I love their food got a livermush and egg yesterday it was great!!! The owner and staff are very friendly

What a great little hidden gem! I say hidden because if you are not from China Grove, NC or close by, you've likely never heard of it. I drive in from CLT just for their food. 2 cheeseburgers, 2 hotdogs, a and local fav Cheerwine for under $20? And it's damn good! Same order at any chain restaurant would be $40 easily. It's worth the trip, and I'll keep making it. read more

Best hot dogs ever! Simple, and delicious! Little hometown appeal, supporting small business.

Oh my gosh!! First bite was amazing. Owner working the grill who was extremely nice giving suggestions and even offered that if I didn't like something, he would re trashed what I got and made me something else. Food is of very high quality and the prices are very reasonable. The chili is homemade each day and add a great layer of flavor to the burgers/hot dogs. There's only about 15 or so seats, which leads to the total local vibe. All drinks are in a bottle, and they feature Cheerwine and Sun Drop. Food is made in record time to get customers fed or out the door. This is a cash only place, so make sure you have enough to pay for your food and tip. Make sure to recycle your empty bottle before you step out the door. "Another Day in Paradise" read more

We stopped in for lunch while passing through the downtown area. The small diner had just finished breakfast and had transitioned to lunch. The menu is pretty limited. Hamburger, hotdog, chips, bottled soft drinks. I ordered a hamburger all-the-way. My friend got a hot dog. The chili on the hamburger was good. The burger reminds of a fresh burger you'd get at a family cookout. The food is prepared right in front of you. It was prepared immediately with no waiting. They have a 97 sanitation grade. read more

The best place to get a hot fresh burger or hot dog. Service is always friendly and always fast! Food is always hot. Bottled drinks are always cold! I have seen them give food to a customer who ordered and didn't realize it is cash only. I even offered to pay for that person and they wouldn't allow me too. Just great people!! read more

Super Quick and Cheap. Chili Cheeseburger was a hit. hit the spot! just bring cash!

China Grove, where Brian's Grill is located, is in the midst of a revitalization. This gentrification appears, however, to be limited to the downtown area, for you will have to pass through a pretty seedy area on North Main Street to get to it. These tatterdemalion businesses include a couple of fish game places if you have reached rock bottom in your gambling activities as well as a strip club that has a hotel around back. I'm not making this up. I cannot even begin to imagine the creatures that work in or patronize this establishment. I could discuss gentrification and the moral decay of society all day, but we have a review to finish. Brian's is cash only, and they have a simple menu that is basically hot dogs and hamburgers. I ordered two hotdogs all the way, fries, and a Cheerwine slushy. The fries were fresh, hot, and delicious. The Cheerwine slushy was very good, but like so many slushy drinks, left me with little juice and a lot of ice all too quickly. The hotdogs were also very good with a frank that was above average. The chili was interesting. It was good to be sure but different. It had no chili flavor. The seasonings that are in chili powder were nowhere to be found. But it DID have flavor--It was akin to a sloppy joe. The chili was also greasy, depositing a dark orange grease ring on the bun. Nevertheless, the taste was pretty good. If I were evaluating only on the above items, I could make a strong case for four stars. But Brian's only gets three stars for essentially two reasons. First, they have no cole slaw. What North Carolina hotdog joint serves a hotdog all the way, but with no slaw? That's part of what all the way IS. Second, they cook burgers way ahead of time. I do not like this. When I ordered, there were at least 20 burgers that had been completely cooked and set aside to the corner of the grill to keep them warm. No thanks. It is why I didn't try the burger. Brian's has a friendly staff, a pretty good product, and they are very popular with the locals. But I think their overall rating is a bit too generous. read more

Brian's Grill - Burgers Near Me - China Grove, North Carolina

Brian's Grill is a small, really small, bare bones grill on Main Street in this equally small town, perhaps best known from a culinary view point for a barbecue restaurant opened in 1971 by Gary Ritchie. The menu is small, as well, hot dogs, burgers, and a bit more, but you want to go with the hot dogs most of all, the burgers are worth a visit (go Carolina burger style), but the dogs are what they do best here! And it is because of the chili, but then again, it always is! Here, they brown the beef first (some do, some don't), then add the liquid, plenty of chopped onions, and the spices including some with heat, slow cook it for 3 hours with the lid on, Take the lid off, taste and re-season, and add liquid if necessary, then slow cook for 3 more hours, without the lid - then put in it the frig until the next day! And you thought it was just chili! read more

