Sherry makes it easy to understand and accessible. Her lessons are a combination of vocal warm-ups, method and then working on a song of your choice. Her lessons are incredibly fun and therapeutic. Sometimes when I feel tired or stressed after work, after her lessons I find myself feeling relaxed or re-energized. Taking lessons with her has really improved my self confidence. When I first started working with her, whenever she asked me what song I'd like to sing I'd often say "I want to do this song, but I don't think I can" and she would tell me she thinks I can and we can work on it together. Then we would break down the song and apply techniques where I can overcome my weaknesses and play to my strengths. She provides constructive criticism and gives you just enough of a push to grow without being too harsh. I find myself being able to sing songs that I previously struggled with or never thought I'd be able to sing. Sherry also puts on a recital for her students every quarter so that her students would have a chance to experience performing in front of an audience.If you choose to perform, she will coach you on stage presence and performance. I've had the pleasure of taking singing lessons with Brian Lin and it has been an absolutely incredible experience! It is extremely clear that Brian is truly passionate about teaching and helping his students reach their full potential. One of the things that impressed me most about Brian was his ability to help me explore my vocal range and hit notes that I never thought were possible. He was able to identify the different muscles I needed to engage in order to produce certain sounds, and his guidance was instrumental in helping me develop my skills and improve my overall technique. Beyond his impressive technical abilities, Brian is also an amazing instructor who is incredibly thorough and able to explain things in a way that is easy to understand. He was always patient with me and took the time to make sure that I fully understood each concept before moving on to the next. Overall, I cannot recommend Brian highly enough. Brian is a phenomenal vocal coach. He is super friendly, knowledgeable, and patient! I've always had a love for singing but recently I wanted to improve the tonality, pitch, and clarity in my voice. Brian not only took longer time than usual on the introductory session but he made sure he covered everything. He also took his time to explain everything such as how voice works (each body functions that will take part in your voice), I felt comfortable for the first time signing out loud in front of a stranger. She truly understands the anatomy of your unique voice and will tailor the lesson based on your needs. She is also an incredible vocalist with a deep understanding of all musical styles. The vocal adjustments she taught me were life-changing. I was in LA for three months rehearsing for a contemporary new-musical. During rehearsals, I was having a lot of trouble with placement and breath control. I needed to see a coach ASAP. New to LA, I had no idea what to expect, but thank god I found Emily on Yelp. We trained nearly everyday to the point where she had improved my voice so much, our company's director asked who I was learning from in LA. She then signed on as the production's official vocal coach. The improvements are instant. I've seen vocal coaches who are over $350 an hour and don't put in half the effort as Emily does. She makes sure every note, every word, and every phrase is exactly how you want to sound. I was blown away by her ability. She also has one of the most angelic singing voices I've ever heard. It was such a joy to learn from her and to hear her sing. I cannot recommend her enough.

She's more of a vocal coach and trainer than a lecturer, which is awesome! There were several instructors in my past experience that would take a lot of time demonstrating and explaining when I really just need to try it myself. She's also such an incredibly kind, responsible person. I didn't have a lot of formal training experience growing up. I started group lessons in college as a fun elective. I took it for several semesters and performed within the class. After graduating, I started getting more obsessed with singing. I wanted to improve my voice and found Emily! I definitely noticed my singing voice improve within the last year. I'm sad she left to LA!
