Menu is simple but you can add pretty much what you want to your sandwich. I got the Super Sub #9, which is a basic Italian style without the salami. Bread is thinner than many sub shops but that leans to an easy to eat and well balanced sandwich. The meat is the star of the show and the flavor was very good and fresh. We came here from a recommendation from my boss that used to work nearby. Great sub shop and easily the best food we tried in Dublin! We were visiting my dad in the hospital in Dublin and had to bring him one too. He comes to Dublin often and never had it before! I've created a monster I think because that is going to be one of his spots now. The Brian's special was SO good! I ate 1/4th and was full. These subs are giant. The bread is very tasty and fresh. We were in town for a Baseball Conference and decided to stop in for a quick dinner. These subs are Amazing. The bread is so soft and fresh. After taking your order, they slice your meat and cheese on the spot for your sandwiches. The condiments are crispy and fresh as well. (We both ordered large subs and saved 1/2 for lunch the next day because they were so large.) The staff is super quick and we were in and out in under 10 minutes and the gentleman in front of us had ordered 10 subs. They flew through the task in minutes. The guys working there are super friendly and smiling through the whole process; they ask you questions and engage with their customers which is rare these days. One second I was fighting to hold my breath and then poof, I was standing back on the river bank, only it seemed to be night time. The river wasn't flowing anymore; it seemed to be vibrating. The only light was a faint pale one. I attributed it to the moon but when I looked up there was no moon, no stars either, just black. When I looked back to the river, there was a man floating inches above the water. I noticed he was naked and the pale light was coming from his skin. His face looked alive but his body looked like it had been dead for years. Ill never forget his face, I recognized it immediately. It wasn't an angel or a demon. It was Brian from Brian's Subs. At least some version of him. I waved to him and he looked confused. Like he was surprised I could see him. Then poof I was gasping for air and surrounded by people. I was alive again. I looked to the water but Brian wasn't there. Over the years I'd stop by Brain's Giant Subs and stare at Brian through the front window. I tell myself I'm going to go inside and talk to him but I never have. He's never said anything to me and I have never said anything to him. We just share a few moments of eye contact, no nod or anything. He gives me the same look he gave me on that river. Like he's trying to figure out if I can see him or not. Brian's Giant Subs is a local, mom-and-pop, old school sub shop that understands the simple concept that eludes so many that there should be nothing fancy about a sub sandwich. The roots of the sub sandwich are definitely blue collar, me to feed hungry workers in a quick and efficient manner and for a decent price point. Some sub and sandwich shops have tried to elevate this simple concept and honestly, it usually does not work. Again, there is nothing fancy about Brian's Giant Subs. Neither the interior nor exterior give you an illusion that you are eating anything fancy or that you are going to have an experience and dining. Again, the sub is definitely a culinary wonder and will always be one of my favorite meals. However, as I said before, there is nothing fancy about a sub sandwich. However, you get all the food groups between two slices of bread. How can you go wrong with that? The staff is extremely professional and friendly and did not fat and I as the line progressively got longer. Having lived here almost a year now, I was anxious to find something new. So of course I browsed my reviews and stumbled upon Brian's. I am sooooo glad I came by! This establishment puts any sub place in town under the table. For one, when we pulled in I was surprised at how many people were there. It's definitely a hometown local joint where everyone knows everyone and you immediately feel a loving vibe when you walk in the door. More than likely, the owner Brian will have a witty comment or acknowledgement for ya' so don't be frightened! Their subs use fresh ingredients in which the meats and cheeses are freshly shaven in front of you. I ordered the Brian's Special since it was the most highly recommended and it's definitely worth it. I've also noticed that the team members will recognize regulars when they walk in the door and automatically start their orders. The tuna and chicken salad are made fresh daily; veggies are crisp. They do have daily specials though the only one I know is on Fridays and it's of course the "Brian's Special." (Hey, I told ya' it was delicious). They're quick, friendly, and while their prices may be a dollar or two above say, Subway (a chain restaurant...), it's worth it. And I highly mean that. After discovering this place, I haven't eaten at any other sub joint. The only "con" I have is they don't accept any form of card payment, so have cash or check ready. I called in an order 25 min before my arrival. The customers that came in behind me were getting served, paid and out the door before me and then I find that my order was not even started yet. I ordered the 1/2 cheese steak with extra cheese and mayo, no drink, no chips. I was charged $9.06 for this 1/2 sandwich and it was not prepared as I ordered. This sandwich was no bigger than a hotdog, maybe... Definitely not worth the price paid for it.
