I called Jeffrey's, and found out they turn on/off the water for several condo buildings, and could come right over. Problem solved! While he was here, I also had him look at some things in my unit. Yes, he could fix the things in my unit, too. Jeffrey let me "hover," and ask questions, which is rare. Later, I actually did more by myself, since I had learned how. With over 30 years experience, he made it look easy. I would recommend Jeffrey's for complicated problems that might otherwise involve a handyman too. His motto is: If you have water where it shouldn't be, or don't have it where you should, call me!" I know I got great service from an expert, at a great price, too.

Virgil's Plumbing has been handling our plumbing for years. From freeing up drains to designing a…read morebath layout to reconfiguring our mechanicals to allow for best use of space they've handled many jobs for us. We originally contacted Virgil's Plumbing when we had a stoppage in the mainline for our home. Obviously this is a major issue, as it basically locked up the plumbing for our home. This happened late one evening after hours. We were able to get another company to come out on an emergency basis. That rep of Precision Plumbing proceeded to tell us the drain could not be cleared and we'd have to tear out and replace the line, which would have included tearing up the floor of the home, the patio the line ran under to the septic, etc. He would not even attempt to rod the main, leaving us with no plumbing and handed us a quote for several thousand dollars for this job. Next day I decided to get other opinions and called Virgil's. They came out, rodded the drain, and got us up back up and running. While they could well have corroborated that quote and attempted to get the more costly job for their own company, they did the honest thing and got us back up and running instead of holding us over a barrel for profit, as I felt the other company was attempting to do. Everything has always been done well and at a reasonable price. Virgil's is our go to for these issues, no question, no doubt. They've proven they're honest, they've proven they know what they're doing and they've proven that if you have a serious issue they understand the urgency of some situations, and will jump on it to get you back up and going. That has carried forward for years at this point. There are plenty of companies in this and other fields that, in my opinion, will make every attempt to take advantage of a bad situation for you to turn it into a highly profitable one for them. These guys are not those people. Thinking about it now, the first time they came out they didn't know me from Adam. I wasn't sent to them on recommendation by a friend, a colleague or whatever, but blindly pulled them off of Google looking for a second opinion on something that didn't seem right to me, and it turns out it wasn't. I have no reason to think they don't treat everyone this way in giving an honest assessment of what you actually need and going about getting it done at a fair price. Have a problem, or need some sort of other work done, pick up the phone, you've found your guy.....

Here are my issues: 1. No estimate was provided (written or verbal). 2. The plumber complained when I asked him to provide a silver shower head plate when all of the bath fixtures had been changed to silver. 3. I had another plumber come to fix the leak and it turns out the plumber installed a cracked balancer in the shower controls. Stay away. A fraud at its finest.

He estimated he'd be there by 4 and would only charge a little for the gas to go out and have a look. He was there by 4. I had already pretty much dried up my flooded basement and just needed someone to help find the source and suggest a fix to prevent future problems. He gave me a reasonable quote for sump pump installation, recommended a few other things I could do by myself, and even suggested I have someone come out for a a second opinion before following through. After being scammed by another plumber, this was refreshing. Don't hesitate to give Andres a call.

So I was referred to Terry by Michael from Mensch With A Wrench…read more I noticed my newly installed toilet (from about 1.5 years ago from a different plumber/contractor) started having a slight leak from the base. I called Terry after Mensch indicated he was no longer doing this type of service and referred him --- Teresa answered and was very polite. I indicated I was only available today (the actual day that I called) and had a narrow gap the next day. Teresa put me down for a window of 1PM to 3PM but couldn't guarantee it and said if not then hopefully the next day. Long story short she called me at 12PM to confirm they'd be coming closer to 3PM. Pat showed up with an assistant and they looked at my toilet - apparently the original plumber did not install the flange level to the floor... and it was basically floating over a wax seal and could've been leaking for who knows how long! (ergh!!) Anyway, Pat used a lot of paper-towel to try and draw out the water from around the flange which based on how much he got out it didn't seem to be seeping too much into the floor (if it did/is eventually the grout will crack around the tiles, etc) and then put a putty ring around the flange/wax ring to close the seal of the toilet. Right now - no leaks. Pat said there is a year warranty on the work. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Only issue for some is they didn't take card, so I gave cash. They DO take check. Pat said they will be incorporating Square-Up or some other credit card swiping device. Will update if anything else happens.

We also wanted a camera inspection of our sewer main line to confirm the stuff we are using to keep the roots out is working. Nick gave a ballpark cost over the phone for the bore scope inspection and after seeing the shower gave us a quote on that. The prices were all fai and he replaced the galvanized stuff with brass which won't rust. The bore scope inspection confirmed no roots in the line and he called me downstairs so I could watch it. We are happy with Nick's service and prices. He's an honest contractor who won't try to take advantage of you.