Amazing people especially The owner who was too generous! This will be my spot for dogs, burgers and fries. Small menu but that's perfect. Wished that I would have been eating here sooner. You also can't forget breakfast. The bad reviews need to stop. Yes. Small menu, small town people. If you don't like it GO AWAY and keep Your comments to yourself. read more

The best bacon egg and cheese around Chain Grove . Fresh food ,quick severe and always friendly conversation

heading north for the day and the first account is now a candy store in china grove so we're off to door number two... but not before stopping at Brian's. looking at an extra full schedule so I'm walking around with a breakfast sandwich in my pocket looking for a place to get a pint and get noped instead. so I go back to the truck, unwrap my foods and have a look and a sniff and a taste; I am pleased but not thrilled. a fair piece of sausage cooked through and crisped a bit around the edges plus a medium scrambled egg and mustard and mayo on a bun. a plain bun: not toasted, not buttered, not grilled, not fresh out the oven with a firm crust and soft, warm, flaky insides, just a bun :-( still, rounding up with expectation of getting some assistance having my bun warmed when we roll through again in two weeks. might even go full five if I find finely shredded cabbage and pickled dikon radish in there... read more

Really quite greasy plus they don't make coleslaw was sick on my stomach from the grease in the chili

We love Brian's the hot dogs are so good and hamburgers should be ordered before you leave. Yummm. Is this food good for you? You bet your butt, it makes you feel good. We have to drive down atleast a few times a month. Ok a week. We look like closet eaters Husband brings a large brown bag, the three of us waiting for our fix of dogs covered in wonderful steamy sauce. Mmm so good! Covid changed eating inside but once we control the covid then we all will be back to eating inside. Cheerwine or RC cola a chili dog or 2 and a fry. So good. read more

Had a burger, dog and fries. Cook brought out burgers that were already cooked from a large tub and dumped 10 or so on the grill. They sat there for a very short time and the they slap the cheese on the grill to start the melting process. I did not get the chili on the burger and it was very dry. The taste was good but no juice at all. Got the hot dog all the way and it was OK. Fries were HOT and good. read more

This place is a local favorite and is regularly packed a lunch time. Famous for his unique Chili (which is a must on any burger/dog from here) the menu is quite simple - Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Fries, Glass Bottled Drinks, and Cheerwine Slushies. My guess is that the previous 1-star reviewer was holding up the line and got bumped to the side until he decided what he wanted. As I said, Brian's is a busy / crowded place & he caters to a loyal & local crowd. If you're not familiar with the menu, do yourself & everyone else in line a favor & don't step up to the counter until you know what you want. "All the way" is Cheese, Ketchup, Mustard & Onion - there are no other condiments available. China Grove is a small town, and any restaurant with bad food or service dies quick. The fact that Brian's is not only surviving, but thriving after all this time is a testament to the excellent food. read more

One of it must stop places when we are visiting the area. Thank you for great food ans service!

Great place right by my office. Burgers and hot dogs are ready immediately. Chili is very good on both the burgers and dogs. Burger is very juicy. Only complaint would be dogs skin can get pretty tough pending on how long they've been on the grill. Go during peak lunch hours and it isn't a problem. Never a long line cause everything is ready right when you order. read more

As others have said, it is a local favorite. But it is a local favorite for a good reason. I have visited this establishment 7-8 times, since I started working in China Grove. The food is exceptional. The prices are very reasonable (tax is even included, so when you see $1.50 on the menu, that is exactly what you pay). To top it all off, it has an old time feel about the place. You can almost be in the 1950s or 1960s, while sitting in here. If I had to conjure up anything negative about the place, I would say add more menu items and accept Visa (it is cash only). It is literally Breakfast: Bacon, Sausage, Livermush and Lunch: Hamburger, Hot Dog, etc. Not a lot of variation, but that is NO reason to not go to this place. The chili is awesome and the hot dog is great, almost falling apart in your hand (instead of stiff, dry, buns). read more

Great place! The biscuits are awesome and hamburgers are some of the best I have ever had ! Very reasonably priced . Love, love Brian's Grill read more

BEST BURGER AROUND! Quick service In and Out, especially if you call before arriving for carry out. Worth a stop. You won't regret.

