$41.25 for two. So be ready. BBQ is top notch. Good flavor. Homestyle restaurant, clean. Employees are friendly and in good spirits. Atmosphere is homey with some music in the background. I recommend. read more

Went for late lunch, asked for minimum sauce, so I could enjoy the flavor of the beef and sausage. Excellent. Service and staff were great. Thx read more

The owner came for one of our work events and he was super cool and funny and chill. The food however is lackluster. Nothing great nothing amazing just probably a three out of seven stars. I gave the three stars because of his personality! read more

Service is always great. Food is consistently good. One of our regular places for Togo BBQ. Several events have used them for catering and they have that - no problems! read more

Brian's Bar-B-Q - Barbeque Near Me - Clute, Texas

The food is excellent, the serving is great. Fast lunch or dinner that isn't fast food. Best bbq in the area.

Nice people, great food !!! Good place to eat bar-b-que.Brisket and ribs are great, the sides are very good also.!!

So you find yourself off the beaten path in the small town of Clute and need a place to eat... Who would have thought an Allstar smoker could be found putting out great BBQ at a decent price. This local favorite has had various awards and involvement in the community. From local sports teams to various contest winners. Everything they put out is on point and is fairly portioned. They also have a wall of travel which I am a huge fan of to list the various spots they have traveled around the world. From the BBQ sandwiches to the three meat plate and fully loaded spud these guys bring the smoke and do it right. Put that cellphone away though as you make your way through the line and payment. The side dishes are fairly straightforward but go well with the various meats. Try a two meat sandwich with sliced beef and turkey and get it wet but be prepared to grab a number of napkins to help clean up after you wrap up. Also offering great local soda offerings made with real cane sugar in addition to the house brewed tea. read more

Brian's Bar-B-Q - Barbeque Near Me - Clute, Texas

Pretty good hole in the wall restaurant. It's very unassuming from the outside. I got a brisket plate with corn, potato salad, and pecan pie. The brisket was good with a great sauce. The corn was meh and the potato salad was good. I don't know pecan pie well enough to judge if it was good or bad, but I was happy with it. read more

The Brazosport townies luv this place, gush about it online and show a lot of loyalty. But coming in from the next county.. it was A-OK. Great decor, though. The very best thing about this place is a taxidermy. They have the BEST JACKELOPE I've seen yet; (see photo.) So points on taxidermy. The other thing is that this place clearly has earned the locals' affection. Brian's sells logo'ed T-Shirts and they have a wall of vacation photos that people have sent back from all over the world, showing folks in Brian's BBQ, "Smoking in Texas" T-shirts in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa. Soldier's in Iraq with a roadsign showing "Baghdad 12 mi; Brian's BBQ, Clute Tx 5327 mi". Also many testimonials and thanks from locals for Brian's serving free BBQ to refugees from the plentiful disasters (chemical plant explosions, hurricanes) for which our Gulf Coast is famous. I'd bookmarked this place a month ago after surfing for Brazoria County BBQ spots. Of course, I'd thought "When am I going to drive an hour down to Clute?" But last night, our family went to a concert down at Brazosport College's Clarion Theater - and Brian's is only 5 minutes away! [Many thanks && nods to my family who indulge my passion for hunting down obscure BBQ joints.] Sadly, at 6pm Friday, they were out of ribs. Instead I got the 2-meat plate with sausage and brisket. Counter boy didn't know if they made their own sausage or not. After tasting it, I can assure him that they don't. Brisket (from the fatty end) was moist, tender, a tad overdone. Smoke ring was visible, but the smoky taste was weak. Sauce was too sweet, just didn't hit the spot at all. Cole slaw was the best side; crunchy and just a little sweet. Other family members got the sliced turkey - it was sliced from a large tubular chub. Service was on paper plates with plastic forks. Tables were covered with cowboy-themed fabric with clear plastic stapled on over. The decor was riotously great. In addition to the jackelope, Brian's has all kinds of cute and funny junk. Cigarstore Indian, cowboy chainsaw art statue, pastoral scenes painted on sawmill blades, local celebrity photos, cookoff awards. Yard-sale-a-ramma-ding-dong. I had a great time. But I've had better BBQ recently. read more

