How many Fs can I give it?…read more I give this place one star, but it deserves O stars. The two times I have gone there was nothing but a total nightmare. Bad, bad service. I can't stress it enough. The first time was about 3 years ago. The front axel on my Explorer didn't work and so I dropped it off. They fixed it for a large sum. Six months later it went bad again. It was still under warranty so it should have been resolved at no additional cost. The truck did NOT have any other problems they gave me the truck back again. A week later the axel was bad again. I brought it back and again they fixed it except this time mysteriously the radiator developed a bad leak and needed replacement. I objected because they damaged it, but they would not take ownership. I paid another $500. For something they damaged. Recently I saw they had a new service manager and I thought after a few years things might be different. What a huge mistake going back was. My 2020 explorer ran great and it did NOT have any problems. I received a notice from Ford about a recall. I arranged for an appointment to have the recall serviced. Something about the seatbelts not being safe. Well kick me in my rear. I fell for it again. Today makes two weeks that they have been "working" on it. Then I called and asked for a status. The service advisor says oh the recall is done but there is a problem with the rear lift gate lock. Mind you I did NOT have a problem before I came here. Now they want $500. To fix it. This place is horrible and I warn you don't come here, you will regret it. Now my car has a dealer created issue and they won't own it. I don't have the words to truly express my disappointment and the inconvenience Brewster Ford has caused me. 1) service sucks 2) Quality sucks 3) value sucks I want to sell my car and never look at another Ford ever again.

From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed, respected, and never pressured. Michael Rose was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to clearly explain all options, making sure everything was easy to understand and that we felt confident with every decision. Communication was excellent throughout -- timely, clear, and proactive -- and the entire process was handled efficiently without ever feeling rushed. The vehicle was delivered exactly as promised, in perfect condition, and exceeded our expectations. What truly stood out was the professionalism, attention to detail, and overall care shown during the entire transaction. It felt less like a typical car lease and more like working with someone who genuinely wanted the best outcome for us. If it were possible to give more than five stars, we absolutely would. This was one of the most seamless and stress-free leasing experiences we've ever had, and we would confidently recommend both Ford and Michael Rose to anyone looking for an exceptional experience.

Absolutely Unprofessional Service & Failure to Follow NYS Inspection Guidelines - A Cautionary Tale…read moreFull disclosure: I am a professional auto technician with over 36 years of experience, and I held a valid NYS Motor Vehicle Inspector's License for the majority of that time. I now work in Connecticut, which prevents me from legally performing NYS inspections -- hence my visit to Mavis for a proper, licensed inspection. June 8, 2025 - First Inspection Attempt I brought my 2001 Toyota Highlander in for a NYS Safety & Emissions Inspection. I did not have an appointment but left my vehicle with the staff. Around 12:30 p.m., I received a call stating the vehicle failed the safety inspection due to non-functioning license plate bulbs. I was told they couldn't replace them because the lens screws were rusted and might break. Given the age of the vehicle, I was pleasantly surprised that bulbs were the only issue. However, when I arrived to pick up the vehicle: The inspection sticker was not removed, as required by NYS DMV guidelines for failed inspections. I was not given a failure sheet until I asked for one in person. At that point, they performed the inspection while I stood there -- after notifying me of the failure over the phone hours earlier. I took the vehicle home, removed the rusted screws using a reverse drill bit, and replaced both 194 license plate bulbs -- a simple fix. June 14, 2025 - Reinspection Disaster I returned with the vehicle for the reinspection appointment at 8 a.m., along with a second vehicle scheduled for a full inspection. This is where things went entirely off the rails. The vehicle was pulled in, wheels removed, and I was then told it would fail again -- this time due to: Torn control arm bushing Worn rear brakes I was absolutely shocked. This vehicle had passed all other safety categories just 6 days and about 200 miles ago. Are we to believe these issues suddenly developed? Either: The original inspection was incomplete and failed to detect critical safety issues OR The current inspection is exaggerated or incorrect What made matters worse: I was denied a failure sheet this time -- again in clear violation of NYS DMV guidelines. I was told I wouldn't be charged for the reinspection because they were "saving me money" -- a baffling statement, especially when the manager then tried to sell me brake work in the same breath. Let me be clear: I examined the brakes myself and agree they need replacement -- but that's not the issue. The issue is transparency, inconsistency, and lack of procedural integrity at a licensed inspection facility. Safety and Trust Matter As a professional, I recognize inconsistencies and procedural lapses that most customers would likely never catch. But that's exactly the concern -- how many people leave this shop assuming their car is safe, when it might not be? Last week, I let my wife drive this vehicle thinking it had only a minor bulb issue. Turns out, based on the second inspection, it allegedly had major safety faults. I was so disturbed by this experience that I chose not to allow my daughter's vehicle to be inspected at this facility out of genuine concern for her safety. Bottom Line: BE CAUTIOUS Mavis failed to follow basic NYS inspection procedures: Failure to remove expired stickers! Failure to provide timely inspection results! Inconsistent findings between visits! Refusal to document safety failures! As an experienced technician, I urge others -- especially those without automotive expertise -- to be very cautious before trusting this facility with your vehicle. Safety should never be a guessing game, and transparency should be a non-negotiable standard.
