I finally drove to the office and made an appointment in person. When I mentioned this to Dr. Etawil, who is after all on some level responsible for his staff, he said the office supervisor would call. That was a month ago and I have not heard from them. A doctor with an incompetent or at best, a poorly trained staff, is not a doctor I'll trust going forward with my health.

Even after the appointment, she called to offer an option that might make it easier than undergoing a rather uncomfortable procedure at the hospital so hopefully I'll be able to avoid having to go through that but we'll see. Anyway, I highly recommend her. I will update my review later after my CT and see what steps are required if any. Hopefully, antibiotics will take care of what's going on so I can avoid more complicated steps. Either way, gotta do what I gotta do right? Fingers crossed.

I didnt get the super warm bedside manner. It was more like say what your symptoms are, do a test and move on. I wanted more to be done and just even asking for a medication was me asking and him not offering. I didnt like that the nurse who was doing my breathing test was actually touching my purse, lifted it up and was complimenting it. I was right next to it but to me...i didnt know how else to tell her no or to stop when she just quickly did all that. I dont understand why medical staff think this is okay and this happened to me at other medical places..you dont touch patients' personal belongings. especially with covid and she had no gloves on. checking out was weird and had to wait in a line to just do so. you could tell front staff was overwhelmed and bothered. they were fine with me but you can tell even with 6 of them..it was a lot of work for them. also they will never ever return your call back to make an appt btw. when you call, just choose you are a physical or medical person calling which is 0 because after calling for 2 days and no call back if you press 1 didnt do anything. but when i did press 0, someone automatically answered and i got an appt quickly. it sucks that i had to make one that way and i even explained ive been calling for 2 days to make an appt and left two msgs. they didnt have a explain why but apologize. it is a busy office so i understand but new patients like myself view that as a first impression seems a little off. overall, it seems like a nice clean office but you can tell staff is overwhelmed, in a rush and missing key points of customer service and complete patient care.

Thanks to Yelp for allowing me to…read moreexpress my experiences because public scrutiny does lead to improvement sometimes as verified in this case. Due to the overwhelming spirit of this world having a negatively biased view of people of color, I have to choose my battles or my daily journey as a dark skinned Black man would require a daily journal. Thus, I only document the unusually egregious acts where certain people have become lax because we don't like to complain as a people. It usually doesn't help. Kudos to TMMC for responding and apparently speaking to the employees. Our treatment is a constant psychological drain that non-Blacks could ever understand or empathize with because it is completely out of their frame of reference. The fact that we were treated with a little more respect on our follow up visit is appreciated. Now if they could offer us a better supplier than Cadence, our world will be better.

They are unprofessional and disorganized. I needed a PFT test to be scheduled. I would call and call and leave messages and noone bother to call me back. After many tries (at least 6 times), someone finally called me back but she didn't leave her name and just left a message for me to call the office back. I, then call the office back but since she didn't leave her name, the staff couldn't help me and didn't know who she should transfer my call to. She then asked for my birthdate and name and said she will get someone from the office to call me back. (Back to square1). I then said, are you sure someone will call me as I have been in this loop with your office atleast 6 times and not able to schedule a PFT test. She snarkily said someone will call you back. It is really so frustrating dealing with office staff like this. This is not a one time incidents, I have heard so many of their excuses before: short staff, bad answering service, we are swamp etc. It is exhausting to go through this. I love Dr. Abe and his knowledge but not sure I can continue to deal with his staff as it is too stressful to deal with their unprofessionalism and disorganization. Please retrain your staff ASAP.

She spent a lot of time discussing his symptoms and test results, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the rest of the clinic completely dropped the ball. After the appointment, my brother was told to wait in the exam room for a blood draw and to pick up a stool test kit. He waited about 30 minutes with no one returning. When he finally stepped out to check what was going on, the hallways were dark and the office was basically closed. It appeared the staff had simply forgotten he was still in the exam room. If he hadn't walked out and called for help, he very likely could have been locked inside the office after hours. Because the staff who perform blood draws had already left, he now has to come back another day. Since the clinic isn't open on the weekends, he'll have to take additional time off work just to finish the test which is frustrating and annoying. Dr. Chen was great, but the clinic's staff coordination and professionalism were extremely disappointing. No patient should be forgotten in an exam room at closing time.