Cole slaw has no flavor. The canned greens were decent. Brisket was ok. But I can't get past this lunch meat they gave me for turkey. If I wanted Oscar Mayer meat I would've bought that instead of going to a barbecue restaurant. This has to be a prank! read more

Brian's Bar-B-Q - Lunch meat that's supposed to be turkey. - Barbeque Near Me - Clute, Texas

Service Was Nice, I Was Greeted & Served. The Rib I Got Was Hard & Stale, The Sausage Had A Gamey Taste, and The Chicken Was Dry & Flavorless. Potato Salad Was Mid. 3/10 Wouldn't Recommend. Sista Whites Cafe For The Win . read more

I have eaten at Brian's Bar-B-Q multiple times over the years. However the past few times I have eaten there it seems like they have cut back on the portions or out of food they are serving. This last time was the worst. My brother and I dined in. We had the two meat plate. I chose brisket and sausage and he had ribs and sausage. Surprised they had ribs since they are usually out. I received four pieces of brisket that were about two and half inches long with eight sausage slices along with a very small serving of potato salad. Beans were the right serving size. My brother received two small ribs that had very little meat and eight sausage slices along with small portion of potato salad like I received. I truly feel like I paid $37.00 for two very small child plates, since it took only three bites to eat the small portions of brisket and potato salad. Also the staff talks openly about issues with work and their private lives in front of customers. Which is never a good look for a business. Our table felt greasy and had crumbs on it that we had to wipe off with a napkin since the other tables felt greasy also. read more

This is the place to go for BBQ. I'm obsessed with finding great BBQ places in the towns we live in! I find it so cool when it's just a local place, with cool people, fun atmosphere, and amazing food. From the meat to the sides-nothing is bad. If you find yourself in this neck of the woods make sure to look it up! read more

Let me start by saying I have worked in the food and bar service industry for 15+ years. So I definitely understand how rushed the lunch hour can be for server or cashier. But the lady who runs the cash register at lunch was an awful person. She may be the owner or manager I don't know, but she needs to learn to treat customers who may be new or not familiar with her restaurant with more courtesy and respect. For a region/area full of average and sub par BBQ spots your level of customer service makes a huge difference. read more

This is hands down the best food I have had in this area! I'm from the greater Houston area and the competition out there is fierce when it comes to good eats so there are plenty of good spots. Around here though, not so much. Every place I have eaten wasn't worth a Yelp review. This place is totally worth my time. Please eat here. The sauce is amazing and tangy. The brisket is slow cooked to perfection. I can't say it enough please eat here. Loaded Baked Potato was on point! read more

Was hooked when I opened the car door. Great place with the friendliest service and very reasonable prices! We enjoyed this so much that 3 of us bought t-shirts. The ribs are just outstanding, melt in your mouth, can't get enough, awesomeness! The only thing I was sad about is I couldn't double up on the ribs when ordering 3 meat plate. Great place, you shouldn't regret eating here. read more

The best barbecue in the Brazosport area by far. I would highly recommend them. The restaurant is a line service... The barbecue brisket, ribs, sausage, and chicken are all outstanding... all the sides are great too! read more

My company has a client near Clute and one of the guys traveling with me suggested we eat there. I've been twice and I think the meat is decent but the sides are mediocre. The ribs are fall off the bone tender though they do have quite a few bones in them you need to lookout for. The sausage is your run of the mill sausage. The brisket was OK but I've yet to find a BBQ place that has brisket that is better than me or my friends can make. The sauce has a sweet and tangy taste to it. Its probably not for everyone but I like it. The side choices include green beans, pinto beans, slaw, potato salad, and corn on the cob. To me, the sides are not memorable. They have a very generic taste. At the end of the day it is one of the few places to eat in the area and it has some good points. read more

