My husband found Jim on Craigslist, checked out his reviews, e-mailed him, and got a quick response. He was able to pick up our stuff and deliver it the following day. His price is totally reasonable. I appreciate the fact that people are willing to charge a fair price for their services. He will even talk stocks with you if you're interested in that sort of thing. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Will and his crew at Moving Van Go!!!…read more I was looking for a local business to help me move a few pieces of furniture across town and, not only was he accommodating, professional and friendly, but his meticulous attention to detail was so reassuring with my precious cargo (100 year old furniture from my grandmother)! I was so impressed that I hired him again for help loading my POD for a long distance move. He's very responsive and his work ethic is impeccable! His crew members--Robert, Anthony and Yosio-- were also equally respectful and careful with my belongings! I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and HIGHLY recommend Moving Van Go for any moving needs in the South Bay!! They made a stressful situation so much easier--thank you, Will and crew!!!

1-Star Review: Moving Van Go / Will Stone Avoid at all costs…read more I hired Moving Van Go (owner Will Stone) for a move from Los Angeles to Idaho after he came out three separate times to assess my home location, belongings and boxes. He originally quoted $12K to move a 1 bedroom and I told him that I couldn't afford it and my plan was to just do it myself. Then he came back and said he had a woman that wanted to move her mother back to LA so he could do my move for $4K since the other woman was paying for the return trip. He repeatedly promised that everything would fit and could be moved. NOTE: I had already parred down my belongings and didn't even have a couch to move and I even removed the two largest pieces of furniture (pieces he had already said would fit) and provided him a detailed Excel inventory. As a professional mover, after three in-person visits he should have known what would and would not fit. He is the professional that does this for a living. He also charged me extra to move a China cabinet locally and then, at the last minute, refused to move it. The only good thing was that he did refund me that extra charge. After the job he left all of his garbage from the back of his truck at my place, four wardrobe boxes and 2 garbage cans full of plastic wrap from a previous job that I had to dispose of myself because he refused to come retrieve his own trash after I told him to come get his garbage. He said he was too busy and too tired and that I should just donate, give away or dispose of what he left. The unprofessionalism continued after delivery. Will called me to rant about the other customer (a woman who allegedly shorted him money) and then complained that he didn't make any money on my job because he had to pay for gas and someone to ride with him, feed him, and put him up in a hotel. He also kept several of my moving blankets. In the end I had to rent a 10-foot U-Haul myself to bring the remaining items. I'm a 67 year-old woman and I did it all by myself and even towed my car to boot. I hired someone to help me load and it was not a difficult job. I should have just stuck with my original plan from the start with a 26-foot U-Haul and doing it myself. Live and learn! Movers can be unreliable, and this experience confirmed it. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Just sharing lessons learned from a stupid old lady.

A small item did break but nothing valuable or even worth taking the time to make a claim. They did take a well deserved lunch break between the 30 min drive from my old place to my new place - and i'm not sure whether this was on my billable time. I'm happy with the service and would recommend them. They could, however, improve on communication when it comes to booking/questions.

This is the worst moving experience I've ever had…read more First they showed up late. That could not move my couch down the stairs. (Past movers had no problem) I had to leave work to help them carry the couch down 4 flights of stairs. - Then he's try to charge me $100 extra to move the couch that I had to help with. I had to call the police to get them off my property. The owner came with while the police were making his mover leave my property. I again offered to pay him everything but the additional $100 for the couch I had to help with. He refused and said he would rather Sue me. Terrible experience. -

I have moved several times in the last five years and always used movers. I may not want (or even be able) to do it on my own, but I know what it should look like. And this was not it. I asked for two movers. I moved out of a 1 bedroom apartment and I didn't even take all of the furniture with me. Three movers showed up. I was worried they would charge me extra but they kept the two man rate. And rightly so because the third guy hardly did anything at all. As for the other two, one was a very hard worker and was busting his butt, but the second guy was much slower and did a lot of delegating to the first guy. It took them nearly 4 hours to get my already packed things loaded onto the truck. In addition to being slow, they also seemed to have no idea what they were doing. Most movers cover your furniture with blankets and wrap it up to protect it. These guys wrapped it in plastic wrap, if at all. I still don't understand how that's going to protect my desk if they drop it. And when it came to moving the couch, they acted like they'd never moved one before! They kept complaining about how heavy it was. I had to explain three times that it was a sleeper sofa and that they should probably take the cushions off before they move it. I've had the same couch for years, no other movers ever had any trouble with it. And to top it off, they were incredibly careless with all of my boxes. Even the ones labelled in big red marker as "FRAGILE!" and "GLASS/FRAGILE!!!!". Several of my boxes were crushed because they put the heaviest boxes on top of the lightest ones. I've never been so concerned for my belongings during a move. When it came to unloading the truck into the new place, they were just as slow! Only the one guy was actually trying to get my stuff in the right room in a timely manner. At hour 7 (for a 1 bedroom apartment's worth of belongings, mind you) I asked them if they were nearly done and when they would be wrapping up. It was really starting to worry me how slowly they were going, were they trying to price gouge me because it's an hourly rate? It sure seemed like it!! Once I asked this question, the two less helpful guys became incredibly rude towards me. (Again, the third guy was super nice and professional, and he was the only one actually working hard) It was just a very stressful, unprofessional experience. When I moved 1 year ago with the same stuff, 2 movers got the whole move done in less than 5 hours. And that included a 60 minute drive. This time, it took nearly 8 hours. And to top off the whole day, they broke part of my couch!!! And instead of telling me about it, they shoved the broken piece into the bottom of an open box and left it there for me to find. I'll say it again, I have never been less satisfied with a moving company. This is a scam and you should absolutely NOT use them for your move. Worst experience ever!!
