean a crowd. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole experience moved at a comfortable, easy pace. Whether you're a Gainesville local or just passing through, Gainesville Seafood is the kind of place worth going a little out of your way for, and once you've been, you'll understand why people keep coming back.

The parking lot can get a little hectic, especially during busy hours, but once I got inside everything moved quickly. The service was fast and I really appreciated that everything is fried fresh to order, you can taste the difference. I got the wings and shrimp combo and added hush puppies. The wing batter was amazing: not greasy, perfectly seasoned, and honestly better than Popeyes or even KFC. A lot of places give you more batter than chicken, but here the chicken was moist and a good portion. The hush puppies were also surprisingly moist and flavorful, some of the best I've had since they're usually dry elsewhere. My find and I split the order and since we eat small portion we think that was a good portion for us and also had leftovers. Everything was so good I didn't even need sauce, and I'm a sauce girl through and through. Overall, great experience and I'd definitely come back when I'm craving something fresh, crispy, and satisfying.