Brian's is a safe bet for barbeque in the Brazosport area. I give them the nod over the other place down the road because Brian's has corn on the cob...the other place has canned corn. This is definitely more of a "lunch" place and it's within eyesight of the plants. They do a huge lunch crowd and a minimal dinner crowd. It's basically open in the evenings so people can grab food on the way home. The target clientele are workers in the area and they do well with that, clearly. It's family owned and operated and the barbeque is very good. You can actually meet Brian himself and his wife during lunch on many days. The side items are pretty standard barbeque sides, which is to say "a-ok" but nothing to write home about. Their potato salad and coleslaw are both very good, though, and worth mentioning. The chopped beef sandwich - my go to item - is served on a hamburger bun. The pork ribs are great and the chicken is always very good. I've also had the sliced beef. You can come in here and order a plate with sides or order bulk food by the pound for take-home. Their loaded baked potatoes are excellent as well. The place is set up like a "lunch line" so you grab a tray and slide your way down as they make your order. They are generally well accommodating and have great iced tea and a barbeque bar with peppers, onions, pickles, and a wide array of hot sauces. Brian's has been around for years and it'll likely be around for years to come. Compared to the chains of barbeque places you find around Texas, Brian's is definitely the real deal. I could nit-pick a lot of things about this place but the overall experience is great and it serves this area well. If you're travelling in this area for business, it's worth your time to stop. read more

Love the decor of the place and the fast lunch service. The barbecue is definitely respectable and rates a 3.5 to 4 most days. I have not been back in quite some time because I just can't stand seeing my food bare-handed by servers with no gloves. It is obviously not mandated by Texas law but would go a long way in the customer service department. read more

Food-good / Service-not so good Food- delicious, especially their bbq baked potatos with choice of meat. Desserts? - nothing fancy or worth writing home about. Service- the 'servers' can be cold and rude. Make sure you order exactly what you want the first time and don't forget to ask for sauce (bbq) because if you go back they will ask why you didn't ask the first time. Then they will remind you that you really should have asked for it the first time. Geez! It's just sauce. (they were serious!) Note- you order through a line, you are not waited on by a server. Kind of like a cafeteria, but the food is better. If they weren't the only place that served good bbq in a clean place I wouldn't return due to the service alone. The food makes up for the rudeness, but they really do need to learn how to be nice. read more

THE BEST FOOD THERE IS! Period! I have looked far and wide all over the country for good BBQ. Brian's does not disappoint, but what do I dream of... The giant Baked Potato covered in Pork or Brisket!!! This beast starts with a HUGE Baked potato, gets topped with Cheese, Sour cream, Butter and finally a giant mound of MEAT! My Heart and Arteries say NOOOOOOOOO!!!! My taste buds say CALL FOR BACKUP! At a little over 6 bucks, I cannot begin to explain the value here! If potatoes are not your thing, just ask for meat, you are going to want to order a pound or two to eat there, and about 5 or 6 more for the car ride home and maybe a little snack later. The meats have never let me down and are always Juicy with perfect Smoke. Some other places are hit and miss, but Brian's has consistency in that they are consistently Fricking Amazing!!! This is my Favorite Restaurant on the Planet! I have only 2 complaints and they are big ones... 1. They are exactly 1,095 miles or 17 hours 5 minutes from my house (this makes for rather long weekends). 2. They don't ship. Keep it up Brian's and I cannot wait to see ya next time! read more

Best BBQ in town and some of the best I've had in TX. This is one of the first places my coworkers took me when I moved down and they made the right choice. The two meet two side plate is the way to go. I prefer the brisket, the ribs, the sausage...leave the turkey for the dieters. We cater from here for work all the time. The sauce is key, and the potatoes and beans are my favorite sides. If you are in the area it's some great BBQ. read more