You got to love it right? A Non-Chain A Family owned and Operated Place How can you go wrong? That's exactly what I thought!!!Until a couple of days ago I was in the area and I see this little place Burgers , fries, Bottled drinks, Hot dogs damm right! Screech brakes on!! A adventure to say the least ! 1) Step 1 walk in breathe second hand Smoke please Lord is it January yet? When hopefully this will come to a end!! 2) Step 2 Trash can overflowing floor seems to have not seen a Mop in months! 3) Step 3 Two guys behind the counter with not only greasy and worn clothes ( not the worn ones that are made intentionally) as if they just crawled from underneath a car or two and one of these guys was the owner! 4) Step 4 Diner asks " Do you have a menu I have never been here " Answer with a 3 second thumb at the cork board My my certainly not going to win The " Kill them with Kindness award!" Ok we are on a roll here as " Brian" the owner AKA the Head Chef flips the switch to turn the exhaust on and opens the refrig to pull out a Huge pan of pre-cooked Hamburger patty's and puts a few on the flat top and the other " Grease Monkey " opens a bag of frozen fries at least I thought they are cooking the fries to order NOT! My order 2 cheeseburgers I think and fries Burgers $3.00 EACH ? Fries about well less than 2 Dollars to go I could not stand to much of this! As I wait for my NON- FOOD I look around Health inspection 99.5 nice score that must have cost a Mortgage payment to get that! ( Now I am not saying there is Bribery here at all but, what I am saying is the cleanliness of that place was not something that happened over night. I think the inspector must have had dyslexia should have been 59.9! Ok I get my bag of loveliness Oh ya by the way those where not my fries that he dropped according to the Sous chef but, they where cooked not long ago!! he said! Could it get any worse ? Oh yes! I unwrap one of the burgers I take one bite I taste a "Sour smell" I break the burger in half you could clearly smell the rancid smell of the not so fresh meat I check the other one same thing ! Had I been close by I would have went back but, I was not so I called and asked for the Head Chef and spoke of my " food issue" answer... I have eaten 3 today they taste fine to me! At this point this was not worth a argument with a person with such a " Fine Palate "and so I Hung up! The moral to his Story? You must be kidding me this place is TERRIBLE! read more

Great hamburger spot in a small town atmosphere. We enjoy eating here. The service is great.

I love their food. The best mom and pop style Burgers and hot dogs. Also they do yummy breakfast. This establishment has a loyal following.

Great food...great place. Even if you see a long line, have no fear as the line moves quickly. I always get a cheesedog and cheeseburger all the way because I like both. No need to memorize a menu as it's basically just hot dogs and hamburgers (plus drinks, chips, fries, or some ice cream if you want those as well). It's simple and delicious. read more

One of the best mom n pops hamburger joints, other than Hap's Grill (his dad), and is simple and fast.

As I feel about most of Joseph's reviews, this one by far an inaccurate portrayal of this restaurant. Brian's has great food, I have eaten there several times because as I said, its wonderful. It's odd that Hap's Grill gets 5 stars and Brian's gets 1 from you Joseph, because they are brothers! The food is fairly identical except the fact that Brian's chili is a little less spicy because he typically has older clientele! Brian's also differs from Hap's in that he offers fries on the menu as well as sit down dining, but the quality of the food has never been anything less than comparable to Hap's! Anyway, go to Brian's, get a hot dog or hamburger and a glass cheerwine, and you won't be disappointed! read more

This has some of the best food I have ever had. It has a great atmosphere too! The food's a little greasy, but still good!

Breakfast is always quick and good. Best bacon egg and cheese sandwich around. More bacon than any other restaurant. They also do sausage, country ham, and livermush for breakfast. Sandwich and coffee for less than $4.00. Lunch is great, burgers and dogs. The burgers are hand patted everyday. The chili has some neat spice flavors. The dogs are always fresh off the grill. If you are looking for a small town grill, this is it. Did I mention ice cold cheer wine in a glass bottle, sun drop and grape Nehi to mention a few. read more

I love Brian's Grill and have no problem giving them a 5 star rating. The rating is based on their food alone. I don't rate anything other than that. Their style of fixing a Cheese Dog or a Cheese Burger on their aged and seasoned Grill is both basic and delicious. I always have to have mine wrapped for at least a minute before I eat it. Something about the steam that blends everything together nicely. All the way is Cheese, Onions, Mustard and Chilli. The Chilli is the "magic" here. It is a beanless hot dog chilli that works well and does not overpower the burger or dog as some chillis do. I work in Charlotte and ofter drive the 20 miles to China Grove just to have a burger, dog, and a cheerwine in a glass bottle. How lucky we are to have Brian's Grill................. read more