Brian's Bar-B-Q - Short plate: Smoked Turkey - Barbeque Near Me - Clute, Texas

BBQ is ok. Hate to say but there are better BBQ joints in the area. Sometime the staff can be rude. I have walked away form this place because of the attitude. You should not make people feel like they should feel privileged to eat your food. You should feel privileged for us to visit your business. read more

This is our second time here. My gripes are around preferences. I like a strong smoke flavor on my bbq.i had ham (excellent) brisket and sausage with coleslaw and pinto beans. My wife had ribs and sausage with Pinto beans and green beans. We could not taste any smoke on any of the meat. The ribs fell off the bone and have good flavor. It had a smoke ring but almost tasted like it was fried. At some point the ribs were placed in an oven. You can tell due to the taste. The brisket was juicy but again no smoke. It had a bark. You see the theme... sausage was good. Would call this bbq... I'm gonna have to say no. Bbq requires smoke. None the less I enjoyed the other flavors. Would I come back for the bbq? No. I would come back for the ham and sausage. read more

I use to love going to Brian's to get a good bar-b-q sandwich. Brian's was always a much higher in cost to do so although very good. The issue over the past year or so has been an increase in their cost and smaller portions. Nobody likes it when a restaurant increases their cost although sometimes understandably necessary, but don't take away what your customers are use to getting! I've seen time and time again places like this go out of business based on loosing their customer base for these very reasons! I for one will not return to Brian's and have since found other places where the food is just as good with bigger portions and at a lesser cost. read more

If you like dry, unflavored food and bad customer service come here. I called in an order, which they had messed up and the lady working the cash register and one of the older staff members who prepared the food were rude. The only reason I still got the food was because I was picking up for other people. All that just to get back and the food was nasty! read more

Staff was very friendly- prices were not too bad. Brisket tasted like a roast. No smoke. The ribs were too dry. Will not go back

I've been getting the half chicken and the chopped beef sandwiches for ages from here, and they are usually really good. But the last 2 times I've gotten them (in the last 3 months) they've been really dry, almost inedible. I'm not sure what's changed, or if they're keeping them under a heat lamp too long, maybe. read more

Best bbq in the area!!!! I love their chopped beef potato, but everything I've had is great!

We have enjoyed this bar-b-q before... But never in house...always catered. Excellent friendly quick service.. The meat & ribs were beyond delicious.. & The sides were fresh & seasoned just right. Loved the oak smoked meat... did not need sauce.. but it was excellent too. We will dine in again... and will definitely pick it up to go! read more

This place was recommended to me by a fellow worker at the plant. He said he grew up in a BBQ joint due to his dad owning one when he was a child. He said this place was very good. Took him up on his tip. Glad I did. This place has some really good food and great smoke. I would recommend this place to everyone. If you're in town working, passing through the area or visiting, it's a must try if you are in the mood for some smoke heaven. Staff was super friendly, helpful, and fast service even as it was pretty packed. The True Texan is a plate of food that will fill you up and the baked potatoes are the bomb. read more

Best BBQ in Brazoria County! Ain't no other BBQ like it and the people that work there are great!!

This is a local institution. The servers embrace diners with southern hospitality and dishes up Texas sized portions. We ordered brisket, pork, chopped sandwich, banana pudding and baked potato with meat. Everything was on point, just the way mama makes it. read more

BBQ is usually dry and servers and cashier aren't very friendly. Also, they nickle and dime you for everything. 18 cents for water and 25 cents for soda refills...ridiculous! Best to drive 20 mins North and get real BBQ in Pearland. Folks would appreciate your business and treat like it. read more

We used this place for catering a dinner for our family reunion and everyone was VERY pleased with the food. Everyone kept asking were I brought this amazing BBQ from! Ribs were fall-off-the-bone-good and had a nice smoky flavor. The brisket was also nicely smoked and juicy and the sides were plentiful. We were particular fans of their potato salad. The price was good and if I'm in the area again, I would definitely stop by. Great job Brian's BBQ! read more
